I can't get the software to work with Oculus VR. All I see is the split videos, not combined. Are there any other settings that I can try that might work?
yes, there in th 3D sbs, both the two sides are recorded from two different angles where each side represent the different angled eye view. though you convert your video into sbs by this app, it's impossible to have 3D experience... you can try it for 2D big screen view.

When you convert 2d to sbs, the app shifts both the frames slightly to mimic what a 3d dual camera does. This way you get a slight 3d effect. I have viewed the video I made in a set of VR glasses and the effect was actually there.
Actually thats what the software does. It slightly crops both videos from the sides and place them such that they align the way the would if they were recorded by two different cameras. I tried it with VR glasses and there is a 3D effect.
@@MiiBooth sure it has a alight 3d "affect" but it's not 3d, there is no depth. if I looked at you, one eye would be able to see one side of your nose and the other your other side. One eye isn't going to be able to see both sides. That's why vr gaming is perfectly crisp and works coz its rendering 2 individuals frames from a 2 pds

+Rest Stroke Thanks. Homido player will play any standard video in SBS VR mode, You don't need to convert it. It is for normal media players like VLC that you need to convert the video first.
+Xander Lincoln when you're in split screen mode, only one of the sphere icons can be tapped. I think its the left one but try both to see which works.
you should be able to. Just tap on the sphere icon like I've shown in the video. Only one of the screens in active when in SBS mode so you have to try and tap on both.

You cant create vr video out of normal video, it will always stay just 2D video. You need to record your footage with two cameras...

You need a second camera recording at the perfect distance from each other to get any sort of depth/3d
