Crazy that the 215s weigh twice as much as a narrow Tensor mag light low. 1/4” is a huge difference in height between the Indy and Thunder so it’s interesting that the Thunder has better kingpin clearance. I’d be riding a 6mm riser with the Thunders and fitting the inverted kingpin to the Indy and swapping to hard bushings.
Keep up the good work 🤘new products reviews is always interesting.I my self has had a pause from skateboard a few months but now my body is ready for it again.🤘😊
Those look awesome! When I started skateboarding again I just went with indys since i was clueless on the new brands. Thanks for the review and unboxing Prodigal! Can't wait to see you shred on those. Maybe these are the difference you need to crush that curb in the parking garage! Keep up the good work!
I haven't tried the Ace trucks yet ....my indys ride soooo good with Bone soft bushings...,, I like them loose. Currently own 5 full set ups with Indy 159s, and 169 for my 9.25. Yeah dude!!!!
To get the loose feeling on a 215 (or any truck rly) what i do is replace the bushing w/ the 92a Indy ones and take the top washer off so i don't hear it clinking AND for more turnability. The extra hardness of the bushing makes up for no washer, and i tighten the kingpin further down so it duzn't stick out. I still ride @ least 1/8 risers, cuz i'm a heavier guy that likes to turn on a dime, so i set my boards up for minimal wheelbite. Took a while to get used to riding higher. I'm also a Ace 66 Classic & 169 fan, but i'm tryna get my hands on the 77s for sure.
I ride a dead Dave pro model from Heroin skateboards, a shaped 10.125” big boy, and only trucks I could find to match were Indy 215’s. I like them, but I’d love to try Thunders offering!
Also yes please keep it up, I realize it’s probably not easy to be a content provider, my hats off to you for being able to keep the subject matter relevant and interesting for us older rats, theres a million and a half channels featuring youngsters absolutely pulling tricks from another reality, fun to watch? Sure...can it be applied to skaters that are half of a hundred years old? Not so much.. Keep ripping and sharing your progress, even if you back it off a little to make room for living, us subs will understand.. but a heartfelt thanks to you and Killian for taking us with you this far at least..
Still digging the channel big time! Regarding music - not the biggest fan of what you had going. If anything, I'd suggest some very light ambient/experimental/instrumental stuff in background (or not) but keep the natural sounds of skating, grinding, hoots and hollers as the main sound. The sounds of the skatepark and skating are cool and add to the vibe imo.
I've been curious about thunder trucks, I always ride Aces on my "smaller" setups(9.5-10") and gullwings n' indy 215s on my 11 and 12" boards. Now knowing they have a massive truck I may give em a go.
Keep the content coming. My 8 year old just recently got into skating which has brought me back after a long time away. I do have a question for any and all who read this. If you could only set up one transition board what would your complete setup be? Thanks again.
Love the content and am considering the 181mm Thunders as I to have the 180mm Bear trucks and to get the Bear trucks where I wanted them too many tweaks had to be made. Risers, harder bushings. I agree with the wobble on the 215s but I just put in some Khiro hard bushings and that helped out tremendously. Now the 10" Gulling Mission Trucks I can't find anywhere.
38 years old been skating 34 of those years pretty consistently I’ve rode every truck imaginable and I’ll always ride Indy’s . Thunders the wheels rub before the base plate on any tail or nose / blunt slides and it stops you , the turning is pretty close on both , the Indy bushings are trash but even squished or blown out it’s not like they don’t work they just look busted .
Been an Indy man for ages. Tried Aces and felt too turny unless cranked. Switched to Thunders finally and I have tosay I really like them. Low feels nice on street especialy. Pop feels snappier - hopefully you enjoy yours too Prod.
curious what you think, I just switched to thunders a few months ago and they are not for me, a little too low to ride any wheel bigger than a 54mm. Deff going back to ventures or indy TI after these
@@ProdigalSuns hard to compare ,I liked them but I also like Indy's,I think wheel selection makes the biggest difference,I think it's hard to get the trackers now anyway,3 or 4 years ago they were quite popular on skateboard forums for bowl riding that's why I purchased them
Concerning your wheelbite issues: You’re not riding the stock bushings, are you? You’re way too heavy for them (like me). Get hard bushings. Preferably some Riptide or Venom. Don’t bother with the Bones Hardcore.
@@ProdigalSuns I do like Bones Hardcore, but because of their conical shape you‘re just too heavy for them, except if you’re using their barrel shaped bushings.
great review vid as always ,,, i love my 215 but they are a little weighty the grams shaved off the thunders will definatly help to give a lighter overall board feel ,.also finding 215 in stock in euroland was like finding hens teeth ,took quite a while
Thanks for the side-by-side compare. Good info. Especially with the scale.
;)
good evening, Prodigal~ Omg~ really outstanding footgae! 💥
Thank you

I love Thunder Trucks. A lot of the Alva guys rode them and they were so punk rock.

Hey bro any chance your last name rhymes with Thrasher? If so I'm going to mention you in my next bowl video😁👍🙏
Heheh not exactly rhymes with, but swap the first E of my name out for an A, and yessir!

Ill keep an eye out for a skate comparison of the thunders 181s and the ace af1 77.
I’m curious to see which is better in the bowls
I'll do that this weekend👍

Great idea for a video I'll do that this weekend. Thank you
My current set up is the JM Duran flight deck with ace 77s 1/2" risers 56mm 99a wheels and ccs ceramic bearings

That’s some wide trucks man
great vdieo
I've been waiting for someone to do a review noice.
For a average OG I hope you find my opinions useful👍
@@ProdigalSuns I was thinking about these on a bowl board, I can't stand the feel of indys

nice trucks! it would be very nice with 60mm wheels!
Thanks in going to run 62mm this weekend👍
Howdy buddy wanted to let you know I did your skate content and hope you keep doing more videos have a nice day
Ive literally been looking for these trucks for close to 3 years now. A skateshop actually asked me today if I wasnt sure I didnt mean 161 smfh.
Lol 😆
What kind of knife is that? It looks nice. I like the color. Harder to misplace.
I love this inexpensive Buck knife from bass pro shop. They also have a larger size. Really easy to put razor sharp edge on. I highly recommend it.

Wow, I have 62mm wheels mounted with 1/4 inch risers. 😳
Funny when I search online it says that the Thunder weighs 370gram.
It's been a bit since I've watched any of your videos. I work too much and don't skate enough and I'm hardly on UA-cam anymore
Naaa Naa Nuh Naaaaaa, Nuh Nuh Naaaaaah....Thundaaaaar!! (Trucks)
I got a pair of Independent 215 coming in for a Lucero 10 inch board. How do you feel about those?
Regards Prodigal, keep it up!
I like them a lot but I think I might like the thunder even better. 🤔 I'll see this weekend.
@@ProdigalSuns Right on! Let us know ;-)
everytime i jump on my ACE AF-1 I am stoked. Dont even want to ride my indys anymore.
They have got to be the best. I agree 👍 💯
@@ProdigalSuns what's your other channel?
New sub! Liked 🙏😮
Thank you👍
Why not give Tracker Darts a review? They come in big sizes too.
I don't know whether they still make the 184s ,I have a couple of pairs they are awesome but have broken three kingpin bolts
Aren't they a 11 inch truck?
