Loving the video, I'm schooling myself right now. It's class time, and I've watched different people with different techniques. I'm gonna try to incorporate a mixture of techniques I guess. I'm kinda stuck after the inspection of my belt moldings. There's nowhere to tuck a film on the top. It goes from chrome to rubber with pretty much no give. Don't want to start pulling rubber around because my belt moldings are $220 a piece and I don't want to go that route. I have a 2011 Cadillac CTS, and I'm curious if you have had any experience with these?
Laying down knifeless tape is not rocket science....just give it a go and if you did not get it straight or perfect pull it up and try again....watching someone do it is not always going to ensure that you can then just walk away from the video and do it just like him...much of what he is doing he is doing it for the first time since every car or truck is different
You could always just use a black chrome film, although with the chrome film being thicker it would make it a little more difficult to conform the same way.
Looks a lot like my Camry. I have no idea how I'm supposed to go about wrapping the rear corner trim with it having multiple seams. But do you need to pre and post heat cuts or anything or is that only if you stretched it?
Would be cool to do a video on the B pillar in Lexus like this vehicle. It's a common spot for chips and people want to know how to Black Gloss vinyl wrap the B pillar
Do you tend to order both 1" and 2" to avoid excessive waste? I'm doing my X5 and have noticed some areas of the window trim to vary- Or do you go with 2" all the way?
Can someone please tell me why this shit is so expensive???I dont know the usual price i was thinking no more than 100 bucks considering its a fast and easy job BUT I asked in tinting shop how much would they take for trim delete in my camry and he said $2000 ....are you out of your fucking mind??? and he said that the car will be at least 2 days in the shop WTF???why they trying to rip someone for 2k dollars for such an easy job i don't get it seriously all windows tint is avg 300 and something like a window chrome trim delete is 2k??? this is ridiculous!!!
It's not a fast and easy job, it's a long a tedious job to do correctly, with experience it will look easy, but to end up with a professional finished job it's not that easy, in Texas chrome deletes in my shop average from 250 -1k , all depends on the job.
So did you put the cutting tape on the rubber or then chrome part ? I have same car and i know that the rubber and chrome are "1 piece" so you put the edgeless tape on the rubber where it meets the chrome or on the chrome ?
CK Wraps got it well im trying to find a roll of wrap like premium style wraps im in toronto also have emailed you guys, seems like something i can tackle myself just having a hard time finding enough vinyl thats cut to about 2in strips
+shanStreetracer we don't sell the strips. We just cut the strips off of the roll of gloss black since we always have gloss black for roof wraps and other things.
I think I would just mask everything off good, stick some thin cardboard where the window would be and just spray paint the trim. Maybe a stupid idea but less tedious and much less time consuming......surely.....

For the rear trim since it has a much sharper angle you can use a sheet of vinyl in t the shape of a square that covers the whole area instead of trying to conform a strip of vinyl to the sharp turn.

Have you ever used the "trim hold" material? First I've heard of it. I'm assuming it's meant for areas with high stretch, like the edges of mirrors.

So after you pull the wire of the tape, what do you do with the remaining tape that was left underneath the wrap??

It’s the trickiest part of the whole job. But he showed how to use the knifeless tape so Same concept but you need a bigger piece of vinyl

If you dont want seams, You have to use a bigger piece of vinyl but it has that same rubber seal so you need the knifeless tape again.

I am doing a full chrome delete myself on my Infinit q60. Do you have to add heat after doing the process that you did?

Do we need to use a heat gun afterwards?? Or heat is ONLY needed when we want to stretch the vinyl?
For the most part, heat is to help when you need to stretch or reshrink wrap, and heat is also used to shrink corners before you cut.

I don't order either. I cut film from the master roll and save whatever is unused for later.
