I just ordered one, I originally was going to get the standard Slash 4X4 but decided to go with the Ultimate. Due to the fact that it already has the upgrades installed from the factory that I was going to get anyway. Watching you take on terrain and jumps that were not meant for it to take on. Wow you ran it thru the ringer, totally enjoyed the video. Love my Slash 4X4 I mostly run 1/5 scale but when I wanna grab something quick that’s easily portable the Slash is my go to…
I have both, the UDR is super cool but the Slash is much more durable, mostly because it’s not near as heavy as the UDR so it doesn’t break on jumps, crashes as easily.
Cool unboxing and review video, I'm currently planning to buy a new Slash 4x4 Ultimate even though i already have a Platinum converted VXL model with custom electronics but i just can't get over what Traxxas has done with the new ultimate and my current truck is kind of worn out.
Low center of gravity means it's a version that slides around the track. The high center of gravity version grips onto the track surface as it goes around the track. You can buy both styles of driving. They're totally different lifestyles.
Quick question, so I'm an old rc fan, had an associated rc/10 back in the day and now I'm looking to get back into the hobby. I'm slowly narrowing my search, I've come down to a few cars, would you tell me what you think? I'm thinking, the slash ultimate, losi db pro, or the losi lazernut?? Any advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Just looking for something to have some fun on the weekends with my nieces and nephews, maybe the odd weekend at the track. Thx
Thanks for asking. In my experience the DB Pro will be closest to the RC10 for handling and such. The Lasernut is fine for it's designed purpose, but requires mods to make it more track ready. The Ultimate Slash, on the other hand, is a proven ripper of a short course truck. The Ultimate is fully upgraded and works well, at least it has for us so far. But if you're thinking short course truck look into the Losi TT Pro as well. That one is amazing and comes ready to get it (Gyro included) and costs less than the Traxxas RC. To be clear, all are excellent choices, but "you" are the deciding factor here. How and where you plan to use them matters. Durability also. Composition is also a factor...asphalt, grass, dirt, it all matters. We have vids for all of them except the DB Pro. Best of luck choosing. AJ
Cool truck and video. I am just surprised they haven't gone to the clipless body system on this model. Hmmmm. I saw a video where it showed this truck going up steps. Is that really doable? Is this the same motor as the Rustler VXL? Can you run the Rustler tires on it as well? Thanks for the video and your time. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Question one: 3s Ovonic 50c 5000mah. Question two: both are very cool. Your choice should depend upon what you want it for, like heavy off road (Maxx), or speed and handling on groomed areas (Slash). Either one would be a great choice. I hoped this helps. 😎👍
The difference in ground clearance is my main concern. I have mostly outdoor space to use, so is the LCG chassis more of a hinderance to true rally capabilities due to more bottoming out? Or is that just a shock stiffness problem?
there is no ground clearance lost with low cg. the whole chassis is aligned with where the front and rear bulkheads are. I have noticed that it performs worse in grass but I don’t have any other gripes with the low cg I installed a month and a half ago
i want something to complement my crawler, just got back into RC.. crawling is fun but sometimes you need the speed... so I'm looking at this, and the UDR, and the Arma Mojave, and the Losi baja rey and lasernut.. i can't decide. one thing I like is i can leverage my current battery/charger platform for this.. that makes it more budget friendly. also seems like it would break less than the bigger rigs. decisions decisions!
How does the SAlash compare to the Arrma Mojave 4S. I have one, and it’s a Beast Basher 4S RC. I also have the Traxxas Raptor, (which is a slash based Rc).
The Slash feels more like a performance vehicle, while the Mojave feels tough and rugged in nature. Both are fast, and handle well. It's just a feel thing. IMO

An unboxing video is sharing the experience of discovering something new with the audience. We are not scripted or rehearsed. We are not perfect. But what we do is make an attempt to help others within the hobby. Knit picking small points that make little real difference to the outcome and requiring perfection in everything is not reality. Now it's clear they're just props. You know us viewers want authentic people that know the products.
Everything you just said is wrong
@@AJJAMStudios maybe so but you didn't see how obvious it had a slipper clutch… And you didn't know the car it states it clearly… But I'm sorry… I'm of the opinion though that before review is given the car should be familiar to the reviewer not a guessing game
An unboxing video is sharing the experience of discovering something new with the audience. We are not scripted or rehearsed. We are not perfect. But what we do is make an attempt to help others within the hobby. Knit picking small points that make little real difference to the outcome and requiring perfection in everything is not reality. We could do videos like that, but we won’t. Real life has mistakes and missteps. We won’t apologize for how we do things. AJ knows RCs. Each RC is different. Each one, little or big, is unique. We share the here.
@@AJJAMStudios oh just a on boxing but I saw the word a review… Should've just said I'm boxing and I wouldn't of said a word… I was looking for a review. Not the joy of opening a box. I get your point no worries
Thank you for commenting. 😎👍
Traxxas just sounds to trashy and "plasticky" the quality just isn't there IMO as with Arrmas 3s/4s line I own a maxx and xmaxx and they sure are tough but they also wear much faster and just feel cheap. I'll stick with my Losi TT and Arrma 6s Rock solid rigs.
Have you broke the a arms and chassis on the arrmas yet 🤣🤣
Very 😮Good👍
