This was perfect timing for this video to drop! Been doing homework on these 2 units over the last few weeks. I’m ready to pull the trigger, but I’m on the fence about going with the Pro version. Appreciate the clarification on the dual BT function, and the overall comparison man!
That was exactly the kind of information I was looking for from you about a motorcycle tablet. You intrigue me with the tablets on your two bikes, but since I'm an old man, I wasn't too clear on the way to use them. So this video I really did appreciate. I also use Gaia on my phone, good app. I also have a Garmin Montana and sometimes it's not bright enough. You are showing me the stuff that I wanted to see. I get tired of squinting to read or stopping to read the Garmin. Thanks a lot. Ah, the wife and kids watching "Frozen" on your tablet... Cute Texas on the prairie
Good deal, I'm glad to hear that! The big screens really are pretty nice, and it's hard to beat the ability to transfer apps you already use on your phone!
It sounds like the carpuride works like the touch screen in my truck. That is exciting! Plus I have found all kinds of mounts. Thank you very much for this video. Texas on the prairie
Hello from the cold, cloudy US! Haha. Thank you! There's a setting in the menu that'll use your phone's wallpaper as the units wallpaper when you're in the app screen. Pretty cool you can see the bike while riding it 😄!
Friend has one and it makes the android phone so hot that he can't use it. I've read that you have to turn off all the fast charging features, but we haven't tried it yet. Also, it's sad to see all the data fields disappear when you use Android Auto (like on the Carpurides). I like seeing speed, distance, and current elevation. Odd to see that when you just use your phone, you can see so much more information and it doesn't overheat. Those 2 things make me very reluctant to buy one. If turning off the fast charger keeps it from overheating and Gaia adds the data fields to Android Auto, this will really be a great device.
Interesting, I didn't find anything useful when I searched the topic. Are you saying the quick charge feature being turned off helps at all times when connected? Or only helps keep it cool when connected AND charging? I do wish Gaia would show more on the Carplay unit as well. It's nice that Osmand at least shows your speed.
@@SwankyCatProductions I watched a couple of videos about "Android Auto overheats Galaxy S22". They said to turn off all 3: Fast charging, superfast charging, and fast wireless charging. I turned off all 3, but haven't had a chance to try it out yet.
@@SwankyCatProductions On a related note, I reached out to Gaia. I asked them if it is possible to see the "stats bar" (what they call it) on Android Auto. They said no, but I submitted a ticket to the development team requesting that they add it. Seems like a shot in the dark, but it's worth a shot. At least they pointed me in the right direction.
No, he's just got an old Garmin Nuvi 40LM, which is much smaller. I had a 6" Nuvi on the T7s bar for a while, and it was pretty big. You may be able to make one of these 7" Carplay units work though. Probably need to stand it off the bar a little ways and possibly get a slightly bigger windshield to cover it.

I have the 702 , it’s great , it means I can use my phone as a camera when seeing scenery and don’t have to have it exposed to the elements.
Yeah, I definitely like being able to keep my phone in my pocket!
Great video, very useful 👍
How did you change the logo and wallpaper?
Best regards from sunny Spain...

Does your dad have one on the T7? Does it fit on that bar above the T7 display without interfering?

Does the 702/pro show ambient temp ?
That would be really nice! But I don't think so.
nice unit...but kinda expensive for what it is...rugged tablet and OSMAND.....way to go....I like all apps to be on unit, not cast from a phone. Garth
Mmm, yeah I can see that being much nicer!
Just so people know you can buy that bar mount the pro comes with separately on line.
Great info, thanks!
@ wasn’t trying shit on your parade I just thought people would like to know. Have followed from the start … great content 👍🏻
