I also like what R C Sproul said regarding our involvement with prayer that not only does God command our participation in prayer but it's also an unspeakable privilege & blessing. I believe the same is true of evangelism & witnessing.

Amen! Someone should make effort to grab Ole Hallesby's book on prayer. Probably one of the best masterpiece written on that subject!

@Neil Viegas Calvinism teaches partial determinism. We have free will but it is based on what we desire the most. I.e. if you want vanilla ice cream instead of chocolate then, at that moment, you will always choose vanilla.
We take comfort in sovereignty knowing that no matter what we choose, or the outcome, God is in control. Makes living the Christian life much more enjoyable.
@Neil Viegas show me the quotes and, if I have time, I will explain the context. Briefly though, when they talk about God in such a fashion it is for his overarching sovereignty. Just bc God uses our limited free will (taught in calvinism) to his greater plan, through his sovereignty, doesn't mean we don't have free will. Our free will is bound to our nature, so before salvation we are always in a state of sinfulness within every choice me make, while after salvation we are given the Spirit allowing us to make righteous choices. They all stem from desire.
I listen to and study the above named pastors. MacArthur is one of my all time favorites, as well as the late R.C.Sproul, so I understand what they are teaching. If you want a as clear as possible understanding, R.C. has actual series out covering such topics.

@Neil Viegas What if God just says, I am in control of all things AND "Your Responsible"? Even if you think there is no responsibility, it doesnt matter, because God says you are. You would shake your fist and call God unjust, but it doesnt matter He is God and you are the creation, He does as He pleases with His creation.
Also, God being in control doesnt also mean what I do I dont want to do. I, individual, desire everything I do, even if God is in control, I still ALSO desire it.

This is utter nonsense. He dodges the question completely. God know the future. You get ill and ask God to make you better. You either get better or you don't. If God knows you are going to get better, your prayer is futile. If God knows you are not going to get better, your prayer is futile. That is irrefutable logic.
