Wow. All good headphones where you start wonder if it's the headphones or the mix. That said, for me the standout was the Sundara. I found it hard to find any fault. But I am looking for an openback. Between the Ananda and the MV1 I pick the Sony. A little heavy on the low end, but it was a clean bass and that might be my system here. The Ananda was a little thin even though it had slightly better mids and highs but the Sony was nearly as clear and smooth. Either can be made much better with slight EQ, I think. The DT700Pro is my next pick. The others have their moments of good, but also their moments of bad. Either too thin, lack of clarity, or a little too much listening in "cans" and unnatural. Not bad headphones, but the given the prices, there are better options.
Pair HD560s with good amp/dac and it'll blow all those away. I have both hd560s and Ananda stealth. Without good amp/dac, Ananda is cleaner, more spacious and more bass. With good dac/amp, HD560s make Ananda sound veil and tiny. Almost like you're watching a concert from far away while HD560s puts you in the front row where vocals and instruments sound big and substantial with plenty of good deep bass. Vocals are also more detail on HD560s. Thanks for the demo!!!
Could tell me what the series of hd560s what you got i hope isnt like in hd800 couple of literations with diferend sounding but named model hd 800 but still is couple hd800; without s at the end 😢
@Corporalis If that's the case. It still doesn't matter, I'm going to EQ it anyway. And it's going to sound awesome. Stock tuning is just some sound engineers personal preference.
@@user-hb9fp4vs2f sure I EQ all my headphones but you said there’s only 1 version of the 560s which is simply not true. I don’t want to argue here it’s just a heads up for you, that they updated the headphone, with the same name and they didn’t tell anyone. Like a silent nerf
560s - Good width, separation & good height, layering could be better 900 Pro X - Excellent depth and layering, not big in other dimensions Ananda V3 - Good in all three dimensions, centre image is not very well defined and layering could be better, relative to the price Sundara C - No depth, big width 700 Pro X - more depth than Sundara C, less width Sony MV1 - Small width, well balanced in all three dimensions, though Listening with an Arya Stealth
@@kazuviking That's a quick assumption you made there - that effect can depend heavily on the recording. IMO, the HD 560s has a very good centre image and does not do that. Ananda does to an extent, but it's a vast improvement in that regard to the first version and other earlier Hifiman sets. Sony MV1 also seems here to have a good centre image, although I'd have to listen in person to really know.
@@yamato1420 If you compare the fr response of all of them, you will see a dip in the mids and elevated treble, this gives the illusion of wider soundstage. Btw this sound demo should be taken with a grain olf salt sine it doesn't have an inner ear simulator or pinna functions. When i compared the 990 against the sound demo it wasn't even close, the treble and bass was way way off. The hd560s have a massive peak from 4 to 6KHz which creates the illusion of its "alive". Ananda same story, massive dip between 1 and 2.5KHz and increased treble, this give the illusion of widened soundstage and more detailed.
@@kazuviking The HD 560s has no such dip, it's almost the opposite of Hifiman if you look at it's FR. I know this recording is far from perfect, but it still works to compare some aspects, especially how they tend to image and stage. There is no proof that more treble gives more stage, just a correlation between headphones with treble and how they stage. Just add treble in an EQ and see if you get more. It doesn't happen. The Hifiman dip takes the edge off of a lot of voices and edgier acoustic instruments like guitars and violins. It makes them seem to take a step back, which gives an impression of distance. I prefer it, because a lot of recordings make them too prominent in the mix. The HD 560s sounds a bit nasally to me and somewhat artificial when it comes to voices.
@@yamato1420 That's why i clarified the 560s of having only a upper midrange bump which creates the nasal/thin sounding. The artifical soundstage actually works and its documented, that's why 99% of gamer and cheap heapdhones have a massive dip in the mids and increased treble. Oratory did extensive research into this and found that closer you are to the harman target the soundstage becomes smaller. Almost every super expensive headphone uses this scummy tactic to get an edge while in reality its nothing special most of the time.
Para ser honesto, el Sony siento que sería un digno sucesor si quieres actualizar de un hd560s o equivalente, a mí percepción, mucho mejor que el ananda v3
The best sound demo on internet.
I will go with the Sony MV1, it sounds very good and balance too.
I wonder how a DT 990 would compare to it
Sounds similar to sennheiser 490 pro
Thank you for the sound demo. Hd560S is the winner for me.
i return it, it sounds very distant, cold and not pleasant
@@michaelsi6770 It's designed to creat a larger sound stage, good for binaural recordings, and classical music.
