- I was sick of watching this in bad quality on UA-cam so I downloaded it straight from the makers' website. I guess it's the best we can get...
Congratulations to 72andSunny, the advertising company that put this together.
"The ad never made it to television, and was seen only in brief appearances at Microsoft's promotional events, such as the Zero Hour launch event in Southern California."
That means this ad was NOT banned from airing on TV - Microsoft just decided not to do it.

I thought it aired once ,and then was pulled from ever airing again due to public outrage. It had to have aired once, because someone had to have recorded it once to post on UA-cam.
I remember seeing it several times in Denmark, and at least twice in Norway. Apparently, we Scandinavians can take a joke

I'm reminded of the ending of Cowboy Bebop by everyone shouting "Bang!" and dying.
Favorite Part: Guy falling from the scaffolding. Even though he was tethered, that would have hurt a little bit. It may have left a bruise. I give him props for being such a class act.

I think it makes reference to all those childhood games that involved cooperative imagination. That feeling of everyone just joining in the mass hysteria and playing along.
A lot of people fondly remember those games of pretend that they played when they were kids. This ad is trying to say that videogames are the modern extension of those games of joyful pretend and that playing Xbox will lead you back to that abstract wonder of childhood.
After years and years on Halo 3 I can finally relate to this.
Brings me back to being 7 or 8 and playing finger or stick guns with friends

For anyone else looking for the original song like I was - it appears to be the Mills Brothers performing "Tiger Rag" composed by Nick LaRocca, specifically the version released by Brunswick Radio Corporation in 1931, but it seems to have been remixed / remastered with additional instrumentation for this ad. On the other hand, 'Perfect Day' and 'To Michael' are the greatest ads from PlayStation.

Thanks for the "HQ" version. Came across this last weekend going through an old old HDD from like 15 years ago, transferring any old pictures and such to my new proper server. My previous archive method has just been piles of bare HDDs, lol.

The ad was never aired on television, Microsoft showed it to select audiences at certain events. All the people saying it was because of "gun use" or "finger bangin" (which is truly a laughable joke and not in a good way) never bothered to have a look at the facts. @flashbangHD It was banned because a couple weeks before it came out there was a bombing in a London mall and releasing it on television would have been seen as insensitive.

Love it. Xbox 360 was the second consoled I ever had aside from the wii, and I was absolutely blown away at how online and interactive the games and party chat was. I would use a 15 dollar headphone from Walmart

well there's cloud computing, sharing games, near instant switch between programs, it has an HDMI input (the only console that does), better exclusives (according to most people), once you download games off of a disc, you don't need the disc anymore. Those are a few examples.
i have the oldest and cheapest Xbox 360, the old white 360 Arcade. i've had it for over 3 years and it still works. i haven't even had the Red ring of Death yet. and the warranty ended 2 years ago.... .
Usually when you're shooting a guy in cod and they don't die they just disappear or they have put a mod on and they're invincible
