I really appreciate that you took the time to make this video. Extremely helpful. A true beginner video that spells out everything out. So many "beginner videos" are almost click that teach nothing.
I know what you mean, thanks for the comment glad you found it useful🦅
One would also want to place the bait slightly up stream in current for catfish so the smell of the bait would wash to the fish and they will come hunt a short distance for the bait! Catfish hunt by sight, smell and vibrations! Nice tutorial video!
Thank you, very valid🦅
I got 20 dollar rods and 150 dollar rods. And Shakespeare makes good rods from $20 to $60. One of my favorites is the Shakespeare wild cat, only 20 bucks and hard to find now. I wish I would of bought 5 of them lol. I don't care for their Reels though. But I do love you can get everything you need at Walmart for cheap to get catching channel cats. Great video. Still got half to watch so I paused so I could comment my thought before I forgot lol. I'm going to finish watching it now. 💪
I still go to my Shakespeare lol
@@battlefor1billiondollars nothing wrong with that and I also still do. I love my Shakespeare Wildcat and I got a bunch of different versions of the Ugly Stik catfish rod. I got a few Shakespeare's that I've had for 20 years
I’ve got a Shakespeare Durango combo that I used to catch a few tiger Muskie they’ve definitely got strong rods🦅
Cool spot! Nice video sir 👍👍👍
Thanks for the video it was very educational and fun to watch keep on catching the cats
Thx for the tips n love your videos 💯
People look down at those tiger rods. I still have one that I bought in 1997, from my first visit to Walmart. The original reel just broke last year. It was the 2nd rod that I bought. I now have over 30 rods and still bring it when bank fishing with live bait. It casts better than most of my other rods of various lengths, sizes, and price rage. The biggest thing I've caught was a 17lb striper and it handled it well. And that was on the original line and reel
👍 excellent video great for us beginners... heck yeah !!

Forreal lol he had some energy🦅
Man, I would love to catfish down there. I just don't like the location especially now that I sold my old truck. When I had that hunk of junk, no problem. Nice catch.
Thanks for the video, man 👍
Any time! Hope it helps🦅
I never had a catfish break 30 lbs monofilament line in N M. No where on the Rio Grande River. Just thinking about my boss hawg combo I like using for catfish like my Dad use to. Thank you for giving us your time.
Yes 30#is a great line to catch all cats even a 40+pounder.. THANKS FOR THE COMMENT

Nice vid cam u should try a catch and cook at the river
I catch and release all catfish, plus the river is totally contaminated with chemicals and metal witch most people don’t know
Oh really I did not no that cause iv been wanting to do a catch and cook
@@CatfishCamerona year late but do you have any tips on how to tell which rivers and water bodies are contaminated?
how many inches of line should be at to add the weight?
Around 12-24 inches
