Boy, you really making it hard for me now to order one of these! Sure seems like it would be a sweet set up to have the CarPlay features that are a lot easier to navigate going down the road then irregular old iPhone thanks for sharing it with us
We have been extremely disappointed that the Android Auto loses all of the data fields that our phones show. It's really nice to see your trips distance, current elevation, and so on. Do you know if there is a work around to show data fields in Android Auto? Thanks for the video - good work. Otherwise, we do like the unit.
@@ADV_Agenda No, it is a Samsung Galaxy S22 linked to a Carpuride. I emailed Gaia to see if there is a setting. The function that is missing is called the "stats bar" and it is very helpful to see.
Only if You have your phone paired to it. Most phones have GPS all the Carpuride does Is it mirrors your phone so if it's on your phone it's going to work on the Carpuride if that makes sense..😅 In a nutshell, if you're using Android, auto or Apple carplay, whatever apps are running on those ecosystems will run on the Carpuride. Hey man appreciate the video. I've been hesitant to spend the money on the Garmin, but I need something I can download maps with tjsr people can share. Pretty sure the garmin can share previous trips and I am wondering if this can do that also? If so will it do so offline without my phone?
@@jaybourbon8608 it mirrors your phone, whatever is on your phone will come across thru Android auto or Car Play. That's the beauty of the whole thing. What app are you using for mapping other than Garmin??
@ADV_Agenda Not using anything yet just learning as I go and trying to avoid spending the extra money on the Garmin of its not necessary. Looking for something to load pre mapped offroad trails. Hoping to do the trans wisconsin trail system then the trans American trail afterwards but don't want to rely on GPS or phone in the event something happens. Want maps that are pre loaded.

I totally agree, I didn't want a big tablet but I still wanted to use my phone and the apps on it. Now I get to keep my phone stashed and run everything through the Android auto. It's pretty cool. From my understanding the 702B is the one for the BMW mount. The pro gives you a brighter display and senses the ambiant light and adjusts the brightness accordingly. Also the pro has a compass and a barometer. At least this is the information I got off another review video.

@@jaybourbon8608 cool, I recommend Gaia or Osmand both are really easy to learn and are free. Those will work great on this system
I so want to buy this but it, well Android Auto actually, doesn't allow Backcountry Explorer XE to be used 😞

@@ADV_Agenda it is but it is actually called BackCountry Navigator XE. I use it trail riding in the UK because it has our Ordnance Survey maps on it.
