I appreciate you pointing out how hard it is to film and fish and camp and cook and do everything you do...and still make quality content. It's so easy to just skip the camera part and do it for you. Instead you bring your viewers along and the effort that requires to do well is pretty incredible. Keep it up dood.

That may be the single most difficult part of becoming a fishing youtuber. You love fishing so much it's hard to have this entire setup running and keep it maintained throughout a trip when all you want to do is fish hahahaha

So Micah, with a coffee percolator what you want to do is use a course ground coffee so that the pieces are mostly too large to fit through your basket. You can get a cheap coffee grinder at Wally world that should have a course grind setting. Then just buy a bag of whole beans, course grind a quart bag of it and take it out with you. Most ground coffee you get at the store is ground for a regular coffee pot setup so it is too finely ground for an old style percolator. Love your videos, keep doing your thing, those crappie were monsters!

Nah use any coffee you want make it stronger ..once it's done u take the basket out and put some cold water in the pot and the grounds will fall to the bottom ..either that or you can throw some egg shells into the pot and that will make them settle as well ..I'm the actual lot not the basket

Awsome that you caught your PB crappie and then got a surprise of your PB common carp. Those things put up such a great fight, thank you for releasing it, and not just killing it for no reason just because it is a common carp. It is amazing the things they will eat when they are being aggressive.

I never really watched or cared to watch UA-cam videos, but my son's got me to watch both of you guys videos now it's like all I do when I'm at home. My boys and I do alot of fishing and starting to do alot of camping with catch and cooks so your videos are really educational. The challenges are our favorites. Hope to see some 3 or 4 day challenges in the future. Thanks for the entertainment. Good luck in the future.

New to your channel. Love your enthusiasm. This video stemmed many questions:
1: Do you find more bugs bothering you when camping on the water in your boat vs on the islands or land near the water?
2: Future video suggestion. You noted you put the catfish back in the water due to not having any oil. Do a cook video where you cook one type of fish in oil, over the fire, on the grill, marinated in whatever, etc. to find the best way to cook that type of fish so it tastes the best for the type of meat you are cooking. One time with Catfish, next time Crappie, then Salmon, Bass, and so on.
3: Future video suggestion. Every time I go in the outdoors I try to take trash home with me whenever possible.
Since you are so well followed, do a video specific on cleaning up after yourself when leaving camp. Taking trash home with you. On the little islands, take a large trash bag with you and pick up all the beer cans etc, to be an example of how everyone should be.
The next time a group is at one of the camps and someone who is a follower of your channel, they will step up and say to their friends, not to litter, and when they leave, their friends see them cleaning up after them, you will see a change in the mindset of kids today.
Tell them the cool thing to do is leave no trace. Tell them to carry trash bags with them when they go to these remote parties/gatherings/fishing trips etc, and you will start see a change in the way people think when they go to these parties because you are such a good steward of the land. People want to follow you because you are cool and they want to be cool like you.
Keep up the good work. Your videos are fun to watch.
    Peace, Mo

A good tip to catch crappie is go buy cracked corn at your local feed store, and then throw that out around your boat and you will get more baitfish and then overall more fish

Caught a 3lb 12oz crappie the other day bass fishing with a squarebill the other day, tried releasing it but it swiped at it and got the gills. She floated back up about 5 mins later so I ate it. It's the biggest I can remember catching but we used to catch 100s a day when I was a teenager, and had some giants

That crappie was a beast great job man!!! Legend says that the church sounds the bells every time the lake loses another crappie. The crappie don’t get to bury the bodies of their loved ones so they’ve adopted a more immediate memorial type service in partnership with the Church. Last week a boat full of catch and releaser’s was out there fishing and they had the church prematurely ringing the bells all day long. The crappy were down there like, 🎣“well there goes Billy get ready for the memorial service, I wonder if they’ll have worms at the reception? oh wait there’s Billy he’s back. Quick call the church and stop the bells! Hey frank Do we still get to eat these worms? What worms? 🎣 Well, there goes Tommy, get ready for the mem... “ and the cycle goes on and on and on and on and on. Do to the behavior of the fisherman Reports of confusion and anxiety have run rampantly amongst the crappie community. 😳

Make your coffee a little stronger than usual ..once it's done take the basket out ..dump some cold water not much like a 1/4 cup and then the remaining grounds will settle on the bottom and just don't drink the last half cup because the grounds will sit in the bottom of you pour it gentle

I have the exact same coffee pot. You have to use a medium or coarse grind coffee grounds. Anything less like espresso grind or fine grind coffee grounds will fall right through the holes when the water starts boiling or percolating.
Also, as others have said, if you pour a little bit of cold water into your cup after pouring your coffee it will cause the coffee grounds to settle to the bottom. Another trick I have heard is to use a small piece of the burning wood from your fire and touch it to the top of the water. Supposedly, that will make the coffee grounds fall to the bottom as well. I cannot vouch for this however.

Simple camp on land and faster tear down = hammock and sleep pad. Take that carp quarter it, wrap in foil with butter and seasoning and toss it in the fire. Junk fish can taste good too. I do have to dock some points for the raiders hat… and I live in Vegas. Though a Colorado native so I can’t condone any raiders.
