So here in Nor Cal its become popular to rip into the split SF/A's caps ... hard core fans just despise the idea. But the thing is the A's - Giants rivalry is a real thing within families here in the Bay Area. Many A's fans get married to Giants fans, have kids and the kids can't make up their mind and root for both. I see nothing wrong with it.
I love the friendly competition the emerged after the the quake that rocked the World Series! Me and my lady have made it a ritual to see a Bay Bridge Series at least once every season! I'm a Giants fan but I prefer to go to the Coliseum because that stadium still holds that old fashioned mystic to it! 💯
1:24:46 - ua-cam.com/video/sFMk2kmxMA0/v-deo.html (Will Clark's RBI Double (Brett Butler scores) off Mike Scott, SFG 4 - 0 HOU - Bottom of the 5th) (August 5th, 1989 - San Francisco Giants Vs. Houston Astros)
What the guy said at 1:19:36 unfortunately ended up being the case. A Bay Bridge World Series never happened again, and unfortunately won’t now that the A’s are leaving. 😢
This is the fourth World Series meeting between the Oakland Athletics and the San Francisco Giants (their previous meetings were in 1905, 1911 and 1913).
Fourth between the Athletics and Giants franchises. Not between Oakland and SF.. but but good history. The first three were managed by the legendary managers John McGraw and Connie Mack.
@@diamondplate Good play in their WS victories. As I read, the earthquake totally messed up our starting rotation. Canseco and McGwire were so doped they could go through walls. Who else?
I grew up in the Bay Area as a Giants fan and will never forget watching live on television Mitchell’s bare handed catch.

Baseball players just aren’t this cool anymore......
Watched this every day day when I was a young little lad. This is what kick started my baseball career.

I was in Novato when the quake happened. The earth rolled for a long time.
Lol I was born in Novato ! And I was 11 when it happened living in Novato
It’s so 80s
Oakland A's #1
35:54 the most coked out manager in all of Mlb.. gotta love the 80's
I grew up watching this video. What a magical time. Not one person staring at a phone.
Just like water you can't catch the Smoke!!
Un those times they used to hair the radio 📻 🥺🥺🥺 .
I was happy when the A’s swept the Giants.
Giants fan, let's get it!!!
Mitchell was definitely taking " something".
Yes, BALCO had customers on both sides of the Bay.
In his defense, many in baseball were that year, including Canseco and McGuire
I wish Canseco and McGuire were in Hall
When Will Clark wakes up in the morning he really gets the itch to use The "N" word
8:17 “Ken Oberkfell found his nitch” as he picks a wedgie out
Yeah, the A's got to the series through steroid use, the Giants through good play.
Be nice to the A's. We haven't always been so clean.
@@ryansullivan5575 But the A's were doing it before Bond's even thought of doping. Everyone saw them and then thought they would try.
@@lyndarocha8846 true that!
Good play? How about win one. If I remember right it was a sweep.
