    Nice! Your videos should be seen by more viewers. May I repost your channel without changing anything on the clean platform named Gan Jing World? Thank you!

    Hi! Yesterday I've built a Mutable Braids, everything works properly, but the output is extremely low. Do you have an idea what should be checked to fix that, by any chance?

      I'd check the opamps - I think I recall that I soldered one of them in backwards, causing a similar issue, so that would be what I would check. Always worth re-flashing the firmware as well since that can be odd sometimes

      @@hansstahl1887 thanks for the quick reply! Much appreciated! Regarding the op-amps, I used TL072CDG4 instead of TL072CD - can this be an issue here? According to the mouser comparison they are basically the same, hmm...

      @@racalik yeah looking at the specs of the two that substitution shouldn’t cause any issues, I can’t find any differences between them

    Hi..can you tell the height of.the pots and the jacks?...

    • @hansstahl1887
      @hansstahl1887  4 роки тому +2

      The distance from the circuit board to the front panel is 9mm. The body of the pots and jacks should also be 9mm, although the total height of pots and jacks varies between them. The jacks are all thonkiconn 3.5mm jacks, the main pots are all alpha-style 9mm linear pots, and the attenuverter pots are 9mm tall trimmer pots. You can get most of these parts from either thonk (UK) or modular addict (US)

    What is your estimate of the final cost of the build?

    Hi Hans, About to start this journey myself. Would really be great to see the second instalment that you mention, with your second edition.

    Thank you for this.
    What technique did you use to solder the SMD components?

    • @hansstahl1887
      @hansstahl1887  5 років тому +4

      I just hand soldered them, with tweezers and plenty of patience. I'm working on a second Elements now and I'm filming the soldering process, so that video should be up soon if you're interested in a more detailed look at the assembly

    Vocal fry makes this video unwatchable...

    • @hansstahl1887
      @hansstahl1887  5 років тому

      Yeah it's a combination of bad mic placement and a lingering cold. I'll put a link to a condensed text version in the description if you (understandably) don't want to sit through the whole thing.

      I cant hear any amount of vocal fry. What an odd thing to nitpick in an informational video. You are obviously here because you need help.
