03' Turtles was the absolute best version and I will forever die on this hill. It was darker and grittier than the 80's series, the voice acting was great, the characters were well designed, the jokes were actually funny, and when it needed to be serious, it was. It was never not entertaining.
Well the 2003 series is heavily inspired by the original 80s comics, hell TMNT co-creator Peter Laird helped with production and touching up the scripts
@@The_Blue_Otaku Yeah, and Laird went all-out with it because he actually HATES the 80s cartoon and its popularity with a debatably unhealthy passion. For me, the first four seasons were really good overall. Not perfect, there were some decisions I wouldn't have made (chief among them: I'd have kept Oroku Saki human, let him die at TCRI, and made Foot founder Ch'Rell a separate character...and maybe given him the pseudonym Lord Krang as a reference), but overall very good. Then...it went off the rails in a not great way. Ninja Tribunal, Fast Foward, Back to the Sewer...it fell into cheap, derivative gimmickry and toy-based story decisions, similar to the 1987 Murakami Wolf show. I think what happened was leadership changed at 4Kids and the writers no longer had as much free reign to do whatever they wanted. It seemingly became a show by committee. But seasons 1-4 on their own are easily the best TMNT show so far. The 2012 Nickelodeon show was more consistent than the totality of the 4Kids series, but not as good as its first four seasons.

Actually it's not a contradiction if you look at this way, when diplomacy or stealth fails Raph will take the initiative to end fight as soon as possible.

I might be a bit biased, but the 2003 series is by far the best. The characters actually act serious, and there are a lot more “closer to life” themes and lessons in the show. Oh, and the 2003 incarnation of the Shredder is the most evil one by far. Considering that he has absolutely no morals whatsoever, he is a complete sociopath who just kills whoever he wants whenever he wants.

I love your cover! 2003 is my favorite version. I still remember when my dad took me and my brothers to say hi to this older lady who lived very close to us.
