Gary Gears, WIND - Chicago, June 1974, Radio Aircheck

Big voiced Gary Gears was a popular Chicago disk jockey on WLS, WCFL, and in this aircheck WIND, Chicago. From the summer of 1974. Gary was also the voice of Eyewitness News on WLS-TV as well as many other tv and radio commercials.

This guy Gary Gears had one of the best voices in all of radio. Bar none I first heard him when he did most of the promotional messages for WQAM Miami around 1969-1971. He was at KQV Pittsburgh when he did the promotions for WQAM. Sad that he died so young.

Gary gears, was on AFV and in Saigon around 1969 I’ve actually heard an air check and he sounds like he does right here. Except for the jokes about the rockets flying over the studio
