I love this!! A great version of the original.... I love it when Ronnie returns to his past to highlight the message of an original that was lost in the hype of the scene at the time.
LayedBakDFR, the original is completely different and would have the craziness you might have expected from Ronnie and the band. It’s a bit old but still a great timeless song that I still listen to to this day!
When you said "they ain't going to flip this on me. I'm ready", I laughed out loud because I knew they were going to get your ass haha. "It took them four minutes, but that scared the shit out me". Lmao
I’m pretty sure the symbolism in this was to show the coldness that he had in his heart back when he wrote the song, like in previous statements he says the entire album is just a break up album but dedicated to Escape the Fate. The fire represents his passion and growth throughout the bands lifetime and Ronnies spark for his music. All in all I agree that this really shows his vocal ability and how talented he really is.
I agree! I like the original as well. Although the lyrics are the same, the original is a bop. It's so catchy that you can miss how deep the lyrical content is. This version is moody, melancholy, and slows it down so you can understand just how tortured he is. It's literally perfection.
For the fans that know the context of the song, the feels are real. The original one has the same lyrics, it's about Ronnie's struggle with drugs and then jail. He talks about how difficult was to stay sober. In here, the piano adds the sadness and maturity about it so we can realize the real problem here, but what i liked the most is that in the original video the "drug" was portrayed as a woman, in here the "drug" is the same woman that is in the album cover... and at the end she burns. Ronnie had been sober for years now, he doesn't need her anymore and we are so fucking proud of him.
Nice to see you reacting to Falling in Reverse again, you should react to their song ''Brother'' it's heartbreaking, is about Ronnie's brother that passed away
Ronnie just knows how to confront his past and show you what was lost in all the mess of the scene back in the days. There’s a whole message on this song that until this version, I missed entirely. Regardless, I love it and I love when he shows of his wicked singing pipes!
I agree too that song helped me through a lot after I got out of the military it seems like all of Ronnie’s songs can speak to almost anyone on some level even if they aren’t going through the same exact thing
I can honestly see him being more of a perfectionist in his music. He's always been VERY expressive with it, and I feel like this is one of the things he'd go hard af in.
He really did it in one take, got a Q&A with him in Madison Wisconsin, he said he wrote the music, sat down and did it all one take. He said he was really surprised it took off like it did.
Love the originals but these revamped/reimagined versions are so different but love the as much as the originals. Love how songs can evolve over years. 😃

When you realize and look into the lyrics about drugs he was into at the time. Had and went through tough ass times. And the people that have been there with ronnie since escape the fate. Truly an amazing dude. Favorite band back in the day.
This song is about his struggle with addiction and him going to jail, he’s sober now though and has been for years considering this song came out 10 years ago
This is him doing a remake of one of his older song titled "The Drug In Me Is You" the original is much different musically. It's the same lyrics but this remake really gives you a better emotional feel for the lyrics.
RON RADKE'S VOICE ONCE AGAIN SHOWS ITS FULL RANGE AND HYPNOTIC POWER. IT TAKE YOU ON A JOURNEY FROM ITS ANGELIC CONCEPTION TO ITS DEMONIC HOWLS. A TRULY MAGNIFICENT MODERN MASTERPIECE.
This was off their first album and he was fresh out of prison after spending 2 /12 years there for drug offenses .... he’s been clean every since and you can really see as he’s grown up that he’s a true talent !!
You should listen to the original 'The Drug In Me Is You', this is the 'Reamagined' version. He made this special version for the fans that have been following FIR from the beginning. It's in a ballad form so that people can feel the lyrics even more. I'll always love FIR🤘
My love for this version is in its own category. The original is my favorite an that probably because I was a fan of them this whole time but this version is just gorgeous. I get chills every single time I hear this version
Hey LayedBakDFR Ronnie Radke is a musician to the core. His early work was in a band called Escape The Fate back in the mid 2000s. (Look up song: Situations). It was an interesting cross of emo pop punk rock and metalcore. They are one of the original bands to create that mid 2000s emo scene. He ended up getting in trouble and went to prison for a probation violation. His band kicked him out and replaced him with the former Blessthefall singer. While in prison he formed Falling In Reverse and wrote several of their well known songs. (Look up song: Im not a Vampire) and ( The Drug In Me is You). What i find really interesting is the fact he didnt stick with one particular thing. He released a rap/metal song in 2013. (Look up: Alone) and then did a cover of (Gangsta's Paradise) in 2014. There are also ballads like what you just listened too. I personally view a lot of their music as inspirational. While a lot of bands have a "idgaf i will never change" attitude, Ronnie's music has a "hey ive fucked up, but im trying to get better" feeling to it. At least in my opinion. (Look up songs: Chemical Prisoner, and Fuck The Rest).
This is pure masterpiece. Ronnie can fucking sing, the emotion he puts into this song is juste incredible. You can really feel the pain and despair through the song. He is from another dimension, genius or crazy I don’t know but I truly love Ronnie as an artist.
It's a reimagination of one of falling in reverses first hits of the bands first album. The entire drug in me is you album is about Ronnie being fired from his first band and going to rehab where he wrote most of the songs
Yeah and he wasn’t fired they actually replaced him and never let him know until he came out and falling in reverse started with everyone he met at the rehab and he went back to visit them in the rehab until the all came out then they started the band and the first songs was him expressing his feelings he had towards the band escape the fate their is an interview about it he says everything
@@als2480 I know I'm late to the party, but they 100% have to skip parts over copyright, it's the way it works. And it actually doesn't matter what Ronnie cares about himself, he is not his record label, tons of artists don't have the rights to say who can or can't listen to their music uncopyrighted it's only their labels decision.
The second I listened to this I looked up reactions to it and I'm so glad you're the first one I I watched. Half way through and We're on the same vibe lol
You can’t fully understand this song in particular if you weren’t listening to the original years ago and growing with the music. It’s definitely an amazing piece for those that have followed not only Falling in Reverse but Ronnie in particular.
I can relate to this song on a different level. What it meant for me was I was in community college and I met a girl who I fell in love with at sight because she literally had everything I was looking for in someone. I eventually told her how I felt and she stood me up when we made plans to meet. I thought I was finished with her but every time she needed something or wanted help I was always there but it never went the way I wanted and she ended up getting married to someone who was double her age. Moral of the story, no matter what she wanted, no matter what she asked of me I put aside my thoughts and feelings for her because I loved her. The drug in me was her and I was high on the misery of knowing deep down she doesn't care.
"An it scared the shit outta me".. bro, that was the first time I've laughed today (vday is a rough day for me). Thank you. I've been watching your reacts every day for the last couple weeks. One of the best reactors I've heard. So, good job homie. Keep it real.
Sad that hardly any reaction video really sees the meaning behind the lyrics, definitely need to listen to thr original " the drug in me is you" before listening to this one. The journey it takes you one is Ronnie's personal story with his battle, and this version really show cases the maturity and depth to him and his struggles.
So there's two versions of this song. The older version is more upbeat and emo. When the older version of the song was released, artists felt the need to hide sad lyrics behind upbeat tempos due to society and how music was developing. Personally, I feel like this version is how this song is supposed to be, it gives me chills. I was around 12 when I got into FIR. I understood the lyrics then and now I cry because I felt like at that age I shouldn't have but fuck, what can you do? Now I'm 17 and my Playlist is just a mess...kpop here, some rap there, always can rely on emo music throughout. Let's just say I dont get the aux cord.

I’m pretty sure the symbolism in this was to show the coldness that he had in his heart back when he wrote the song, like in previous statements he says the entire album is just a break up album but dedicated to Escape the Fate.
