Simple and a very useful design. I made it because steel in the scrap yard is cheaper than in the store. With this machine, I can quickly clean up rusty steel and save some money to buy other materials.
You can use a motor instead of a drill. It is possible to mount more wire wheels. However the amount of wire wheels used in my construction for me is enough :) The drill is two-speed, its power is 700 watts. I used first gear because the power of the drill is bigger and it doesn't throw dust with great force.

Fantastic! Exactly what I need to clean up some strips of wood that have mud and dirt on them.
I'll probably use non-metallic brushes though so I won't damage the wood with grooves.

Very , very cool. I thought for sure there would be an issue with the wire wheels grabbing the material and throwing it but that doesn't seem to be a problem at all. 👍

Great tool for fabricators. I get a lot if my metals from a surplus dealer and much if it is stored outside, a lot of time is spent cleaning, this would save tons if time.

Great idea for cleaning off rust and mil scale
I am thinking you could put these bronze/brass brushed on the chainsaw planer head as well and would have a killer tool for cleaning a teak deck on a boat prior to varnishing.
