I got one earlier this week. Just shot it a couple hours ago. Functions perfectly with 5 different types of ammo. Two of the ammo types were over 25 years old. I think I will really enjoy this firearm.
I had an m&p22 (which is polar opposite of the 9,40,45 they shoot flawlessly) it would malfunction every mag... literally threw it in the back of the truck and lost the slide pin. Lucky for me because I decided after a month of research to buy a tx22, maybe 2 malfunctions in 600 rnds which was most likely my fault, AWESOME little gun, i shoot cheap bulk ammo too.
A man I love your set up on the Taurus. I definitely love the red dot in the back rather then the competition series where the red dot is farther down on barrel!! Hopefully you can go further with the red dot installation u did! Thanks chief!
Just went in to pick up my G3c and they had one in the case and just happened to notice it because it took 30 mins to get to me. Grabbed it right away. Been waiting 3 months for one to pop up locally and just happened to get one tonight. Sorta felt like Christmas. New G3c and a TX22.
I got a TX22 last year and I love it! I also recently got my SiCo Sparrow and it makes it even more fun! Soon I’ll have a similar set up with a red dot.
The red dot on this particular pistol was too heavy and made it not reliable. After this model was released they came out with a fixed bridge optic mount version that should work much better.
Bought one this week. Had a few feed issues on the first use but nothing too bothersome. Hopefully a good cleaning and some use will get it sorted out.
I've run close to 5200 rounds through my TX22 and could not be more impressed by it. It's been extremely reliable and is such a blast to plink with. The barrel does foul up pretty quick using lead projectiles though so I use Aguila Super Extra bulk in pretty much exclusively. It will cycle nearly anything though, can't say the same for my SR22 and Mark IV!
you might want to check with Taurus, they had issues with the barrels at first. The way they were cut made them foul up with excess lead and they will replace it.
I just jumped in and got my first 22 handgun. Found a tx22 competition with a red dot and stuff for a good deal. I would like to get a suppressor and night sights. Wouldnt mind a new trigger but its isnt bad at all
This is the 22lr I carry in my range bag I bought it when it first came out and taurus didn't have a Stella reputation but a 15 round magazine 2 included it came with the half by twenty eight adapter witch is rare and it was one of the first 22lr that was and actual striker fired pistol and at the time they where cheap plus they offered 50$ back on mine I went right to the range with a box of the wall mart 560 boxes it ate everything no jams stove pipes I had sub sonic and my rimfire suppressor and it cycled them perfect plus it was so quiet I have 5 22lr pistol all good names but I rarely use anything but the taurus is always in the bag and it's so reliable why switch
Love my Taurus tx22 I bought 2. One issue I ran into my slide cracked at the end on one side of the slide guide. Sending back to Taurus today 6-5-2020 to be repaired
You see, this is where the shield sight may shine. These sight people are putting on are budget sights. Meaning they cut cost by making them heavier. Do you have a shield that you can try? I would like to hear back about it. Im also looking for a footprint aswell. But i got to confirm if it works. Because i have a shield on my edc hellcat that i really dont want the dot on because it seems to collect lint from my clothes. So i rather go back to irons.
I just canceled my order from Rural King . I ordered online but the site wasn’t clear what comes in the box. So I emailed them. They were only including one magazine. Not sure what else was included? But they were selling it for $319 plus charges/fees it came to $350. I canceled the sale. Anyone know if Taurus is changing box contents?
What model suppressor is in the beginning of the video? My TX22 does not have a threaded barrel. Is the threaded part a small adapter or do I need to buy a whole new barrel?
Mine came with the adaptor and a tool to remove the tip of the barrel it's hard to see but there will be two flat spots about and eighth of and inch that the supplied wrench fits in if you don't have it then you should have 15 round mags the states that don't allow suppressors have a 10 round mag minimum if you still have your box check it really good the adapter should be in there with the small wrench there where a few that had deleted saftys check to see if your state is compliant with suppressor ownership if you can have them then go back to the store you purchased it maybe they got one for a state that doesn't allow them
Did you run into any cycling issues after installing the red dot? I’m about to get my tx22 and throw a fastfire on it so wondering if I need to plan for lightening the slide to compensate for the extra weight.
Yes, the weight of the red dot caused issues, and at the time Lakeline didn't have their light recoil springs out. I think going to a different guide rod and spring would help.
Zack Carlson - Writer alright I’m on the waitlist for the guide rod so I’ll do that when they are available. Have you ran yours suppresses? I will mostly be running mine with my Nyx can so maybe that will help.
File the plate, it was ok but it was too heavy for the slide to work reliably. LAKELINE is coming out with a lighter guide rod spring which should help that.
@@ZackCarlson o really .. I wouldn't have thought about that sight being that heavy...if you had it suppressed as well the maybe some cycling issues but anyway I appreciate the video and the response because I was considering a red for mine so that's good information...thanks
How is co-witnessing with the mounting plate? I just recently bought the vortex venom for my m&p 2.0 subcompact with a red dot mounting plate and while adjusting the sight I've noticed you're limited to how far you can adjust for height of the red dot. Should I buy suppressor sights??? Or is you aim slightly higher or lower due to the plate? Please help!!!
Lake line’s website says the TX22 may have some feed issues if heavier red dots are used on it. Have you experienced any issues with the Venom? I’ve got the mounting plate, just trying to decide which Red Dot to get.
Are you saying there is a keltech mag that will fit the tx 22? Or just referring to your gun and that it has nothing to do with the tx 22 and confusing people just to brag about the rd count in your keltech? Thanks
Hi Zack, I have a TX 22 as well, where did you get the red dot from? I also have a Walther PPQ M2, will the same mounting plate for the TX22 fit in this as well?
I bought one, the FDE model a month ago. I cleaned and lubed it as well as upgraded the recoil spring. The first 200 rounds (CCI ini-Mag 40 GR) not one hick-up. From slow to rapid fire. I even snuck in some Remmington sub-sonic ammo. In my S&W M&P I was only getting 1 out of ten bullets to work. This is not cheap ammo. It works on the rarus. I think my next upgrade will be the front sight. I only paid -out the door a few dollars shy of 300.00. I think that is good. The salesman told me he had see them go out the door for more. I spent around 30.00 for the recoil spring. That is10% of what the gun costs. I am not going to put 200.00 into it. I love it. The primary purpose is so I have more range time, fun. I can not afford to shoot 250 9mm rounds like I used to. Tarus has so far served it purpose well, and enjoyable. I am glad I did not go with the Glock or Sig 22lr pistol.
Why does anyone need a magazine loader for this? I like my TX22 so much I have acquired 14 16-round magazines and just load them from the top without ever considering using the buttons...It's. Just. That. Easy...
@@ZackCarlson Of course < you're correct > however...there is "no pain" loading this 22 mag as opposed to loading centerfire magazines...*I remember trying to handload my first Shield .40 magazine still...* 🙄🤔
It's a Vortex Venom.. the sight is easy to install on to the plate, the plate needs to be fitted to the slide dovetail though. I just used a small file to test fit.
What do you mean not a defensive pistol bro there a 25 rnd mag extensions and red dot with a rail on the bottom bro someone brakes in they are fucked lol
I bought 2 of the TX22 at Kentucky guns for 229.99 each on sale.. Even though i have always been a gun guy i dont think silencers or as they are called surppresors should not be sold.
Any particular reason you feel that way? Feel free to touch on them rarely being used in crime, reducing the number of hearing injuries shooters deal with, how heavily regulated they already are, and how nice it is when someone has one while you are hunting near them (less disruptive to animals and other hunters.)
Also, how important they are when teaching a new shooter, you can communicate with them easier and how it greatly reduces the decibels so they won"t flinch from the round going off and less chance of them getting frustrated and being more willing to be involved in shooting sports. Please, go ahead and tell me why they shouldn't be sold... Saying "Im a gun guy, but...." Is about as fudd as you can get.
A curious stance. It's interesting that in hyper gun controlled England, if you DO have a gun at the club, you can just walk in to a store and buy a suppressor for it. In the United States if you want to exercise your natural right to keep and bear arms by buying a part (suppressor) for your firearm, you have to pay a $200 extortion fee and ask your government overlords 'pretty please' if they would kindly stop infringing on your civil rights. Suppressors should be standard equipment included with your firearm when you buy it. Or at the least you should be able to buy one over the counter to protect your hearing and the hearing of those around you.

My TX22 shoots really accurate I am very pleased with it
Me too!
The thing that really sold me on this was it is a true striker fire.

Red dot is going to increase slide mass, Might effect slide cycling.
Yeah this one is sensitive to it. Doesn’t work with a heavy red dot
What red dot You use on the Taurus TX22?
Any cycling issues after installing the red dot (and adding a lot of weight to the slide) ?

Love my tx22. Perfect suppressor host, although I ordered the suppressor height sights and the rear sight did not fit right.
Where’d you get suppressor height sights?
From lakeline.
The rear plate I got from them needed to be fitted to fit in the rear dovetail as well. Wasn’t terrible.
I have this gun and I find it shoots high...did U find that????
Check your barrel for uneven rifling and chattered barrel. Notorious for these tx22s
Hi where can I buy the plate and where can I buy the Red Dot please advice thank you oh and one last question have you had any problems with feeding
It sounded like you said you took a file to your slide to fit the optic... I hope you filed the sight plate and not your slide...
Zack you said the optic with mounting plate was too much weight. If the slide were milled for the optic would it be light enough then?
That’s a good question. I don’t know but I don’t think there’s enough meat in the slide to mount to.
