Actually, the 2003 series is based on the 1984 comics, which Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman (creators of the turtles) created together. They were way darker than the turtles we know today. In the very first issue, the turtles actually kill Shredder violently (and from what I know, Shredder stays dead). The comics also have blood in them, so... Yup, a lot darker.

in one reality, they Killed the main characters and you saw the silhouette of the action. They blew up that shredder and stabbed him. In another, they vaporized Splinter. And every time Baxter Stockman appeared, he was with one less body part.
The story behind every season was so good, the animation too good to be true... It feels like we are devolving, there is no way we could come up with a masterpiece like this again.

Andi Rose W 4kids has been gone for 2 years. Saban bought the rights to the most of the rights of their properties incuding their Saturday mourning time slot showing mostly old 4kids shows. So, blame them for ending it. Now they just produce their 2 main properties, Power Rangers and Digimon and show them on Nick channels on the weekends.
The new tmnt series is beast! Splinter died TWICE!(the second time in Owari) and it has MORE darker plots and episodes so overall in my opinion it's great.
I'm not kidding, one of goals in life is to find this show in a physical DVD Boxset and put on my shelf, I loved this show so much as a kid! I enjoyed the original series from the little of it that watched in the very early years of my life in the mid/late 90s and it was okay, I liked it, definitely see why kids from thar generation loved it so much, but this show, honestly this is one of my top 3 shows that I would watch all the way through on a yearly basis, I'm even planning on adding a TMNT tattoo to my collection! Love The Guys, love their crazy stories and I hope one day we get a show or a (n actually good) film series (that understands and respects the Lore it comes from) to carry on this shows vibe and style, if you think about this is TMNT's equivalent to The Batman Series, think about it, the stories mostly take a darker atmosphere, the colours are darker, the main characters wear eye masks that render them pupil-less and then they have spinoff/season where the characters are in a future place and have to deal with new and old threats of different origins....I'm just saying.....
Man, I feel old reading all the comments of people saying they watched this when they was young. Lol, I watched the original Turtles when I was young and this came out around the time I was 18. Hell, I remember buying the Mario Kart GameCube game and getting a demo for a game based on this show. It was a good show. Lol now I am 29 and watching the new Turtles show on Nick. I like seeing the different ways they portray the Turtles.
man I prefer the older shows myself, I grew up with original tmnt and this version as well. I will be 30 next month. I grew up with all the classic 90s shows and old school scooby doo as well, I used to watch them all the time at my grandmas house before she died. Back then she had Comcast before it became xfinity and all that. Man the good old school cartoons like recess and the early 2000s cartoons were lit back then. I still watch some recess episodes from time to time on youtube as well. The newer cartoons are complete trash to me now. I miss watching the original teen titans as well, teen titans go is complete trash to me and they are making a new movie based on ttg!! which is complete bs in my opinion. Well at least we have youtube to relive some of our childhood nostalgia @Zrorro.
Wow man after coming back to this for like 6 years the nostalgia though my childhood show I loved it as a kid would watch on dads tv 😂 Much love/respect

I think the lowest point of TMNT has been the Michael Bay reboot. However, instead of pissing off just 80's kids, he's pissing off 90's and early 2000's kids too.
Now I may have been born in 2008 but every time my dad will give me his phone this version of tmnt showed up on yt and I watched it and it has been my favorite tmnt ever sense

Rishabh Vailaya
Yes.
in one reality, they Killed the main characters and you saw the silhouette of the action. They blew up that shredder and stabbed him. In another, they vaporized Splinter. And every time Baxter Stockman appeared, he was with one less body part.
Yeah I cried every time I saw the episode where Donny went to the future.
Donelle Bullock remember that guy Bishop turned into a monster? Bishop turned good later, but he had zero closure.
The story behind every season was so good, the animation too good to be true...
It feels like we are devolving, there is no way we could come up with a masterpiece like this again.
Man. This is the best intro for TMNT.
nah
Yeah!!! Always remember...
*WATCH OUT FOR SHREDDER!!!*
*WE SHREDDED SHREDDER!*
this is literally an entire chapter of my childhood
This is the first ever media source to introduce me to TMNT when I was 5 or 6... so This is the best version of them for me
This is the most lit TMNT song ever you’re wrong if you say otherwiseee
Agreed. 👏🏽😌
this was undoubtedly the best tmnt series they came up with.
Best tmnt series for me
Same here dude; you’re not alone.
Lyrics to my fave version ever:
TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES!
Turtles, count it off!
1, 2, 3, 4 (Turtles!)
Mutant chain reaction (Turtles!)
Livin' undergroooound (Turtles!)
Ninjutsu action!! (Turtles!)
It's a shell of a toooown!
Turtles, count it off!
1, live by the code of the martial arts
2, never fight unless, someone else starts
3, always stick together no matter what
4, if all else fails, then it's time to kick butt!
I love bein' (I love bein')
I love bein' a Turtle!
TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES
Turtles, count it off!
1, 2, 3, 4 (Turtles!)
There's no one better (Turtles!)
Watch out for Shredder! (Turtles!)
They're like no others (Turtles!)
Those teenage broooooothers!
1,2,3,4
1! 2! 3! 4!
TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLESS!
This and the 2007 movie were my actual childhood
Ong they were
i miss my childhood with this
Right in the childhood
Goddamn the pure nostalgia being a 9 year old watching this on the 320 quality television
Yeah i loved watching it
Yeah i loved watching it
i cant believe i still rember this song its been i been like 11 years since this show was aired
Every Wednesday night and Sunday morning I'd watch this along with Sonic X, Yu Gi Oh, and G.I. Joe.
***** I remember watching Sonic X, too! :) Can't believe 4Kids took it off the air and Saturday Morning Cartoons are gone :|
I grew up with the 1980's TMNT, but this was the better show. The story, music and characters development hit hard
I grew up on this version and I still love it today as a 27 year old
NIJITSU ACTION!!
I'd always loved that line!
kooiok
+bristar86 They do ninjutsu!
Cowabunga!
it's your best tmnt theme? 🍕 🐢 ♥
Neironix Really!! Version 3 is the #1 version of the song.
This is the best ninja turtle I have ever seen
Then you must have not watched the 1987 original series
@@ceder8095 i didnt watch them but imo 2003 is best and when i watch 1987 there is no way its gonna be better then 2003 to me
Back when I was a kid, I was introduced to TMNT by this era and I was completely unaware that the series actually existed long before 2000s TMNT.
I love how they snuck in "it's a shell of time!" 😂
LOL.
this is the best ninja turtle ever :D
İ miss 2003 version very and this version is very cool
No coolest version
I LOVE BEIN'! (I LOVE BEIN') I LOVE BEIN' A TURTLE!
ORA ORA
Never realised how rapid this song is
This TMNT theme song is such a shell of a time in history.🐢
God this show..... Nothing will top it. The new one is great, but this was TOO good.
Yep. This show was so kickass back then and still is.
Alex Kelecich I love this opening the most but the classic is the best show.
This is the Real TMNT, not whatever that crap today is
Right!? I mean come on...we have better tehnology it should be better
also forgive my spelling ^^
Sara Lawliet hah
The new tmnt series is beast! Splinter died TWICE!(the second time in Owari) and it has MORE darker plots and episodes so overall in my opinion it's great.
The 2003 version (this one) is better but the new one is cool to
it's not crap
I'm not kidding, one of goals in life is to find this show in a physical DVD Boxset and put on my shelf, I loved this show so much as a kid! I enjoyed the original series from the little of it that watched in the very early years of my life in the mid/late 90s and it was okay, I liked it, definitely see why kids from thar generation loved it so much, but this show, honestly this is one of my top 3 shows that I would watch all the way through on a yearly basis, I'm even planning on adding a TMNT tattoo to my collection! Love The Guys, love their crazy stories and I hope one day we get a show or a (n actually good) film series (that understands and respects the Lore it comes from) to carry on this shows vibe and style, if you think about this is TMNT's equivalent to The Batman Series, think about it, the stories mostly take a darker atmosphere, the colours are darker, the main characters wear eye masks that render them pupil-less and then they have spinoff/season where the characters are in a future place and have to deal with new and old threats of different origins....I'm just saying.....
who's here in 2020?
Me
Same this is a bop
Me
me
I am! Also, my mother brought the turtles to my house from my school because i love that awesome show!
Agreed asuch as I like this iteration of the turtles (mostly because it's the one I first saw) the Nickelodeon show is great as well
Zrorro agree
man I prefer the older shows myself, I grew up with original tmnt and this version as well.
Anyone remember when Leonardo jumped out of that exploding buildin
Wow man after coming back to this for like 6 years the nostalgia though my childhood show I loved it as a kid would watch on dads tv 😂 Much love/respect
I remember this theme song I used to love watching this every day
I’m happy I grew up watching this masterpiece
Aah, much better than 2012 theme.
Even Tho I Love 2012, I Gotta Admit Your'e Correct.
No
You never forget the ones you grew up like 2012 don’t get me wrong but I’ll always love the 2003 tmnt they were the best written and extremely fleshed out
Pluto’s Totally Turtles Channel has treated me good the last few weeks. This, Fast Forward, and Back to the Sewer all come on along with the 2012 show. This introduced me to the show and I am so glad I was able to watch this so long ago!
ahhh the Nostalgia! I love this series and tmnt fast forward! A lot!
I think the lowest point of TMNT has been the Michael Bay reboot. However, instead of pissing off just 80's kids, he's pissing off 90's and early 2000's kids too.
SalmonberryTeaGameFilmHD And modern kids too.
Alexander Kieler guys your missing the point he got Megan fox to play April if that isn't a plus then you may want to reevaluate your sexuality lol
DarkReaper2597 TMNT Fast Forward sucks!!!!
This show was the reason I was addicted to pizza.
No lie
💀💀💀💀
anyone who seen tmnt is addicted to pizza
Growing up Watching Tmnt, I found out what Pizza was very quickly 😂 Best Show Ever💯
@@Wario_Man I'm addicted to pizza ;-;
I’m hyped for Smite releasing TMNT skins. I hope they add this music track to the game!
The nostalgia! The nostalgia!!
I used to watch this TMNT cartoon when I was younger lol!
So good
@Fran Cisco you must be having so much fun copying those comments huh ?
Now I may have been born in 2008 but every time my dad will give me his phone this version of tmnt showed up on yt and I watched it and it has been my favorite tmnt ever sense
this comment makes me feel old af.
Happy 20th anniversary to this series.
is tmnt 2003 really faithful to the comics , I heard they made shredder an alien inside instead of human form , so does this show make it unfaithful to the comics then ?
This has gotta be the best opening to a cartoon I've ever seen. And these guys can really sing.
I still whistle this song when I’m doing stuff so talk about nostalgia
Never listened to this opening before in my life, but this SLAPS
DGMW, I love this theme and this show.
but that was the longest 4 minutes of my life. It felt like an eternity.
This by far is my favorite TMNT theme intro of all time!
Turned 30 and godamn…I was 11 when this came out?
This TMNT theme and the xmen evolutions theme were so godamn good I had to look them up again
This is the TMNT I grew up with. I like the 1987 one, and I haven't seen the new one, but this one is just the best to me.
I grew up with the 1987 version. But the 2003 version is far superior and closer to what the original comic was like.
Now this is the ninja turtles show I grew up as a kid on KidsWB, it was awesome, and that kickass theme never gets old.
4kids back when Saturday morning cartoons ment something cuz now if you want to watch the good cartoons you need cable tv and with that cartoons are on all day making " Saturday morning cartoons " pointless.
The only thing I remember of this show is the theme song, don't remember the episodes, oh well I know it was good.
I'm so glad I grew up with cartoons such as this and 2012 TMNT and not what kids get today...
This song remains me of the game, good time
same... oh, nostalgia...
Mikethespike690 Same. Ugh thr nostalgia.
