Uchiha Itachi Awesome opening indeed! The captivating sounds of the ambulance siren added a unique sound to the tense music that made the opening number so cool and so great. 👍
It’s almost letting you know Rocky will be all right, he went the distance, he won the girl, and is now happy. But the urgency to remind us that wounds won’t heal themselves and still needs immediate medical attention.
I was a senior in High School when Rocky II came out in theaters. The first movie rocked my world literally. In this opening scene, I thought my heart was going to beat out of my chest. I remember shaking in my seat @ the theater. Time went on, & I experienced a lot of bumps in the road. Because of the Rocky character, & the meaning to each movie series, I was able to graduate from Law School. SO many humble memories, & I feel so fortunate to have been @ the theater on opening night of each movie. Now my grandson is hooked on the Rocky series.
46 and the same ... I'm attending online university for my degree at long last and when I finally get that piece of paper this is the music that I'm graduating to.
What I love so much about this opening is how simple and subdued it is. This is the aftermath of one of the greatest fights of all time. One of the most chaotic post-fight scenes of all time. This is the reality after all the glitz and glamour and stage lights: two men, badly injured, needing immediate medical attention. What a classic opening.
I agree. Back in the old days you had abandoned warehouses and shit, rusting cars on the streets, that was cooler. Today the downtown areas of all big cities are being gentrified and cleaned up for tourist dollars and yupster assholes moving in.
Watching this right after the first movie made me so damn hyped, it fades directly from the desperate cries from Rocky and Adrian right into this satisfying ass intro, even though Rocky is being rushed to the ER the music makes it come off more as a victory lap
I know exactly how you felt Kingmont because I felt the same way in 1979 when I first saw this intro at the theater with my mother. How old are you Kingmont, I am 55 now.
@@habib8961 i am 53 now i saw it at the theater as well,i remember i was in the 5th grade so that puts me at 10ish age wise, the intro and the part where rocky reads to adrian in the hospital when she appears to be dying but wakes up and tells rock to WIN...gets me every time, have a blessed day brother, thx for sharing..🙏🏼
This music just conveys the situation perfectly. Something huge just went down and we're all exhausted, but at the same time we're already gearing up for the next one.

UNA DE LAS APERTURAS MÁS ÉPICAS EN LA HISTORIA DEL CINE.... GRACIAS POR EXISTIR ROCKY BALBOA...TENIA 6 AÑOS Y LO RECUERDO,POR SIEMPRE Y PARA SIEMPRE....CUANDO SE EMOCIONABA EL IR AL CINE...
I almost like this variation on the Rocky theme more than the first one Bill Conti did for the org. The descending minor notes that build up to the horn fanfare . . . so powerful. Especially since we know both fighters went the distance.
What can i say about this intro, Bill conti's score Really encapsulates the feeling of you just got beat down and bloody and now you gotta be rushed to the E.R in 1976 in Philadelphia, these two men beat the hell outta each other for glory, but after the lights and the fans cheering, the reality sets in that both are really hurt and can barely move, love it.
I agree. Best Rocky film for sure, and a great movie period. The worst part for me was the boxing match. The story was fantastic but the boxing is annoying because he blocks all the punches with his face with no effort to dodge or block at all until Rocky III. The ending however was the best way the match could have ended
I just remember watching Rocky marathon with my grandmother and it was great then not so much now that she passed away 😢 But I still enjoy the soundtrack regardless RIP mama 1942-2018 love and miss you ❤

Before all my Criminal Defense Trials, I would train hard in Boxing just to mentally prepare for Jury Trials because the lives of my clients, I held in my hands. It gave me the mental edge, & I won all my trials. Thank You Rocky, we both won! Respectfully written, Santiago Murillo, Esq.
