    Thanks really helpful - this helped me fix my 2009 A6 which is almost identical - remove, WD40 (may not be the best choice but...), re-seat restored window switches, speaker, heated wing mirror, central etc. I could not find that clip before watching the video.

    There's only sound at the back of my A4. Front, Passenger and driver's are totally mute, not even scratchy noise. Hope it'll help, thanks for the vid !

      No sure Marc, but no sound from the speaker below the windscreen suggests it's not a wiring issue but a hardware/amp issue. That I haven't had to deal with but I'd start with the obvious and check the fuses and then go from there. Good luck!

      @@MostlyHelpful Fuse and wiring are ok. Just discovered that only when in phone/call mode the sound gets moved to the front. So the front speakers do work fine as well.
      Got the info from an Audi employee, in fact it's Audi's "audio design" depending on the headunit and speaker system/configuration ; for example, I have navigation plus with random/generic speakers, with the bose speakers however the sound would be more bassy (obviously) on both front and back. Now it also depends on car model and where it has been made.
      There are ways to customize these settings either through VagCom, headunit change or 350€ at Audi's garage 💀

    I've got an issue where the windows and central locking intermittently stop working due to severed wires. I soldered up some spare wire I had to the wiring to make the connection which has some what fixed the issue but it's still intermittent Whereas before it wasn't working at all. Any suggestions as to what might fix it permanently? Do I need to grease the connections up and does the wiring need to be a certain thickness? I just used some old speaker wire I had to bypass the severed wiring..

      Hey Taj, sorry to hear you are having similar issues to me and I ended up having to solder the wires leading to my door and I still had some issues. I took the whole panel off to see what else might be causing the issue but never got to the bottom of it. Using the same thickness of wire would be the right way to go, but I doubt it would cause an issue to use something slightly thinner (as opposed to really thin). So yes, check those connectors to the doors and also look under the dash and see if there any other issues. It might be that a previous owner has wired in something in the past and left behind some bad joints. This was the issue on by other car, a BMW E36, which has previously had three car alarms, a mobile phone and a tracker. All removed now, and electrics much more reliable as a result. Good luck!

    I want that sound when you open a door, but i don't have it, that's how i bought my b6, can i fix it?

    • @MostlyHelpful
      @MostlyHelpful  6 місяців тому +1

      It will almost certainly be a broken wire in the connector. If you remove the connector and expose the wire you'll see the break and can then solder it back. Good luck!

      Hi! Maybe the buzzer behind your instrument cluster is gone.

    Front main speakers just randomly went mute when i was driving listening to music , any ideas whats wrong?

    • @MostlyHelpful
      @MostlyHelpful  5 місяців тому +1

      If all front speakers went silent then I would suspect an issue with the amp. If only one speaker went silent then it's likely to be the wiring to that speaker.

      @@MostlyHelpful I think it is just the front speakers in the passenger and driver side doors, just randomly stopped

    what about the rear foot speakers is it the same?

    • @MostlyHelpful

      Hey Mohammed, I haven't looked at my rear door speakers but the connectors are the same. I've since found out though that the wires going to my speakers are broken and this was causing the issue. Video coming on that very soon.
