Heavy load? Or did the back end not have traction on tracks? It seemed like it hardly could make it up the hill. The way I remember these things from military service they could climb trees, more or less.
Been there, done that. Usually in that perspective you do not see the real steepness. That does not look like there is packed snow underneath the BV. Looks more like the usual fresh fluffy low-temp powder in which you sort of swim and hardly get much traction. The fluffy snow has not yet connected well with the snow layers beneath ... it is the same with a snowmobile or a BV. I remember one incident (with heavy load though) where we had to pull the load with two BVs uphill ... full throttle but only slowly moving. But really fun to drive.
This one might have an issue with the turbo. I remember mine started going so slow one training and upon further inspection one vacuum hose was completely torn off. It didnt boost at all without the hose connected..
What's the top recommended speed for something like this on a standard road? Most of the places I might use something like this are a good distance away.
@@KarILsson Best way to get stuck in snow is to get the engine to shut off in a hill. Doesn't go back or forward after that. :D Driving these around in the hills of Lapland during winter was the best. Wish I could have done only that for the year I spent in.
I have zero need for one. I have zero use for one, but now I want one
You ain't the only one that feels that way lol

they use old trail so the packed snow underneath may have become icy....and its also much steeper than it looks :)

wow!
Is the trailer driven by hydraulic or by drive shaft.?
Driveshaft

Top Speed is 40, so on the road you usually hold a steady 35km/h
@@XionToday Top speed is 55km/h according to specs although we rarely managed to get it over 50.
@@BilldalSWETalking about when they were new 6 aeons ago? Good luck pushing one of these to 55 on a flat surface
@@XionToday Like I said, we did (rarely) manage 50. On perfect hard gravel roads. That was during my military service in 2004.
@@BilldalSWE I was of course referring to your comment before you edited it. :)
awesome. does it ever get stuck in snow
Fred Gardner not in snow.
Almost never if you get stuck its most likely driver error you hit something under the snow or you chose to steep path :)

Hadde nesten beltevogn ville bli sittende fast for en stund, virker det som det var dyp snø!

Seems so ineffective...
Yes, I'm sure thats why they've sold 11000 of them to military and rescue services all over the world... /s
