Matt D Yes, Guitar Rig5 is very good because it's simple, it's complete, have many amps, many fx, many cab sim, many preset, many options,you can jam with backing tracks just use the tapedeck function into GR5, you can rec. just use the loop machine mode, GR5 comes with standalone version if you want (so you can play without any D.A.W.), there are many presets created by users completely free, it has many features for playing live (options for midi pedalboard and stuff like that) but it's very old (much better than garage band of course).The best right now it's BIAS AMP and BIAS FX (both comes with standalone version). If you want the best quality possible and have many amps and cabs for rec. stuff I recommend BIAS AMP or BIAS FX, if you want the best complete guitar sim. maybe GR5 it's good for you. I recommend to check out The Toneforge Jason Richardson plugin, the Mercuriall Spark Audio Software or Universal Audio Sfuff for a very high professional amp sim (maybe do you want only one good sound so that plugins are superb).

Can you make a video on how to set up gitar rig 5 I mean how do you plug in your guitar to the computer. I get good tones but always with A LOT of noise and if I add noise reduction I lose a lot of sustain. it sucks. do you use any special hardware?

best thing you can do is practice as fast as you can play it accurately, then work your way up. Also it's really important to use a metronome so you can focus on timing. You'll get there eventually
Ironically the best thing that's helped me was to drop it and then continously come back after learning different patterns and songs. You get a better muscle memory that way
