Here's video of how low it is when in 4 low..... I've literally gotten out and let it drive itself for hours checking dirt road ditches for arrowheads ua-cam.com/video/C9qjC_RiyE4/v-deo.htmlsi=xZjNYnk1VMg-0p-n
I did a through out bearing recently and my fluid leaked out but I replaced it with 5qts of red line mt 85 gl4 and mixed in one 2 qt mtf valvoline synchromesh; then just recently my transmission got stuck in 5th gear with a slight plastic burnt smell and for the life of me I can't figure out what it is so any help would be appreciated
@@chastblind7606 yeah I added more synchromesh and it worked fine until it did it again so I took it to the shop and my dual disc clutch was messed up so I changed it for a single disc heavy mass and it works like a charm 👌
Mine just got stuck in 5th gear. Now I realize my truck has been putting itself in 5th even if I put it in a different gear. I don't understand how. But it is.
@@letsgetit3310 i don't know if this might help you but there are 3 or 4 ball bearings that sit behind the gear selector in the transmission that are spring loaded that could be faulty or it could be your forks are worn out and your 5th gear is your only one in good condition; But somebody can correct me if i'm giving wrong advise or can give clearer advise ( shade tree mechanic here)
Just a tip to get 5qt in fill it at the top PTO bolt
Thanks for the video. I too use that gear oil RTV and that stuff is incredibly strong. Getting stuff back apart when that stuff is on it convinced me.
The amsoil is now available in quart squeeze bags. I don‘t think I spilled a drop! Great video!👍
My NV4500 and Chevy 5.7 are an awesome combination..... that 6.34:1 low gear combined with 4LO is SERIOUSLY BADASS
Or dump it through the shifter
Thats my exact set too! Is 1st gear with 4 low supposed to be like a crawl function?

Would there be a downside to not removing the whole cover and just removing the bottom plug? That way you wouldn't need to remake the gasket.
You can do that, I took it off because I had never been inside this transmission and I wanted to have a look
Great tutorial about specific oil needed. Could you tell me where you purchased that oil. Thanks
You can buy it right off the amsoil website
Always enjoy a good how to video.
I have that same combo scraper. Works great😂
I was told my dealer to run 75w 85 GL4. Is that ok in your opinion?
GL4 is what is required for it so yes should be fine

Any idea what happened

Great video thanks
What are the torque specs please?
I'm not sure, It really doesn't take alot, I did "sorta tight and a quarter turn"
@@imi1667 so like 1/3rd farmer or 1/2farmer?
Aww man you didn’t show how to get the last quart in by taking the gear shifter off
I took out the highest bolt of the pto cover and filled it to 5 quarts there. I also used a little hand pump to pump the oil in
Thanks:-)
