@@raise-project Not quite. If the sample ended before being retriggered (like it is the case for nearly any percussion sound) you'll have this on every beginning of the sample. If, however, the sample did not end before being retriggered it heavily depends on the polyphonicy-setting of the Electribe (Mono1/Mono2/Poly1/Poly2) if the effect occours and/or can be heared at all.
I bought the sampler 2 when it came out. I wish I had gotten the synth version to be honest with you. Organizing and placing sounds on the Electribe is such a pain in the ass that I just use the stock sounds. I seriously have a disdain for this thing. Why do I still have it? Lmao
Synth is quite limit though. Depends on the genre. With the sampler (ht). I just uploaded a set of drum samples and then just sample my own stuff like track by track. Everything else is indeed impractical.
My patches did work but sadly with completely different instruments as all the drums and synths are gone or different. So no, your songs a lost largely. I rendered them all to waves internally to save them together with their patterns so when I switch back to synth I can theoretically load them back in.
@@raise-project but if a patch has sequenced leads and synths such as the CRIM3S patch, would the general tracks still stay, even if I changed the samples

Another important improvement would be that the release would still work with the envelope 'off'. It's hard to make proper pads like sounds without that possibility. …or better, change the behavior of the Decay/Release control so that in the first half of its travel it works as Decay (without sustain) and in the second half as Release (from the moment the note is released).

Please, please, please release a firmware update for first gen Electribe! Still have mine after 25+ years.
The black Em1? Sold mine long ago. EMX was great.
Doubt there can be done anything. I just made hacktribe public (video) after testing :)
If I hacked my E2S, would the hack make it possible for me to use patterns / patches from the original synth version.
@@CE_LESTIA Yes the midi data is still there but you have to reconstruct the synth patch with what you have.
What is this about sampling. Is it stereo? how long ins the sampling time? How is the sampling workflow. I think sampling is the most interesting part
It's the same as in the original sampler version.
Sre the sampling features same as the Sampler version?
Yes, I think so.
@Thomas Herrmann does it still export Audio?
@@BrancoArgenta Yes it does as far as I can remember.
Hello need ask if i do hacktribe in esx 2 red... did still be there resampling mode? Thx for answer to anybody and wish good night :)
Should be, its everything the original sampler had and more.
@@raise-project okay much thanks for know.
Amazing
im curious if anyone has done this on the blue model, every thread ive read is someone saying they bricked it im just wondering if anyone has done this successfully on the blue model.
That maybe a good question for the github issues. Afaik bangcorrupz has multiple tribes and it worked but not sure.
ok i mean i have everything done one step away from hitting the button ill ask there see if maybe korg thru in some security for the mk2s so you couldn't do that
@@grad13nt1 A good card and always remove it safe from the pc and the regular good practices might reduce the risk.
wow!!!! thats interesting...
can it sample from audio in?
Yes :)
This looks cool but have the blue one and worried I might brick it! I will probably stick with having the volca FM coming into the audio in...!
The blue one seems to be confirmed working. If you want to flash it mainly for the fm you re better of with orignal firmware and volca fm (way more options/powerful).
hey! you didn't show the new sampling function! :) also, should it work with the blue e2s too?
Forgot to record but its the same as with the sampler :) . Afaik works with all e2.
@@raise-project If I understand it right, it would merge both Electribe functions into one? I'm interested in the E2 synth version but the possibility to play some samples and use them with the E2 filters would be really amazing and fully matching my expectations...
If yes, did you notice any setback like less polyphony or anything similar?
(Disclaimer: Forgive my stupid questions, I don't have the device yet but I'll get one about Christmas but I'm very interested because I couldn't really decide between E2 and E2S).
@@Tmoussy In short, I think the e2sampler is more versatile. Go for the original sampler and use it a while and then maybe later switch to the mod firmware for additional filters and synth engines etc. No drawbacks on voices etc afaik.
@@raise-project Thanks a lot for your feedback, you use a grey E2 for your demo, is there no difference with the hack?
I only found that the E2S firmware shall be patched but not that it shall be flashed on a E2S only, am I right?
@@Tmoussy Now Im confused. You can use that mod on both. The synth version looses its synths and pcm instruments and gaines sampling/2synth/effects. The Sampler gains the synth filters and two synth engines.
FM? What?? it's possible?
Yes, a very simple version of course.
@@raise-project thanks !
Am i stupid or what ?
This "tutorial" is not tutorial at all.
Any chance for normal video tutorial.
Thanks
Thats just the presentation. The tutorial is a different video :)
@@raise-project Hi
I manage to install firmware. Everything work except "e2sSample.all". When I import samples from 501 position works great, but when I turn off and turn back again unit, samples just gone.
@@rankovsrdjan You need to save your imported samples afterwards as written in the manual.
@@raise-project
Hi Thomas.
First at all, thanks for response.
Do I need install "hacktribe-blank-e2sSample.all" first and then my sample bank?
Where to find manual, to see how to save imported samples.
When I try to Export all samples, I got "Error, Card Error"
Another important improvement would be that the release would still work with the envelope 'off'.
It's hard to make proper pads like sounds without that possibility.
…or better, change the behavior of the Decay/Release control so that in the first half of its travel it works as Decay (without sustain) and in the second half as Release (from the moment the note is released).
There are soo many things one could wish for. Finer grid, proper ADSR, all 4 osc settings, additional IFX settings, led chromatic keyboard etc. Its best to just list them in the git discussions. We will see whats possible in the end.
I wish I wasn't a complete idiot and could figure out how to do this. Is there a tutorial vid even an idiot could follow.
The gui installer may be your best bet but if you are unsure you better not attempt this hack. You might brick your device.
Quick question for you. I had my buddy that's a programmer, do the install. It's great, but all the samples disappear once I turn the electibe off. Any idea what I'm missing?
@@diaryofanolddad Cool!
Yeah thats normal, you have to write them to disk when you are done. Should be in the normal sampler manual.
how you instal it,this is much important, becous its no one has a tuttorial movie how you must do this.its not so easy.
There are q couple of different tutorial videos, a jupyter playbook, the written steps in the git repo and some even host ready made files. github.com/bangcorrupt/hacktribe/wiki/how-to#firmware-patch
