I’m amazed at how expensive these are and they use visible light not infrared. I have just tested a cheap Chinese unit ( with an oscilloscope) accurate to around 2miles per hour . Very reliable . I did make a cardboard cover as it became less sensitive in sun light!

Awesome! I shot five x-bow bolts over my indoor chrony, and none registered. Now I have the solution! THANK YOU!

Hi Scott. Trust you are well.
Just remember that you really don't need to do this amount of effort. Just get good lighting on top of the defuers. Cheap LED lamps work fine.. Enjoy!

@@affordableairgunningbyjb6994 Doing well, and I sincerely hope you are too, my friend. Thank you for explaining. My x-bow won't be back in action until tomorrow, so the timing is perfect. I had to call tech support, and I think it'll be fixed in the AM. Lookin' forward to some shootin' and crony fun! ATB!

is light on top or bottom of roof

Hi there. The light is on top. I do not think it will make huge difference, but shining through the white PVC will defuse the light and I think (maybe) easier for the sensor to see the arrow/pellet... ??

Did you use any specific type of LED's? Because when I tried using some battery powered work lights in the same manner, my chrono went nuts. I figured it was due to flicker.

      Hi there SDMac Man....
Nope, i just used standard LED strip lights that use 12V ....
I am not an engineer, but a 12V DC battery should not cause flicker... Maybe if your system is running from AC (mains) then it might flicker, but a normal battery system should not flicker..
Hope you can sort the problem...
Keep me updated please for own reference in the future...
      Regards
      JB

Did not know that you can have air rifles as a foreigner in the Middle East.
