Whats funny is thst berserk works on him. You can then completely drain his magic and he cant even do ultima, he still tries it, but he has no mp to use Ultima with, so he just dies.
@@tasselhoff1293 I've DONE this strategy. I know it works, and I know he fails the cast. He still tries to cast it, mind you. It just doesn't work because he doesn't have any mp.
@@tasselhoff1293 also to be entirely clear. I wasn't saying to use berserk on your party. Casting it on him works, and makes him a lot less of a threat.
How to obliterate the Fanatic's Tower: 1: Recruit Gogo 2: Equip him with the Genji Glove, Offering/Master Scroll, and your two best daggers. 3: In battle, have Gogo take the first turn, skip your own people if you have to. 4: Have Gogo select the Mime Command. As Gogo has nothing to copy, he will default to using his basic weapon attack. 5: Watch as Gogo gleefully carves his way up the Tower with no difficulty.
In 94, my first playthrough of my first RPG, i level grinded to survive Ultima. I also thought Ultima hurt the person who cast it because he always died after using it.
@KnownAsKenji true i played this heavily back in the 90s on the snes and back then i had meticulously built everyone up. I remember that tower being difficult to figure out back then.
@@KnownAsKenji Low level runs of the Tower of Magi is the one thing Umaro excells at, since he ignores all the rules and can one shot most of the enemies.
If you don’t have Life 3 / Reraise yet there is another way. Equip a reflect ring on one character or if you have enough of them on everybody. Then use Rasp until you eat up all his MP and he can’t cast Ultima.
i actually managed to kill magimaster back on my SNES in a very funny way. Since i was constantly failing to deal damages due to barrier changes and i had no ultima neither meteor on my side, I was rather desperate and looked in my item list: MAGIC BALL. without doubts the item least used among all players. it was dealing some damage and I had gogo in party, guess what...
Berserk Magimaster + vanish party + rasp and osmose when ur low MP. long but easier then farming reraise. and can finish b4 Phoenix cave. 5 casts of Rasp per turn if all 4 know and 1 has Gembox/Dualcast
I died a few times on this fool. I was throwing crap at the wall trying to figure out his weakness. To my surprise berserk worked but it misses sometimes. That's why I didn't think to try it again until I died a few more times. This is better though 😂
No for real though... It happens to any clip I made through this new version on ps5. I think the dev's made it so that if you clip anything it mutes the music
@Pichu-82 Imagine that's exactly how the FFVI characters feel throughout their journey since life has no music unless we produce them. The music is only heard by us, the players.

Hahaha I will definitely remember that!
yeah I came in way underprepared on my first playthrough and had to slapdash a strategy, was amazed it worked.
He also doesn't counter attack with Ultima when he dies if he's killed with a character in Berserk too if memory serves

I did that with Umaro. He does not have to use magic, attack melee on autopilot. 😊

Well that was certainly quicker than the classic rasp strategy that would prevent him from using Ultima.
I never grind so I never have Life 3 at this point, so I always drain his MP to zero (And I think I berserk him first)
Umaro is good for that tower too because he will throw other characters at enemies in there ignoring the seal on physical attacks
Great tip. It requires one to be using Umaro though...
@KnownAsKenji true i played this heavily back in the 90s on the snes and back then i had meticulously built everyone up. I remember that tower being difficult to figure out back then.
It's the oly time Umaro is useful, but he makes it so much cheaper (doesn't need ethers or MP-reducing relics) and fun!

I did this once on the SNES. It takes a long time to sap all his MP, but it does indeed work.
I never beat it this game. I need to go back and play it. Its one of the better RPGs for sure.

Bring Umaro up the tower! He will unleash the FULL POWER of Hulkamania!

You got hit with ultima you can no hit by casting phantom/clear than rasp him to death.
Good to know, was a first playthrough
Anyone equip ultimaweapon and berserk party . Just wait to normal attack

Another way is that Celes's rune skill works. Beserk her and hope she runes the ultima spell.
Damn! What's your secret on beefing everyone's magic up so well???

That hasn't worked for several versions of the game now.

which ff version is that?
Pixel remaster
