Hey Micah, great video as always! There are a number of things that could have caused that maple tree you cut down to start dying like that, so I can't really give a definitive answer on what caused it; it could be anything from root rot fungal infections to water polluted with chemicals. What I do know is that tree-bore insects took advantage of the tree's weak state to burrow into it, such as carpenter bees, wood-bore beetles, etc. Some woodpeckers probably got into it as well. That's what all of those holes were from!

I get it’s a pain to get ice etc. Too bad! Guess lesson is, if you’re starving don’t risk it! Also, it would be easy to make a shelter/roof out of camping poles and tarps no? Instead of looking for bridges to hang under to shelter from rain? 🤔💭

Did great, especially for a guy who let many lbs of fish meat go. Fun to watch. Looked like a pretty good time. I'm sure a lot of big fish would eat those snakes, especially the small one. I showed my friend a great secret spot I always pulled in big trout from, and he caught a 5lb trout, it had a gardener snake in the stomach, and other fish and stuff. Good time in Idaho in the early 80s :)
