I would like to go beyond just the movie Avatar to talking about Jim Cameron (insights about his life etc. and how he started). Howard Stern's show has a clip but its just a clip and I cannot find the whole interview that is legally available.
"Never been done before" (in regards to the story being from the invaded's perspective) Has he not seen Pocahontas? That's even more so from the invaded's perspective in addition to be being the exact blueprint for the plot of his movie.
He's talking about actual extra terrestrial aliens, he acknowledged Lawrence of Arabia and Dances With Wolves. He's saying the story of Avatar is being told from the standpoint of invaded extraterrestrials 22:58 So pay closer attention please.
Pocahontas is a real life story. Is there a patent and copyright about taking inspiration from real events? Show me where John Smith becomes an indian and the indians kick the colonizers back to their homeplace then your stupid argument will have a semblance of legitimity. Why don't you say that Terrence Malick copied Pocahontas then? Sure you don't. Idiot.
Well, it's much closer to Dances With Wolves. A broken soldier, adopted into an alien enemy culture, keeps a journal, proves himself amongst their best warriors, learns to love life again, finds purpose and companionship, and helps lead the fight to defend his new society against his old one. The extended version of Avatar even has a breathtaking buffalo hunt sequence.
@@peterlenham6904 "that doesnt make his films great" Oh that's why his movies were loved and made it to the top. They would not reach that success if they were not great. You have no argument here
@@peterlenham6904 the original comment wasn't an argument. He says he's not a good filmmaker now but the film he's interviewing about is the last one anyone's seen. The transformers movies are over edited and unintelligible. Avatar was perfectly thought out and realized and changed the world of vfx. It was critically acclaimed and nominated for best picture that year.
He doesn’t make many films but when he does it’s perfection
THE TERMINATOR, ALIENS, TERMINATOR 2, TRUE LIES, TITANIC, AVATAR ! GREATEST FILM MAKER OF ALL TIME !
lol
The Abyss is a really good film too... 7 for 7 is james...
Steven Spielberg & James Cameron both are iconic Filmmakers 🤘🏻🎞🎬👌🏼💯🎥
This interviewer is great, he asked great questions and didn't sound nervous or stumble over his words, sitting across from a legend.
No one is a "legend". People are people.
@@TeddyLeppard we are not all equal. Some of us are clearly more talented than others.

ALL TIME GREAT FILM DIRECTOR !
4th time watching this interview, never gets old!
lol. Excellent interview and out of focus camera shot. Classic DP/30. Love your work, David! Please post them even though they're out of focus.
That's probably why it wasn't uploaded for a while. Great in depth Interview regardless
Long live sir Cameron💓💓💓
Another one of mine is avatar and my thoughts were magical at that time and the actors and actresses where very good love to all and thank you
Sooo good this interview. Thank you.
V love u sir Cameron💓💓💓
FOCUS.
Cameraperson was having so much fun with the zoom button that they forgot to maintain focus.
Yeah... he thought he had autofocus on... not that autofocus was such a great choice there either.
2:10 shocking, I would've thought he wrote the script after 2000! South park put it best, James Cameron is the greatest pioneer

Some ALT-DP lighting going on here.

Unfortunately he is a better talker than a movie director now.
And that's why his movies are always on top of any film and the highest grossing of all time
@@randomly_random_0 That doesn't make his films great. The Transformer films make tons of money, but their garbage. You have no argument here.

Exactly and thats why his 3 movies are in the All Time Top 4 and his movies have been on the Top of the list for over 25 years! 😁
I missed you, JC. but, goodbye.
