I love how you could see the differences in all the dancers The girl in the beige dress had the most precise movements The girl in the chestnut dress had the most fluid, almost dainty movements And the girl in the yellow dress had the most powerful movements
Do u think ita ment to be like eliza?? Like she had to be precise in her movements so alex could have his career the girl in the cheastnut had to be fluid cause she had to be able to react to every situation alex caused and the girl in the yellow had to be powerful cause eliza had the power to forgive not only that to tell his story after he was gone ? Im probs over thinking but i dont think it was just coincidence
MaMiMuMa I think she’s just feeling the song. I mean when you’re dancing to a powerful song like this you can really start to feel passionate about it and it can show on the face
@@kawaii33366 The beige woman do has strong expressions, but I don't find it really cringy tbh. What I find cringy about her is how she started to play with her dress A LOT at the end. I'm not against feeling the song but I felt like that was too much. That's something kids in kindergarten do when they perform.
Ok so first of all WOW. And second I could be completely overthinking this and completely wrong, but for me, each of the dancers represented a different aspect of Eliza. Like the dancer in the off-white represented Eliza’s natural personality of being innocent, kind, a romantic, but at the same time slightly naive. The dancer in the red was her frustrations and insecurities (I noticed she would dance most often when other women or Alex and Angelica’s relationship was mentioned), and the yellow dancer was her sadness and heartbreak. The off-white dancer was normally in the front or first showing that the emotions she represented was the first one Eliza went to, even if it was in the memories she had, then her reaction went to anger, followed after by sadness. And when all of them together represented every part of Eliza feeling the despair of Alexander’s infidelity. This was beautifully choreographed and even if my take on its meaning was incorrect, it was one of the most moving pieces I’ve ever seen!
Aman Kaur Peggy would make sense being represented with the yellow, but I don’t think the red would be Maria Reynolds. If the colors were meant to represent other characters then I think Angelica would then fit the red dancer. Either way that was a great way of looking at it
How have I only come across this now???? This needs _at least_ one million views! The story of First Burn has never been told through such beautiful dancing better than this👏👏👏
Ok this is lovely and all but all I can think about is how the heck did the performer in orange do that thing during the "when I told her what you'd done" lyric where for one step, her toes are completely curled under the rest of her foot and she actually walks on the knuckles of her toes? I'm not describing it well but it's basically like she's en pointe, but she's not wearing pointe shoes. How the heck did she do that?! That has to hurt! Not to mention the level of foot strength and flexibility it must require! Holy heck that was impressive.
It's not ballet but still very impressive. I do this type of danse (idk the name in english, I m french) and actually I never knew you could do that! And I do think it hurt!
Well it actually doesn’t hurt (unless you’re on a hard floor like she is 😂) that’s why I usually do toe rollup things on carpet or while wearing dance shoes to cover my feet - but her way is more impressive tho, you’re right
The women in red.. The moment she stepped back on just her toes omg... If this were a rap battle, this would've been the winning line. Absolutely breathtaking!
The choreography is beautiful! I admire the musicality and the use of three people. For example the head turns to the piano around 1.04 and how when there is multiple people singing, all dancers are dancing which makes it more impactful which is the exact reason why there are more singing.
I can not put in words exactly how touched I was by this video. Ever since I first listened to that song I've always dreamed of watching a contemporary piece with that track. And this is exactly what I pictured in my mind! OK. Not the exact moves because I'm not a choreographer but the idea I mean! :P The way the dancers take turns in the narrative, the way the movements echo just like second voice harmonies, the jumps and pirouettes sometimes in sync with the song, other times in sync with the lyrics. Ugh, I loved it.I am sure LMM would love that too! Thank you all, thank you, thank you, thank you.
Ok I know this isn't what I should be focusing but as a dancer I appreaciate how in synch they were with each other in certain parts. Yes I even slowed it down
@ it also makes the dance more satisfying and the movements more powerful in some cases. Being in synch is a way to make your dance very appealing, although sometimes in choreography they intentionally make the movements out of synch to create a sense of chaos, like certain movements in this dance.
The dancer in the orange tube top HAS BEAUTIFUL LINES OMG her every moment is so well done I couldn’t look away she seems well trained in ballet that was a blessing to my eyes thank you
I appreciated the dancers back then, but now i really appreciate the choreography. The way they do different things then somehow conjoin in sync again, the creative formations and cannons, it was all just so stunningly put together
The way the choreography had each dancer dance when a certain singer was singing and when they sang together they danced the same thing... this is a masterpiece
the dancer in beige has the most fluid, smooth (if that makes sense) movements. the dancer in chestnut has the most dainty and precise, sharp movements. the dancer in yellow has the most powerful, strong movements. they’re all so amazing
that grande jete around 2.23 sent chills down my spine. you forget how powerful a simple part of technical dancing can be - the execution by these dancers at that moment was breathtaking
as a dancer, i am highly impressed. they had amazing emotion, and technique. they each represented eliza’s emotions and for that i’m so proud. beautiful choreorgaphy.
As a dance teacher I Thought this was beautifully choreographed and they all had amazing technique especially the girl in the orange dress but i think the ones that gotta work on the faces are the orange and yellow one because they didn’t have a lot of expression but the white did do have a lot of expressions but honestly they were beautiful
Idk why but at 1:03 when they all turn their heads with the piano notes is REALLY satisfying Also, this could be completely wrong but I think that why the song ends so abruptly is because it was representing their relationship. Before then everything was beautiful and perfect then it ends on a harsh loud note.
i love how each dancer followed each singer’s voice and they each had their own style almost but then were completely in sync. this is amazing and i love it, especially 2:23 that part gives me chills omg
But like lyrically the choreography is matched so well. There’s always a jolt or a turn when the lyrics change moods and it’s amazing it’s so many contrasting points that flow so well.
The dancing was GORGEOUS. And the videography DID IT JUSTICE. Too often I see dance videos with distracting videography, so kudos to the person filming who excellently captured the movements of the individuals and the group together!
I mean this really seriously when I say this is the first price of choreography I have *appreciated as art*. I appreciated other prices before, and recognized others as art, but I think this is the first time I actually understand dance as an art form. I hope no one takes offense to this because I really had tried to hard to see dance as art the way I see music and writing and acting, but something never clicked for me. Until today. Until right now. I don’t know if it was because I’m already so emotionally attached to the music or the insanely talented performers (never seen anything like this) but...WOW. It just all came together for me. I get it. Thank you.
I found this months ago and I'm still coming back to it at least once or twice a week, it's absolutely magnificent, and I wish they had included this song in the musical because of how much character development it shows for Eliza.
i appreciate that each dancer is assigned a singer. if you pay attention, each dancer dances when specific singes are on, and when it's all of them, all the dancers move. i just thought it was a nice touch.
i thought i was done crying to this song!!! i thought i was desensitized!!!!! the fluid grace, beauty, sheer emotion and thoroughly practiced KNOWINGNESS of every movement in this choreo is incredibly moving
At the start of the video I really didn’t know what to expect, and then later on I catch myself smiling so much at this. This was also the first song that got me into musicals and made me extremely happy. I can’t express how great full I am for this and the women that did this. It’s phenomenal and I honestly don’t know how I haven’t seen this until now. I’m just gonna say, well done to these beautiful people and their effort they put into their work 💗💗💗
I’m gonna be honest this gave me actual chills, I got a little teary eyed, it’s so beautiful. Thank you for putting this masterpiece out for the world to see.
This gave me literal chills and it was so gorgeous. I love how each dancer showed their own talents to represent the individual singers, and those moments flowing seamlessly into the group choreography. This was completely breathtaking to watch.
Lemme just say - I've seen this piece before and loved it but I've watched it several times today because I'm using it for an assignment in my choreography class. I don't know what it is but I've gotten emotional every time I've watched this video today (especially 2:38 to the ending that's really sticking with me). I feel like I can never get sick of this piece because there's so much more to appreciate every time I see it.
I literally love this song so so much and this dance truly visualizes the feelings that are in it. Not only the technical side of it but also the emotional. Their faces were almost plain, but the movements showed everything. This just proves that the arts are a huge part of our lives and cannot be overlooked. All three of these women are obviously powerful and graceful, just like how most young girls want to grow up to be someday. Every action they do means something, something much deeper and stronger. Each woman dances differently, it isn't a strict routine. It flows. I cannot express enough how amazing this dance is. Congrats to the dancers and choreographer, you all did an amazing job and keep doing what you are doing!

I’m the 700th like!
what about those piroettes at the end?!!!!
Sameee
white dress: AMAZING EXPRESSION
orange dress: technique is on POINT
yellow dress: her moves are so sharp i love this
It's kinda of an orange red dress or red more like orange red
MaMiMuMa I think she’s just feeling the song. I mean when you’re dancing to a powerful song like this you can really start to feel passionate about it and it can show on the face
MaMiMuMa its cause shes white isnt it
@@kawaii33366 The beige woman do has strong expressions, but I don't find it really cringy tbh. What I find cringy about her is how she started to play with her dress A LOT at the end.

Red? orange? her dress is CHESTNUT people!? Where did you get orange and red from?
Ok so first of all WOW. And second I could be completely overthinking this and completely wrong, but for me, each of the dancers represented a different aspect of Eliza. Grace Martin I didn’t notice that, but, wow that makes sense. And agreed, this choreography was beautiful
I think the colors of the dresses represent the colors that the Peggy/Maria character wears
Aman Kaur Peggy would make sense being represented with the yellow, but I don’t think the red would be Maria Reynolds. If the colors were meant to represent other characters then I think Angelica would then fit the red dancer. Either way that was a great way of looking at it
Grace Martin yes I love your way of looking at it as well!!
After reading this comment, i feel more amazed watching the video:v
They look like the flames dancing on the paper she’s burning!
Burned And Frozen that is a perfect analogy, I love it ❤️

Yeah sadly I only saw this on my reccomendations just now :
Same. I obsessively played this song for months, and only got this recommendation this week.
Can’t even
