I downloaded the sims 2 years ago when I had my 2015 MacBook, and redownloaded it when I got my m1 air. I was also heartbroken when I found out it doesn't work lol. sims 3 and 4 through origin work though. I had to download some software that apple suggested to make it compatible.

Soemthing that you should add to ur Mac is in google. What you do is have tabs open and then go up to the tool bar and find Tab and then click group tabs and it makes them very organized
JULIAAAA YOU CAN PLAY SIMS!!!! Just download the origin app (it works with Rosetta on an M1 machine), and you can play all the Sims games in there! I play Sims 4 allllll the time! It's so fun, and the M1 chip is AMAZING for someone who's not a hardcore gamer :). Hopefully that helps you!
