Antother insane thing about *Seismic Slam* is that *it will continue even if stopped by a wall/object;* meaning that if enemies happen to get knocked back into said wall/environment, they’ll take every hit of the spell and be obliterated
Umbral weapons confuse me...there's a lot of big slow weapons with wither and not a whole lot that are fast. Big weapons interact with wither damage terribly which is a shame because the class fantasy of a dark paladin swinging around a great hammer and wielding umbral magic is cool

@Planterobeets Rosamund is pretty good I just don't enjoy the wither mechanic much. Long swords are still a little on the slower side - namely the followup swings feel sluggish when 2handing and 1handed doesn't have a lot of forward momentum. Nothing wrong with that normally but it can feel bad with wither vs some of the more aggressive late game enemies. I just feel like I'm relying too much on hoping I stagger enemies on swing.

@@youwy i can see that i used magma surge though for initiating fight or when enemies have long standing animations. this spells carried me through a majority of the game. i never used seismic slam that much because magma surge deleted even the strongest enemies in seconds. and always 1 shots the ranged enemies. i consider it the number 1 best spell. also you didn't mention it but after the first cast which is kind of slow you can spam it the cast speed is like 2 times faster after initial cast. i can kill entire rooms of enemies before they ever stand up to move.
@@timothyfloyd3269Agree. It has pretty big range. Can stun lock some elite enemies. I was a seismic slam enjoyer until I really got used to this spell. It helped me kill fire resistant bosses in NG+2
Seismic Slam also has a huge knockback effect. So many times I could just ignore umbral parasites, because seismic slam would just knock the invincible enemies off a cliff or out of their parasite's range. Genuinely the best spell in the game.
I would love to see the Umbral spells! I'm wondering if I should switch to an Umbral build from an Inferno one since so many spells are found late game.

Also for seismic slam, if your target is near a wall, the progression of geysers stop at the wall and hit multiple times in place as the skill needs to still go through its animation. So works well in tight spaces and against walls/cliffs.
The hounds have saved my life so many times. Yes they have down sides but all spells do. Spells are tools and each one is useful in its own situations. The measure of a good mage is being able to identify and force those situations. The dogs have a rather long summon range and like most spells are very good at ambushing targets that have not aggroed to you yet. The spell is also great at crowd control as it is capable of dealing damage and burn to multiple foes. Some of the larger foes like the knights have points in their combos where they are relatively still. By my observations the spell summons three dogs that act as turrets in a triangle formation. They breath fire at any targets in range then readjust their formation and breath fire again. Each dog can track targets independently. That makes the spell good at both focus fire and crowd control. The only real limitation to this spell is space for casting as all other problems can be solved.
I don't like how inferno builds progress in this game. It's waaay too backlogged where you barely get anything early game then it just throws a bunch of stuff at you towards the mid/late game. Also feel like umbral and inferno builds are lacking when it comes to melee options whereas radiance weapons are basically half of the weapon roster lol
Agreed, the game is definitely in favour of radiance over other 2 sadly. As for the fallen lord sword & grinning axe. That's only 2 weapons 1 of which is mid one is end & second both are only inferno scaling.

IME it's basically this: Raw manglers/rusty sword early -> bloodlust at fitzroy's gorge -> fallen lord sword in calnath -> grinning axe late game. Radiance has more great swords than basically the entirety of weapons available to inferno that are good enough to be worth using lol

Yeah, inferno builds really get shafted in this game. I mean the best Catalyst only unlocks after doing a quest through the entire game and defeating the sundered Monarch plus a lot of spells and the best inferno weapons are in the last area of the game
Not a bad list, I'd change a couple placements on things but not bad over all. I play Pyro builds in every souls type game that lets me, biggest thing is to adapt to the situation. Like infernal hounds, I carefully sneak up to larger targets and dont get noticed, pop fire doggos, the eruption spell and walk away. By the time they start moving they are dead. My infernal puppers when properly placed do about 2.5k to 3.3k damage. I will definitely agree to the last spell though, seems they gave Pyros their first unga bunga spell.
The worthwhile one's for me that i used often in my playthrough were Seismic Slam, Magma Surge, Cataclysm, Endurance Buff, Infernal Weapon and lava burst. All the other's do piss poor damage vs the mana cost or situational at best. Out of the one's listed Magma Surge is highly underated on bigger targets, less mobile targets or ranged mobs. You can even free cast it at your location aimed at the ground to hit mobs like the shades or before a boss closes the gap on you. I do wish there was a few more decent spells that built up ignite and burn status more reliably, i think the hounds are one for burn but half the time the spell does not function as it should, you'd be better off with Ignite or Burn on weapons as it is currently.
So i found a glitch for vigor with coffer at vestige of ethryg , if you remove all items from quickcast and go and buy/obtain items and transfer them to the coffer they will stay in a coffer and appear in quickcast menu for you to use and will be able to use them again and again and again i farmed like level 360 in few hrs so it's only buying the skull vigor the one that gives u most "souls" and just taking it from the coffer maxx slot
Interesting that Infernal Orb is so low. It's so reliable that I always have it equipped. I'd much rather use Inferno orb twice over Lava Burst twice. But both are still reallllly good
Yeah, I guess my intuition was good. In my current build I play pyromancer with Infernal Orb (because cast faster, cost less mana, very good to aggro ennemies or kill archers and crossbowmen), Conflagration with my RT to simply melt group of weak ennemies coming at me when in umbral, fire weapon because my build is full Inferno and of course the Seismic Slam when I get bored of my ennemies and want to clear the map. For example in Upper Calrath just before the 2nd beacon when you face a ruiner with 5 hounds, you wait for the hounds to come to you, seismic slam to destroy them and then you just have to deal with the ruiner with a bit more honor
Inferno hounds needs to be higher on the list. Yes, terrain is a problem but when there’s 3 summoned, they shred. Pretty much a guaranteed burn on one cast
I beat the game on an inferno build and Seismic Slam hard carried for most of it. The only bad thing I can say about it is that it's not too great at close range but decent spacing will fix that issue
More I look at Inferno the more sense it makes to play it with the Lord's class on NG(+). It seems the early/mid game is going to be a slog with repetitive spells whilst Radiance is getting a heck a lot more love.
Does anyone else have an issue with purchasing Flame Funnel? For some odd reason I can't get the spell. I beat the game (obviously) I definitely grabbed the remembrance as I can clearly see the option and I was able to buy his original spell. But I can't grab flame funnel. IT just remains 'X' out for me and tells me to grab the remembrance but I did lmao.
Nice video i love your tier lists i wanted to ask if you could do a tier list of catalysts for each magic class because i dont know which one is better or how to find out before upgrading them like Wilmarc Catalyst has 226 spell power and A scaling and Radiant purifier Catalyst has 380 and C+ so which is better in terms of damage also if you could make a tier list of status effects
Inferno is better by itself but str over agl as a few weapons scale with str/inferno. For radiance anything works. Str/radiance Agl/radiance Pure radiance Just so many options for weapons. Game is definitely leaning more to radiance then inferno or umbral but there are still options.

Just saying magma surge by end game for me was hitting around 2800 damage and with the eye that increases duration of the soul grab thing i could get about 5 off on any target that was too fast to hit with it normally
Seismic Slam isn't really good for bosses. You have Cataclysm, which is basically a boss killer, rated really low. Besides buffs, Cataclysm is basically the go to Inferno spell.
Man it sucks cause all the spells im missing are from the tortured lady cause i forgot about her after giving the eye then i remembered her after beating adyr cause i was running around collecting stuff i missed which i cant find her in any of the spawns so i assume shes dead since i killed her hubby
Go to fitzroy's gorge and find the altar of adyr (invasion covenant area). Shortly past the vestige and behind the throne in there you'll find the infernal weapon spell. Pretty OP if you pair it with the bloodlust sword btw, which is another weapon you can find in fitzroy's gorge

Cataclism is the best spell, you can destroy all boses on seconds, my first run was as a piromantic and just needed 1 try for the all boses since Spurned Progeny, i beat the game at lvl 81 50 points on hp and 50 on inferno, gg
it seems like this game suffers from the same issue souls games do. 90% of the spells are just fairly worthless in terms of mana to damage ratio. there are only about 2 or 3 spells worth using. BLAND. i freaking hate that. ER did way better at this than dark souls. but its still in issue in ER too. why is it so hard for devs to make GOOD utility spells? like the fire buddy im sure its decent for chip damage in pvp. but half of these nich pvp spells are worthless for the rest of the game.
tell me the game was rushed without having to tell me Seriously what are the devs even doing with half of the list of spells being pure garbage, then they advertise saying "we have contents to keep players interested for weeks"

Im surprised magma surge isnt higher on the list. Being able to target and 1 shot enemies behind a wall is strong and it can do upwards of 900 damage.
It still gets an S tier for that reason but it didn’t get any higher because it is a little more situational
magma surge is really nice it's just situational. The cast and delay are slow which makes it virtually unusable vs. a decent chunk of enemies

Inferno gets a very good grand sword called Fallen Lord's sword, also if you can get two Grinning Axes they're OP.

The stronger flamethrower spell is really good if you pull an enemies soul out as they are unable to attack you.

Cataclism is the best spell, you can destroy all boses on seconds, my first run was as a piromantic and just needed 1 try for the all boses since Spurned Progeny, i beat the game at lvl 81 50 points on hp and 50 on inferno, gg

once i used seismic, everything became a cakewalk. Done with NG+ quick with no problem
it seems like this game suffers from the same issue souls games do. 90% of the spells are just fairly worthless in terms of mana to damage ratio. there are only about 2 or 3 spells worth using. BLAND. i freaking hate that. ER did way better at this than dark souls. but its still in issue in ER too. why is it so hard for devs to make GOOD utility spells? like the fire buddy im sure its decent for chip damage in pvp. but half of these nich pvp spells are worthless for the rest of the game.

Seriously what are the devs even doing with half of the list of spells being pure garbage, then they advertise saying "we have contents to keep players interested for weeks"
Every souls game also has the same problem with some spells being wastes of time entirely
@@aiellamori this is even worst. In souls is mostly a spell tier, you can't expect a starting class spell that deals the same damage as a 100 MP spell. But this game literally has the first boss spell being the strongest and broken in the entire game. Late game spells like the flame swords from the 2nd or last boss being an upon shit show. Tell me the devs actually tested their own game before selling

the more you play this game, more you realized why it failed. Everything is put against you and even the things that are supposed to help like spells are so redundant that they become useless. Nothing in this game feels right.
