    I must have been a bad boy, Santa didnt bring me a new dozer. Lol. Thats a nice tractor. I Have heard very good things on the 700lgp. Very versatile. Merry Christmas, happy new year to you and yours.

    Thats a nice machine, The sad part is in 25 years it probably won't still be running, when all that emissions and computer crap on it up and dies and the parts are made from unobtainium . Jpaydirts grand kids will be laughing if they have any of those big old cats around. They'll be pushing dirt still, if the old cats of the 40's and 50's are anything to go by now. Thanks for sharing your big day of the new toy. Hope you have a happy new year . Take care

    Still got the price tag on it like Cousin Mini Pearl's hat. She said she left the price tag on like old country folks would do. Said, "they wuz so poor, when they'd get somethin new they wanted everyone to know, beings so proud of it." ; ) Very nice machine you have there. Hope it serves you well for many years.

    I used to cast in place those concrete vaults on pressurized sewer. They had to be formed in such a way that there are no seams, pour all at once to the man hole lid. Very tricky, pour the floor, walls and deck at the same time, then still be able to strip the forms.

    The problem we've had with the Deere machines is how the AC unit and the rear GPS antenna stick out so far behind the tractor. We've had operators take the antennas completely off and damage the AC condensers on a few of them now.

    That’s a nice tractor. I just got off a job in Pennsylvania we’re I was running a 1050k side boom on the pipeline. Had like 600 hrs on it when I first got in it. Absolutely loved it. Very operator friendly. And we also had a new 850k dozer I got to play with a little bit. Loved that one too. Been in cats forever but these two machines I would be happy if that’s all I ever ran again. I like em that much. Actually waiting for all that rain to stop so we can get going on the next pipeline near you , our yard is gonna be in Raleigh. Ya made a good purchase I think. I subscribed.

    • @rothamfarm1682
      @rothamfarm1682 5 років тому

      They do have different steering that’s for sure. I wish all the companies that make heavy equipment would make the operation functions all the same. It’s a pain I’ve had to learn many machines cause most guys I work with only like Cat or Deere don’t want to learn any other brands a pain for me. I’ve been in NH Deere Cat Kubota Bobcat Case and Gehl. All have different functions pain.

    I visited John Deere in Waterloo Iowa back around 2003. I was impressed with their engineering quality and technique. They had every competitor's machine and had stripped them down to parts to see if they did anything better. They had a year old 9000 series tractor that had been sold in Ukraine and had basically been run 24/7 ever since, it had over 8,000 hours on it. They made the owner an offer they couldn't refuse and sold them another new tractor. They stripped it to see what was wearing well, or badly. Very impressive place. I was disappointed to hear that the people I was visiting spent a lot of the last 15 years trying to force people to use their dealers for all service and repair by locking parts to the machine with software. "Oh, you have the wrong serial number injection pump, that's not the one I know so I won't start." That sort of crap. They were a very churchy group of people, it's surprising how mean they are. I wouldn't buy from a company that prevented me from repairing equipment. I don't know if they do the same BS with construction equipment?

      @@Mercmad I have a lot of Mennonites, and Hutterites round here in Canada. The Mennonites are some of the most crooked church goers I've ever seen. A few of the Hutterites are ok, but the rest of them I wouldn't give you the time of day for. They make the crooked Mennonites look good !

  • @tigerzero5216

    A couple things to say. Firstly. I have zero experience in what you do. But I do have mechanical sense in figuring out how parts fit. So when you put that pipe junction down and there was a gap between the laid pipe and the junction. I was curious how the final connecting pipe was put in. It had to be longer than the edge to edge gap. Secondly. Your Christmas gift is having no trouble pushing though that nice soil which appears to have little rock and a fair amount of clay but not too much clay to make big clumps. It should make a good barrier in blocking the rain runoff to the pit.

    • @DLHFarms
      @DLHFarms  5 років тому

      We cut a pipe to fit from the pipe you see there to reach into the structure. It goes b inside the structure a few inches and we use bricks and morter to seal around the pipe. On the other end the pipes are designed to fit together and they have a rubber gasket that seals them.

    Dennis Can you tell us something about the soil. You are digging deep. One layer is red, the other grey. I see a few large rocks. Is it sand or clay, sea bottom or glacial moraine? The pipe seems to be very large diameter. Is this to act as a restoring during a major rain storm? Is there a catchment pond prior to discharge to natural environment? What slope is called for? How heavy does it rain in your area?

    • @DLHFarms
      @DLHFarms  5 років тому

      It was clay so deep then turned to sand, there was scattered big rock. Had about 6inch of top soil dug off fist that I put to the right of the ditch. The pipe is 42 inch and it does go to a catch basin.

    • @DLHFarms
      @DLHFarms  5 років тому

      The pipe is on a 1 percent slope. Sometimes it can rain 5 inches in a couple hours here

      It's easy this way unless you don't have room to put the pipe in. Stick one end in the structure then bell it up with the strap. Easy
