Having ML units that seem like they are garbage isn't fun either. I think it's actually fun that they are releasing strong ML5s every rotation now as the game changes quicker and we don't go back to the 10-12 months of all Arena defenses using SSB+Arby and that's it.

If we don't consider moona, Believe it or not, Broman actually kinda work against her. Def break + 2 turn silence prevent her cleanse and also stop laia and handguy. The issue? 75% is not good odds, and you will need to build him with ton of effectiveness while also very fast
Saying “ML Luna exits” when she completely shut down any passive skill unit in general is not an option, + you can just use a cleanse like laia and all Luna works doesn’t exist any more also.

I think the problem might be the fact that Pen was a mistake and the fix to the mistake came way late and at a bad time. That being said Ilynav has always been my fav unit so I'm still using her even if they nerf.
If you trace back this logic it means units like carmin or fcc with aurius are a mistake since def pen was a response to that meta. carmin/fcc type tanks were a response to classic cleave. card/gacha games are just a revolving door of the next broken thing so it's a natural evolution but they might have accidentally shifted the power balance more than intended this time.

@@Mustar1989 well if you trace the logic defense pen was necessitated by stacking dmg mitigation. stacking mitigation was necessitated by the fact that dmg had 3 multiplying stats (atk, crit, cdmg) while defending had 2 (hp, def) with diminishing returns. so based on that logic then the root of the problem would be how survivability is designed in E7 and everything else was a necessary band-aid fix.
that is definitely bad idea to give her Aurius since if she dead, those Penetration resistance is gone. you are just going to play her as tanky as possible or tank with good dmg to heal/lifesteal from her S1.
I have a burning hatred for the current meta, so for now, as is, she's the absolute best ML pickup I've had in my one year of playing. She may not be available for RTA anytime soon, but I'll enjoy her stomping around gw and Reg Arena.
It's fine, I'll just bring out Lilibet more. Sure Ilynav will make Lilibet's Pen set useless but she still has one of the highest scaling damage skills that don't have any Pen in it so now Lilibet one of the highest damage dealers when they got Ilynav lol.

And in a game where you can't expect to have nerfs, then there's no other way but to deal with this unit to change the meta. The real problem is people who are gonna spam this and then pick the units i mentionned earlier. But overall, we needed something to balance the defense stat cuz that was gonna be as useless as "ER" with every unit that has ignore ER now and i clearly don't want this

So the meta has basically revolved around completely sniping key characters and having game being determined by how many people you can one shot. That's like the least interactive game on planet earth. Ilynav is a solution to the problem that is more deeply rooted in the current mechanics of the game - like how BMH was designed STRICTLY to handle Arby way back in the day. The problem is still there, we're only putting a bandage on the bullet wound. Valky then complains that his strat doesn't work but he should be more upset at the state of the game that in order to make a useful character, they must invalidate other characters. He's groaning about Lilynav when he should actually be groaning about how overtuned every unit since the last 6 months have been and the only way to make a good character is to completely take a fat dump on the previous 4 broken, overtuned, brainless characters
