Boy, would I ride with you two on those beautiful scenic roads with my GS 1250 ! Thanks for the ride! My riding season is over, here in Quebec ☃️❄️! 🥹😉🏍️
It’s a great ride for sure 😊 Fantastic bike the R1250 😎👍🏻. Riding season is almost done on Switzerland too -but if we have a mild winter there will still be some days to get out. Maybe snowmobile time in Quebec 😉
Yeah can totally recommend Switzerland as a riding destination, you can’t ride fast (but then where can you these days) but the rides are so spectacular! Maybe you’ve already seen them out there’s a few videos of Switzerland in this playlist that might tempt you to visit 😊 ua-cam.com/play/PLl_mRzVHVQ0xN6hpboQjhpn9x4nhoGLkx.html&si=zQRMhbN9epkfKfix
Guess not, it a bit more sporty looking. That said it’s extremely comfortable and would be great for long distance touring. Really good off road too 😉 ua-cam.com/video/Xu9_Dnm_yxA/v-deo.htmlsi=BfsFstWQ2175uPSa
Hi sean and emily, Great video! I've never been to Germany but it looks stunning, And 👏to the filming on bike and the drone footage very impressive. Out of my 30 bikes 🏍 I have owned I have never had a bmw, I never run down a bike I haven't ridden, but the styling of them is not my cup of tea, are you impressed with the R1300GS, Stay safe, Best wishes from Roy in England 👍 😊.
Hi Roy, yeah Germany has many beautiful places (there’s a few videos on the channel in various locations). Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for your kind words 😊. Styling perhaps is not to everybody’s liking but the function of these bikes is the main priority if they are used as they are intended. Personally I like it, in fact I was really impressed with it from when we did the Off road training weekend on them 😎: ua-cam.com/video/Xu9_Dnm_yxA/v-deo.htmlsi=1FvSnD5Qyx-n_Ch3
Fantastic roads and scenery,, and again the video footage is first class. You just make me want to jump on my bike and visit these amazing parts of the country you travel through 😃👍. But those BMW bikes..Wow, With so many safety features ,, they're quickly becoming like the car's we drive. I can't really comment on them. Iv not even come close to trying one. I'm still back in the days of having an electric starter, fuel gauge, ( that doesn't work) and a self oiling system for the chain ( that i fitted myself) is really modern. I know anything that makes life safer to use is a big thing these days, but i can't help feeling its all becoming a bit robotic. Yes you still have to lean and steer it in the right direction but everything else is is becoming redundant. I guess I'm saying you just can't beat a bit of old school biking . Keep it up. Loving the channel. 🙂👍👍👍
Hi glad you enjoy the videos and channel 😎👍🏻. I get what you are saying about the old bikes being very raw which is great for a short ride around the block. But for long distance touring in unfamiliar places for 10 hours a day in all weathers the safety features are most welcome indeed and save lives. Modern ABS for example will stop the bike quicker and keep it upright better than any rider without it, traction control and rain modes keep an eye on power delivery (the power of modern bikes has increased a lot). But if you want to you can turn them all off and live on the edge 😉. These bikes by no means ride themselves but they have the electronics to assist you when you need them the most. You should go test ride one -I’d love to hear your thoughts on it 😎👍🏻
@SeanandEmily totally agree with everything you said regarding the safety features on new bikes👍👍, but ultimately, the most sure footed way to drive any vehicle is to adapt to the different driving conditions. Yes abs, traction control and many other new safety features are a great help in keeping you safe but they're not totally failsafe. As I've mentioned before in previous comments, I've traveled the length and breadth of the uk, and done some marathon tours of Europe ( solo and two's up), not to mention what might be called riding round the block, commuting to and from work ,in all sorts of weather conditions , with not even the hint of TC or ABS . I always drive to road conditions and have the attitude of " expect the unexpected , it's helped keep me safe for the last forty odd years . Showing my age now 😃. Yes, might look to up grade my bike. Will see how the finances are. Lol. . Take care, both of you. Loving these trips. 🙂👍👍👍👍
An awesome ride & video once again! This part of Germany is my absolute favorite. I have been there so many times with my bike and I'm already planning a new trip there. Garmisch Partenkirchen is also a quite charming city in my opinion. Is Oberammergau already familiar to you? Looking forward to part 2!
Thanks very much! Glad you enjoyed the video. Actually this area is not that familiar to us as we tend to head to central Switzerland, but after riding here we sure would like to explore it further 😊 Part 2 out tomorrow 😎🙌🏻
What a great route, amazing scenery. I can't help but wonder if you'll go for the new bike, I'm sure shadow will understand, lol. I think the new 1300 Adventure is the best of the two ,though its far from being cheap! Cheers.
It really was a great ride to the event 😊. Yeah it would be an easy decision if we didn’t love shadow so much! But he’s still worth something to sell -big so sure if we put another 40,000 Km on him though 🤔 Was really impressed by the R1300 GSA though as you will see in next weekends video 😊
Exiting route to Garmisch Partenkirchen. I'm curious to the next episode. As I do ride a BMW sidecar myselve it would be a good idea to go there next year. We will see. First you next episode. Enjoy. 😎👍
Yeah it was a great ride!! You would love it, saw lots of other side car conversions there too. Hope you enjoy tomorrow’s episode and enjoy the BMW Motorrad days 😎
What a scenic route. My wife & I had done some parts of it back in 2010. Would have been nice to see from inside how big the sidecases and topcase are in regular and expanded form
The BMW Motorrad Days is a pretty cool place. I was there in 2019. My apologies , but ”The Thing” you both touring on has a design that I can’t take in. But I look forward to your new one with some Touratech goodies 😉 And have fun in India 🇮🇳🙌
Yeah we had so much fun (as you will see in Sundays Episode 😉) that’s cool that you’ve been too! -guess it was better got you to travel to when it was in Berlin. Haha not to everyone’s taste for sure but it rides so well! Thanks! India is going really well and we can’t wait to share it 😊
@ Actually it was in Garmisch when I was there. I didn’t camp and I was a little naive and thought it would be no problem to book a room at a hotel nearby , but it was fully booked everywhere. So it ended up with a contact with a german truckdriver I know who lived 70 km from Garmisch , and he called his mother and she had a bed that I could use 😄
Interesting perspective from Emily. We have a 1250GS and didn’t think the 1300 looks as comfortable although we haven’t ridden one. That said , I do like the 1300GSA and will probably end up with one when I can justify the expense to myself 😂
I felt it was very similar to our R1259GSA aim pillion riding position and if was just as comfy 😊. Same with the GSA although found the ride a little more rigid (might have just been the setup of the test bike.
I test rode the 1300 GSA last week. It was nice but not enough at this time for me to upgrade. I have a 2023 1250 GSA triple black actually Shadow's twin. Lol. There are some nice improvements but for me I have to try that ASA first. Unfortunately in my area North Carolina USA no one has that ASA equipped bike yet to try. Love your videos!
Yeah it’s defiantly got done improvements, but as you say if you’ve not long got the R1250 you will be buzzing off that for a few years 😊. We too are interested in the ASA -will have to give it a go once we are back home 😎. Thanks! Great to hear you are enjoying the videos 😊
Great video with superb scenery, i am heading that way in July next year and would love to ride these passes in Germany could you tell me the route you took please with road numbers if possible? Thanks
Thanks Mark, that will be a nice trip! A beautiful part of Germany with Austria nearby 😊 Here is a link to the route we took : m.calimoto.com/r/mS5WrWeGRJ
Lovely ride 👍 we did a similar route to garmish in September. I have to say that the standard comfort seat is as hard as a park bench... Which seat did you have? Thanks a million for sharing
Thanks, we really enjoyed it too 😊. Ahh cool you were there too, maybe you will see yourself in Sundays episode of the event 😉. Not sure what seat we had actually -was too excited to ride it 😁. We have the OEM comfort seats on our R1250 and they have been great!
Great vid as usual guys. Sean what's the forward facing camera mount you are using? I've got my 1300gs trophy arriving any day now and it has less places to mount my x4 on it than my 1250 gsa (I'm dreading letting that bike go! But want a lighter more fun bike for the passes).
Thanks very much! Congratulations on the new bike! 🥳 yeah always painful letting a bike go but the R1300GS is an awesome bike and a lot more nimble than the R1250 GSA 😎👍🏻
@SeanandEmily OK. I was just worried that you might have sold him. Shadow really is a very cool bike. Thanks for the reply, and keep up the good work. 👍👍
Boy, would I ride with you two on those beautiful scenic roads with my GS 1250 ! Thanks for the ride! My riding season is over, here in Quebec ☃️❄️! 🥹😉🏍️

Wow, absolutely beautiful scenery and look at the quality of those roads! What a dream!
It was the perfect way to arrive at the BMW event 😊 German and Swiss roads take some beating for quality 😎👍🏻
Brings back memories of my times riding through Switzerland late 1970s and 80s lovely countryside loved the drone shots 😊🏴
Glad it brought back memories 😊 must have been great ti ride through Switzerland in the 70’s! 😎🙌🏻
Can't wait what the surprise is 😊. Lovely surrounding area btw
Hehe the cats out the bag now but it was exiting at the time 😁
What fantastic roads, especially where you took your drone shots, that looked like the perfect biking road! 👍
It really was the perfect way to ride to the BMW bike days 😎🙌🏻
Again,Amazing roads,amazing drone footage 😮. Love ❤ the new GS1300A.
Thanks! This was a great way to get to the BMW biker days! 😎👍🏻
Looks like a fun bike. And the reviews are all positive as far as i remember.
It really is Johan! Yeah true, even unbiased people are loving it 😁 They’ve done a great job of this bike 😎🙌🏻
Switzerland looks lovely to ride, so clean and fresh looking.
Yeah can totally recommend Switzerland as a riding destination, you can’t ride fast (but then where can you these days) but the rides are so spectacular!

I love these roads, right now i am in luxemburg where it is kind of simular appart from the heights.
Nice one! Hope you are enjoying Luxembourg 😊👍🏻
Great video guys ❤ .. I couldn't help myself 😊 I started singing the Sound of Music 😅
Haha was tempted to use that sound track 😂. Thanks! Nice to hear you enjoy the videos 😎👍🏻
It doesn’t have the look of a long journey touring bike ,ideal for what you’re doing today though .great to see you both 👌
Guess not, it a bit more sporty looking. That said it’s extremely comfortable and would be great for long distance touring.
Really good off road too 😉

So beautiful curvy roads :)
It was the perfect ride to the BMW biker days 😎👍🏻
🤔😎🏍💨💨💨💨👍🏻🇨🇦🍻think I see a new beamer in the future for you two.
Nice roads there for sure.
Hi John! Yeah the R1300 GSA will for sure be the next bike ….not sure when though 😊. Video out tomorrow on it 😉
What a great route, amazing scenery. I can't help but wonder if you'll go for the new bike, I'm sure shadow will understand, lol. I think the new 1300 Adventure is the best of the two ,though its far from being cheap! Cheers.

今私は、gs900の購入を検討しております。
やっぱりアドベンチャー良いですよね😉
Nice! The F900 GS looks great! 😎🙌🏻
What a scenic route. My wife & I had done some parts of it back in 2010. Would have been nice to see from inside how big the sidecases and topcase are in regular and expanded form
Yeah it was a lovely ride, great that you’ve ridden it too 😊
The size difference between regular and expanded can be found on the BMW website I guess.
The BMW Motorrad Days is a pretty cool place.
I was there in 2019.
My apologies , but ”The Thing” you both touring on has a design that I can’t take in.

It’s amazing how full it gets!!! Thank goodness you had a contact, that’s a funny story -I bet she looked after you well 😊
Interesting perspective from Emily. We have a 1250GS and didn’t think the 1300 looks as comfortable although we haven’t ridden one. That said , I do like the 1300GSA and will probably end up with one when I can justify the expense to myself 😂

We have the OEM comfort seats on our R1250 and they have been great!
OEM on the 1250 is comfortable...just curious how you found the firmness of the 1300 over time. Can't see it being all day comfortable like the 1250
Nice video! What kind of helmet do you have?
In this video we are using the BMW GS pure helmets 😎👍🏻
That was an amazing road through the German forest... have you got the road details please?
Yeah it was a great ride, here’s the link m.calimoto.com/r/mS5WrWeGRJ

Roads look good ..how is the torque on the new 1300. As u seem to be in 2 n 3 Rd a lot. All.stick with my old gs 1150 lol for now
More Torque than ever 👍🏻 The boxer engine does like to be revved and it’s fun to ride it in a higher Rev range 😎
Are you on a test ride, or have you sold SHADOW?
As mention we are borrowing the bike for the event 😊👍🏻
@SeanandEmily OK. I was just worried that you might have sold him. Shadow really is a very cool bike. Thanks for the reply, and keep up the good work. 👍👍
I will wait till the gremlins have been sorted out.
Think they’re all but sorted 😉 Nothing major considering how much of this bike is new.
👍👍👍 🏍️
Thanks! Part 2 out Sunday! 😎🙌🏻
[ Like ] ...a lot. :)
😎🙌🏻
Sean - curious - how did you two end up living in Switzerland?
Work 😉
How tall are you if i may ask? I am 6 2 and a bit worried whether this would be comfy for me…
I’m 6ft2 as well. There’s always the tall seat option. Best go test one to find out 👍🏻
Are u back from india i am Aydin u didnt post my video 😢😢
Don’t worry Aydin 😊 we will make the videos when return home. You need to wait about 2-3 weeks 😉
Ok
Are people invited to these experience days?
Yes we were invited 😉 -too create these two videos of the event.
I used to scorn BMW drivers but guess what worked my way up to the top of the 7 series range and living the dream gliding on air 🫡
7 series! wow that must be a smooth drive indeed 😎👍🏻
@ Yeah best ever in comfort plus but I also like adaptive that reads the road ahead and adjusts for it for twistier roads 🤗
Yeah that’s an awesome feature!
