Just want to say thank you for this video. Just managed to clean my lawnmower carb (I’m far from mechanical!) and it’s running much better than it has for some time.
Another quick fix. Thanks for all the amazing videos over the year love listening to him. Happy New Year to you Riley boy, Mrs Pete and all the family have a good one.
Another great video. Aspen - great stuff - Made in Sweden - totally agree to use Aspen - never any problems at all. Wish you and family a Happy New Year 🎉🍾
Good morning (U.S. time), Mick!! Thanks for another year of great videos! Looking forward to more great content in 2023!! I hope you and your family have a Very Happy, Healthy, Prosperous and Funfilled New Year! God bless.
Great videos Mick. My 2008 McCulloch M7053D(07) B & S engine, gave me similar grief almost every year until I fitted a fuel tap and filter. Also use fuel stabiliser and E5 fuel. I make sure I run the carb dry before stowing. Thanks.
@@themowerman Hey Mick, any idea why the OEMs don't fit taps and filters? Cost maybe? Suppose it helps keep yerself busy too haha. Love your videos matey.
Thank you very much. had a nightmare before watching this video thought I'd cleaned the carb completely but missed the idle jet which was the problem now running lovely
Well mate sad to see you got the vid and it laid you out for the live stream but glad you made it on i had tons of laughs for the last day of the year. Hope your feeling better soon so you can get back to work clearing out the equipment that the Mrs. does not know you own.
Very good information thanks I’ve just received a brand new cobra off eBay and it’s ok for 20 minutes and then starts hunting and stops takes me ages to get it going and then starts it all over again. Trying to send it back but having bother with the seller
Good job Mick, glad you were able to get it running even with the jet problem. That is a nice looking little mower. Happy New Year and I hope you and the family kick the covid soon brother. Tell my little buddy hey for me.
hi mick happy new year to you and yours. mick i have had success drilling and using easyouts to remove main jets obviously you'll need a replacement jet but saves old carbs .
Nice one Mick! That idle jet can cause havoc on these Honda clones, its gotta be like a hospital operating theatre in there before they run right! Anyway what's these free freds? Are they anything like fork handles? 😂🤣😂🤣 (think Two Ronnies)
Mick your the man for this one , my sp555v mower , when I turn left or right the pinion gear on the back wheels are jamming/ crunching noise do you know the cause ?
@@themowerman the back wheel has a plastic cog ( the pinion gear is metal held by c lip , and behind the pinion there’s a steel pin ( I did buy a new steel pin but the issue is still there

Hi Mick, just discovered your channel, great video. I'm looking for a cheapish petrol lawnmower and was wondering if you would recommend the Cobra or a Mountfield with Stiga engine? regards Ronnie.
Hi I’ve got the same mower it’s built by DAYE Power in China.. Mine is green and badged as a Tesco mower .. To be fair I think these are as good as Honda I’ve rebuilt mine after years of neglect in lockdown The engine is a DG600. 173cc ..Starts 1st time . It’s lubricants are castrol R racing oil it does smell good… I’ve got all the service parts from Germany there European office ..So DAYE Power build these mowers and get rebadged .
If you have no experience in fixing these things than you shouldn’t try it. Chances are you’re only going to make things worse, that’s one thing I’ve learned in this line of work.

Hi Mick would you choose these cobra engines over the briggs and Stratton 450e they put on some of their cobra’s?
Yes as long as the crankshaft is the same
Anyone know what that silver card part is between the carb and the block? Mines leaking fuel and the silver card bit looks to be degraded...
