I quite like the Electribe already, but this could give me a new appreciation for it. I have a Digitakt, which is in most ways better, however the portable nature of this device. I tried using that sample editor (probably 2 years ago) but it was very flakey back then. Not only did it crash all the time, it used to wipe out my data too!
Yup, you get up to something like 300 secs of mono audio. I can't remember the exact number, but you can clean the whole machine out. it's actually easier to hack, and start from nothing than it is to recover the old samples too.
It's purely my opinion but I think it's better to hack the Sampler than the Synth. I like the Hacktribe on my Sampler because of the extra filters and the extra synth voices mostly. I really haven't used the extra stuff for the sequencer because I mostly sequence with my Octatrack. That being said, the Synth comes with a ton of extra voices and all the same filters you get with the Hacktribe right out of the box. The Synth doesn't get the extra FM voices that come with Hacktribe but the Synth does have a few similar voices in it. Also if you hack the Synth you have to go through a slightly different process than what I describe here and you have to find the original samples that come with the Synth because once you hack it, all the samples are erased and you have you reload it with samples you have. It's very, very easy to get the stock samples off of the Sampler version and reload them after the hack. The Synth version either has to be manually sampled, organized, and reloaded or you have to search the net for someone who has used a Raspberry Pi or something to get them off the Synth. So the short answer is, it's probably subjective which has the bigger benefit. More Synth for your Sampler or more Sampler for your Synth. I can tell you that the Sampler is slightly easier to hack though.
The difference between e2 and e2s is also genre related. E2 is for EDM and e2s is more hip hop based. If there would be no hacktribe, I would definitely go with e2. But how does the hacktribe version sounds on e2s? Is it more EDM orientated?
@paulsharm7410 You're like half right. The e2 is EDM focused and its samples, without the hack, can not be changed. The e2s comes with some of the worst hip hop focused samples I've ever heard. The stock drum samples really really suck. But you can put whatever sounds you want into the e2s and get really close to most sounds. The e2s does have the huge weakness of only having basic synth wave and basic filters. Hacktribe is the BEST of both machines plus a ton of 2 operator FM synth voices. The Hacktribe is as flexible as the Electribe 2 can be in my opinion. I absolutely recommend it. You should also check out Bangcorrupt on Github. All hack instructions are there. He's also trying to make the Electribe 2 open source so we can customize our Electribes 😭😭😭
a person named Bangcorrupt(his net handle obvs LOL) created it. It's pretty simple. I'm dumb as a bag of rocks and I hacked my E2S while making my first long video so I'm almost positive you can do it. If you do use it and like it, you should go to Bangcorrupt's Github page and donate to him. I doanted $10 and you get to vote on new features and you get to look at his work in progress Freetribe. He's making the E2 open source. We'll be able to build our own Electribe in the future if he succeeds.
Hello please does somebody have the latest Hacktribe VSB file, the one with the new MFX? thank you
thank you for this!

Organizing and getting sounds on the Electribe is such a pain in the ass.
How do u cope with sampling ,I do mine on aux on my boss looper 505,but mostly spoken sample
I need to do this mod to my black sampler E2...
If you wipe all the factory samples... do you get more sample time?

Do you get to use the osc edit knob like an e2 synth on a hacked sampler?
ohh fuck thanks for making this bro hacktribe
Does it make more sense to hack the blue or the red? (I mean better results and functionality)

@@paulsharm7410 which let me clarify, I like hip hop music. I just hate the samples they chose for the E2S.
Do you lose some synth functionality on the synth version by hacktribing it?
I dont think it works well on the blue on at all i have heard. Only the red sampler version is "stable".
@@MemoryMan1it works absolutely identical on both machines
Didn't know u got different scales when hacked, I wouldn't wanna Risk it tho .
Wonder who invented this
