  • I'm hoping this video could be of help for owners of these vehicles that encounter the same problems.
    I've been dealing with codes P11DB and P11DC for almost a year now. The dealer quoted me $600 in labor to replace these plus parts (~$300). I said screw it and went about doing this myself - but there is very little information available about these trucks.
    The sensors themselves are by far the most difficult item to get with long lead times typically. Please keep this in mind as you find time in your schedule to do the work.
    Sensor PN's
    55496922 NOX POS1
    55502673 NOX POS2
    Both can be purchased from Summit Racing
    Tools:
    10mm Socket and box ended wrench
    Oxygen Sensor Toolkit (Can be rented from your local auto parts store)
    Jack
    Jackstands
    Anti-sieze
    Once you are done, reset the codes using a diagnostics tool (can be purchased on amazon)
    I haven't found any information yet on specific procedures to clear the permanent codes in the system but I will try this and update on results: www.obdii.com/D...

    Thanks for the video man. Replaced sensor 1 in about 7 minutes flat and my check engine light is gone. My first diesel and guys like who help others with these videos are awesome. 🤘

    I commend you my friend for making videos like this. The dealership is always out to rob people, and in my situation I think they purposely do things. Free oil changes for life in my opinion is a way for them to make things fail so they can make money when you come back having problems. I went and got an oil change at Jerry Smith Chevrolet where I bought my truck, and just a few weeks after having an oil change my truck went into catalyst Regen mode and it will not come out now, so my truck is permanently in reduced power mode.

    Great video. Shows locations and you explain the tools recommended which is great. This Nox problem when speaking with a service center is made out to be extremely difficult and very expensive, so your video helps to show just how expensive it is to speak with a GMC service department for those of us who can turn a wrench. THANK YOU. PEACE

    I am sitting in a dealership and they just told me they must replace the position 1 NOX sensor. The DTC was P20EE. The cost to replace will be about $1200. Unlike the 6.2, 6.5, 6.6L Duramax engines, the 2.8L, as of March 2024, still doesn't have engine repair manual available to the public. The other engines previously mentioned have manuals offered by both Haynes and Chilton's.

      Is this still the case? The ECM will self test and eventually clear, assuming all readings from test are within spec.

    How much were the NOX sensors ?
    Did it fix your issue ?

    • @JohnsonMac
      @JohnsonMac  3 роки тому

      The sensors were around $150 each from GMPartsOutlet.net . One of them took a while to get to me due to being backordered. Replacing these fixed the issue! Hope that helps.

    How many miles do you have on the Truck, the same sensor on my ZR2 just failed and I have just under 28,000 miles.

    • @JohnsonMac
      @JohnsonMac  3 роки тому +1

      When the sensor failed, I had about 70k on the clock. I never did figure out why it went bad but I would imagine repeated short drives would cause soot to build up due to the sensor not getting up to temp.
