Not the prettiest win pitching wise, but the bats were alive and in tune tonight.
We went on a crazy run in June when we had kind of stalled that started with games like this and offensive outbursts that wouldn't let the pitching lose it. Hoping it's a good sign of strong August.
At this point just pitch around their Young guns
Gotta have bullpen for stretch run. Trade or free agency. Chirinos can be an inning eater, which is great, but bullpen has been iffy at best over last few weeks.

Notes From The Game:
- Yonny Chirinos... Didn't look good in his Starting Debut for the Braves. He's Unable to Finish the 4th Inning, and allows 4 Runs on 6 Hits, Walking 1 and Striking Out 3. He Gets a No-Decision However, keeping his Record at 4-4, but his ERA jumps to 4.34. I'm seeing a Pattern Here; A LOT of these Teams are getting Aggressive and Swinging Early in the Count against the Braves' Pitching. Regaining the Swing-and-Miss Stuff will be CRUCIAL going forward for the Tomahawk Chop's Pitching Corps.
+ The Bullpen, Barring One Pitcher (What the Heck Happened, Ben Heller?), Prevented the Brewers from Regaining the initiative. SIX Pitchers though, had to be used to finish the Final 5 1/3 Innings, Allowing 3 Runs on 5 Hits, Walking 2 and Striking Out 4. Collin McHugh gets the Win in relief, Allowing just 1 Hit while Striking Out 2 in 1 1/3 Innings. He Improves to 4-1 with an ERA of 3.43. Rasiel Iglesias gets his 19th Save in Relief, Pitching a Flawless 9th while striking out Former Brave, William Contreras.
ROTATION TOTAL: 9 Innings, 7 Runs, 11 Hits, 3 Walks, 7 Strike Outs, 1 Home Run Allowed.

+ A MUCH-NEEDED VICTORY FOR THE BRAVOS! Despite the Pitching still looking EXTREMELY Concerning, The Offense Overpowered Milwaukee, and the Defense didn't make any mistakes! Still, The Pitching CONTINUES to worry me.
- Unfortunately, Every NL East Team EXCEPT Washington Won Tonight. That Keeps Atlanta 10 Games ahead of Philly, 10 1/2 Ahead of Miami, 17 Ahead of New York, and 23 1/2 Ahead of Washington.
TOMORROW:
Round 2 of 3 Between the Brewers and Braves will take place under the Evening Skies of Truist Park.
Former Brave JULIO TEHERAN will step up to the Rubber for the Brew Crew, Who's had a Struggling July, but IS coming off a Good Outing against his Former Team at American Family Field, in which he Limited the Bravos to 1 Run on 3 Hits in 6 Innings.
Meanwhile, BRYCE ELDER will Take Up Battle Stations for the Bravos, Who's also having a Tough July, Going 1-1, but having a WORRY 7.71 ERA in the Month so Far. However, he did show some promise against the Brewers in his Last Start, Allowing 2 Runs on 4 Hits over 6 Innings.
Can ELDER and the Braves start a CRUCIAL Win Streak and Take another Series against the Brew Crew?
Or will TEHERAN and the Brewers stifle the Braves back into the Losing Column?

Only thing i was thinking is that our new pitcher from the Rays maybe wasn’t even expected to go deep in the game as far as IP. I mean they could’ve had him slated for only 3 or 4 innings (maybe 5) but it could’ve been planned to have a “Bullpen game”, I didn’t watch game but the other plan could’ve been, lets see him get thru the lineup 2 times and pull him after 18 batters and/or let him face the lineup a 3rd time up and pull him as soon as anyone reaches base.
Lastly, I’m pretty sure I saw on his stats line while he was warming up at start of video, that he had only 4 starts all year so he’s prob a length guy you can go to, to come in when our starters might not have their stuff and this new guy can be that conduit to get us to the 7th, 8th inning guys

I know no one wants to hear it but that’s how the 98 Yankees beat most of their opponents..a hit here, double there. They can hit but I’d rather them try and win game that way. Home Runs are cool but they don’t always win games…Just like the Golden State Warriors, shooting 3s don’t always work. Especially when the rest of the leap catches up to you.

Still not convinced, giving up 7 runs is not going to cut it in the post season. The offense keeps having to work overtime and putting up huge numbers to keep them in the win column. Acuna where are your homers?

u cant ask for homers from acuna with everything else that hes been doing, home runs are not the only stat and quite frankly not the most valuable stat at all
Hop off Acuña he gets on base and does his job when he gets on base they win and he usually does he walks this season and rarely strikes out

Am I the only one who wants Michael Soroka pitching in these games? No offense Chirinos, but if I have a 10 game lead, why not let Soroka eat these innings at the big league level to see if he can get his form and feel for pitching again.

Braves were the best in baseball before all-star game but since then they have been playing really bad baseball
I would offer Milwaukee a trade: Acuna in exchange for Frelick, and their starting LF (don't remember his name) plus their best pitcher and 7 yrs. of free beer
I do like Yonny Chirinos stuff as he has that splitter but I wonder if he adds a 4 seamer too it'll keep them off the sinking action. Revamp the slider and we could have a Kevin Gausman type possibly.

What a dumb MLB rule to have to touch the go ahead base a 2nd time before going back to a previous base when a ball was hit and caught for an out. Explain why.... the reason why you can't just try to get back to the base you were on without that nonsense before a throw is made to that base to get the runner out. Got to touch the other base first. BULLSHIT
