Got the pigeons out for a later afternoon fly today and they are doing better!
even little feral was so keen to fly he didn't want to come back in!

My hen looking good, it was the first time I'd bred from her father so this give me confidence in him too!

Adam Archers bird is truly a great flyer, she might be the best bird you have. I think his line of birds may be some good birds. Feral was flying well today and we’re rooting for him to make the cut. Beefcake...I don’t know about him, he seems very slow at the moment but we will have to wait and see.

I'm really enjoying the daily content and watching your flock improve everyday. Still think its crazy how fast you have got your birds trapping and flying well! I actually really like Feral lol hes very unique to the eye and is turning out to be a good flyer, well hopefully.

So feral will go at race, what happens at the race , do u put gps on them,or chip . So u take them at the place and let them fly far as they can
They looked a bit to hungry before they went out so can’t expect them to want to fly for too long. Also, be careful not to play with them too much in the loft before you let them out. They’ll get confused and think they’re going to get fed instead and will just want to come straight back in. Not sure if you’ve heard this before but try 1 ounce of food per bird per day. If you’re flying twice a day give a third after the morning fly and two thirds at night. Sounds a bit too detailed I know but good to have a baseline to work to and you can always adjust up and down depending on how they go. Keep going though mate, great progress so far and it takes time. Loving the videos!
Birds are coming along nicely. Give them all a couple of weeks as they are all still learning, maybe don't feed them until all are in. They need to learn to all come in at the same time. Patients will prevail. Doing a great job.

Hey Maney a suggestion I have is that maybe u should get rid of your two oldest bar splits, the ones that were paired with the bar less hen because it seems that they might be slowing the pigeons. It’s your choice, anyways keep up the great work!
yeah its in the plans, either that or set the pair down and breed more barless
@@ManeyPigeons yes for sure you can add them as a stock birds and get more but I would say you shouldn’t mix them with other genes because they will either make ur genes worse or different. So you can breed them with other young barlesses or just keep them for others.

I could never get my feral pigeons to fly like that. I think I fed them too well (they always had food out.) They would leave the coop in the morning, fly to the top of the barn, and remain there until evening when they would eat then roost. 😒

Hello Maney, love your video thanks for sharing. You have mentioned that Beefcake is a large bird. I noticed his wings are short compared to the tail. I don’t think Beefcake will be a good flyer because his of his wing’s sides. Feral in the other hand has good wings for his body.

He started flying with my birds and then just stayed
After a while he realy started looking good he has paired himself with one of my budapests and realy curios what hes going to breed for me

I believe them splits are slowing them down a lot you can tell the ones you separated are really good birds and they want to fly
yeah i know its so strange, but the splits babies are fine, that generation jump is easy to show how much they have improved

Should you be giving them some food before getting them to fly atm? I think they’re too hungry and want to get back to the loft too quickly and they probably don’t have much energy to fly for long.
If I go to the gym on an empty stomach I can’t train properly. If I have a small snack beforehand I can train so much easier. Just a thought anyway.
Also, they associate you with feeding time. Might be best to get a flag up, stay out of sight as you are standing in front of loft the whole time and they think food is ready. Just another thought lol.

They won’t fly 1 hour being that hungry... increase corn or peas in there food then you will see them fly longer at the moment they look too hungry to fly long with light feeding...
