I have problem again, horn was not working very well, so I removed airbag & cleaned the 4 contacts & the earth wire & puts smear of vaseline on all of them, put back together & horn now works good, but have since had warning for airbag fault, cruise control fault warning, then the check engine light has come on, car appears to drive okay, went to work, finished work, started car, airbag fault has gone, cruise control fault not now showing, but engine check light stays on, any ideas please ?
It should disappear soon unless there is some other reason for it in wich case you would need to get it scanned with Diagbox. But it should disappear soon.
@@Mad4FrenchCars I just went through the airbag removal process again, the first time I did it, I used a flat blade screwdriver & it did slip a few times, so I was thinking maybe I scoured a wire, this time I used a T30 & the airbag came out much easier, checked wires, no damage, put back together & started engine, check engine light has gone, many thanks 😊
@@Mad4FrenchCars you must be really fed up of me by now, but more problems, took car to get air conditioning recharged, went back an hour later to pick it up, they could not do it, 'clim' is missing from menu on the little screen on personnel configuration, it also will not let us pair a phone, is it a faulty radio (rd4) & screen ? Next question, could I fit the OEM sat Nav screen off another 407 on mine, I just have the small orange screen, many thanks
Ya should not be any problem as long as you replacing just a steering wheel. If you want to change a comms unit behind a steering wheel then that would be different.
Hi mate you can put a custom steering wheel on. Not sure about Momo but I have seen custom steering wheels on these cars. 2 things to know: steering wheel air bag has to be disabled with Diagbox. Have to rewire your beep signal. If your Momo steering wheel comes with a mount then it might be problem with putting it on as comms unit is there. If you leave comms unit as it is and just want to change steering wheel then only them 2 things I have mentioned.
Hello no there is no OEM steering wheel with controls all the controls is on the comms unit but i have seen people swap theyr original steering wheels with loads of different cars. I have seen citroen c4 steering wheel on 407 also peugeot 208,308 rcz and many more. You can even swap it for aftermarket steering wheel all you need to do then is just use diagbox software to disconnect the airbag in a steering wheel and you good to go. If you good with electrics and stuff probably it wouldnt be to difficult to move some functions from comms unit to steering wheel buttons in a different steering wheel
I have a 2006 407 coupe. Can anyone tell me how to remove the automatic shift gear knob, please? Does it just unscrew? I bought a woodgrain and leather knob from AliExpress and would like to fit it. It's for a Toyota/Lexus and has a 6mm thread I think - I could make an adapter, I think. I don't know what the Peugeot 407 stick uses for the standard knob. TIA Pete
Sorry peter i am not very familiar with automatic gearbox know. Manual one just pulls off, but i dont think its a case in automatic cars. I hope someone here can help you. You should check out peugeot 407UK facebook group for advice.
@@petercroft3273 i would try to ask in one of the facebook groups as i dont think you can just unscrew it but i could be wrong i havent had any automatic coupe only manuals so i have never tried.

3008 wheels fit and are the same as the RCZ... if anything better as there is no RCZ badging at the bottom!

its same with rcz steering? the hole can fit to 407 steering?
I believe so. I haven't done such a conversion myself but most of Peugeot steerring wheels are direct fit

@@Mad4FrenchCars Thanks. I've tried unscrewing it by hand of course, with a fair bit of force, but it wouldn't budge. I don't want to damage anything.
