As an old Gen X (1977). I like this style of speech. I know the slang but i wont use it because im old and its not my time anymore. Although i was walking past my boss and her 10 year old. She had no idea what he was saying. Let mud cook, fist bumped him and walked away.😂
'74 here. It helps to have grown up gaming, with old fantasy games like Bard's Tale and the Gold Box SSI games, and then FPS death match with Doom 2, Quake, etc. Only the specific words change, the sentiments are all the same. I could never talk how we talked in the 80s and early 90s.

Funnily enough, as a Gen X myself, I totally understood the vast majority of this.
Not at first, but on the 2nd play through, I totally got it.
An example would be sussy. Which is something we used to say, but just as "sus". And fr, certainly an 80s thing, for real yo.

Slang transcends time itself. As a boomer we had slang that our parents never completely understood, but though the words change the meanings and sentiments are the same. And in many ways, I understood every word spoken.
As a gen z I use these words ironically most the time such as sigma but this video was funny asf 😭😂

I laughed so hard. I'm Gen X and understood practically all of this. Gen Alpha doesn't have any truly original slang.

A lot of these are just implants into words that seem like they would make sense. Rizzed along, it's just came along but rizz seems to have been the most interchangeable word within that statement to supplement for brainrot.

The language survives, because in the end it's what everyone needs, to talk to people outside their subculture. A few new words, or meaning-changes stick from every wave of slang, but the overall grammar and vocabulary continues. The whole point of slangs like this is to confuse parents and teachers, so kids can talk in public and not have the normies understand. But that gets old as soon as you get a bit older, and then standard English whips back into place. So I'm not worried. I'm reconciled to being too old for this bollocks, and I think other stuff is cool and this slang is cringe, so it's fine.
It's nothing new really, the generation after this one will have their own slang too
