got me some 77 AF1 Hollow 9.5" and i am in love. The 66 on my 10 inch board was good and with fat OJ super juice the width was fine, but with the not so wide slimeballs it was always a bit too narrow for me. 9.5. is the best size! I also had 10 inch Indys, but they were too heavy and I preferred ACE
I've got the AF-1 66 (former 55) and according to their own info, some construction material upgrades have been done. Also washers measures, bushings and pivot cup changes. New ones are round versus the older round/squared cups. Smoother turns, they say.
I heard the bushings changed from the old ones hoping that's not true. The pivot cups are urethane like Riptide replacement cups which is an awesome change
awesome!.AF1, the pivot cups are way better, and the bushings. and you wont need axle spacer. and the turning is different. the quality is way better on the steel/aluminium aswell.
I don't think I have ever heard of these trucks. I've skated ventures, indies, world industries, royals which were my favorite as a kid only skated 1 pair and they were used but freakin loved them, destructos, thunders and I cant think of any others that I have tried at the moment but awesome video man you got me Intrigued in trying these trucks
Remember kids is never okay to buy skate stuff from Amazon! Buy at your local shop. If you don't have one you can buy from someone else's local shop online. #skaterssupportingskaters
new af1 pivot cup is hand poured , metal is more stronger , bushings got 0 break in time so no need for bones bushings , axle nut got built in rethreader n has the red dye
I believe the changes are in the metal, and the bushing shape. Also they changed the urethane in the bushing and pivot cup. Let me know if the feel different. Very interested.
Can you do a review on all of your boards, what you like, I’m 34 and just started. I’m 220lbs and a 7.5 was too small, felt unsafe. Went to a longboard and now I’m finally enjoying myself.
Long time sub. but not a fan of not doing homework before posting the vid. I feel you could have explored the changes by reading up first. Lots to like about the new Ace AF1. They are lighter and grind really well. Prob a bit quieter than Ace classic. Still love the feedback I get from Thunder Ti set, but Ace AF1 are v close and still turn and respond nicely. Vid request - Get out and get some Mimi’s kerb action going. Love to see a follow up vid showing 30 min of you cutting sick grinding over and over. Nice close up shots of before and after a sesh as Mimi’s. Peace out.
I’m really interested in seeing how these ride. Those squishy bushings seem, well, squishy, for a guy of my size (220lbs). I find the height a bit worrisome too.
Well I'm about 230 and I rode them today on the street. They felt fantastic. I'll be using them in the bowl this coming weekend. So far I'm way into them.
The new 55's are for 875's now they used to be 9 inch now thee 66 will replace the 55 and the 77 is just totally new all together they never had em .the dimensions are different as well as bushings and pivot cup.try to put old hanger on new plate and you will see just how different they really are 🤙also if you look at the axels you can see the size that is another new feature 😉
How do you get a perfect center groove like that on both of your trucks? My grooves are always on the outside most part of my hanger right by the wheel and diagonally in the center from smiths? My back truck has had a center groove from slashing but it eventually blends in from smiths. How did the front truck get one as well?
Hey man, are you in the Austin area? I'm 52 and started mountain biking about six months ago and love it, I'm thinking about getting a skateboard (used to skate back in the 80s). Any good beginner parks or local shops you would recommend? I'm over in Bertram.
@@ProdigalSuns got you sir much appreciated 😉🤜🤛 Can get the indipendent 169 hollow forged for an unbelievable price to you think with other bushings I can get as turnie as the Ace trucks? Because that's what I really want ( coming from carver surfskate trucks) Much respect and love from Germany
@@ProdigalSuns Thx 🙏 sounds good so you mean the indipendents are as turnie as the Ace trucks? Because of the bushings Iam about 80kg its about 178lbs so could work because of the softness for me 😁?

"Old man getting excited." Your not that old. I'm glad you were excited.
"That's what....you don't want 'her' to say". And you definitely don't want to hear "let's take this this out before anyone gets hurt".
I ride 166 ace but just seen they got 177. I’m 6”4’ so pretty excited that I just ordered my first pair of 177. Thank you ace for making big guy stuff
Bro they also have 180 mm 10" axle... that's all I ride now.
Thought i was Indy for life but Ace stole my heart 🙌
Same companies I thought
The biggest redesigned feature is there is about a 2mm increase in wheel base with the af1. The alloy is less buttery too
Congrats on your new trucks, As soon as I can skate I buying some. I heard they run like Indys used to.

@@ProdigalSuns Enjoy them!
Ace AF-1 hanger in move back 1/4", like an Indy. But the turning radius is still the same. Bushings are just gnarly.
can you do an update on these trucks versus the ace classic 66's. im interested in the af1 77's
Bro my kids and I were inspired to start our own lil skate channel of our progression cause of you. We just uploaded our first episode
Dude thanks for the like and highlight made my night after an epic day out with my famz

We talking aces? They cool don't know your hitting the cope sometimes things squeek a little more than shralp.
You get toa certain old man age where your drinking miller lite (alotofem) and riding Indy's and acers

Yes I'll do that. That's a good idea. Thanks
The upgrades to me make the trucks a bit more expensive than I want to spend. The classsic Ace trucks I am quite pleased with

The express shipping probably cost more than the trucks

Ride then today, they feel great 👍

North East metro in pflugerville 👍 yep
@@ProdigalSuns Thanks, I didn't know about that park, and they also have a BMX track, that's awesome.
If you put bones in your changing the geometry you'll have to add washer under the regular washer I use 2 bones washer under the ace
I use bones without any washer on the bottom.
Wait, with ace 77 I use the stock bushings.. it's the only truck I use with stock bushings.
Have an Powell odshool ripper 10 inch...not sure to go with the 66 or 77.?
It depends if you prefer to be on the wide side or not. The 77 is 9.5 inches so I would like to go 77 more.

Will ace 77 fit on a 10 inch deck?
Yes
🔥🔥🔥
They may look the same but they are not my friends
You’ve seen the ace 80s
Oh yes, my favorite. I've bought 3 sets. Thanks for telling me though if I didn't have them I'd have been excited to hear the news. Do you like them?
your groove shouldnt be in the middle bro. doesnt that throw you off? mine are near the wheels on both side
When you are the first)
You're the winner today👍
Hell yeah he is
Are those fake grooves?
Haha, yes
That's how I roll. 😆
A
Af1 66 = 8.75 I ride them
