It was such a pleasure to meet you Kinga! Thanks so much for the shout out too, much appreciated!! ❤ i hope the rest of your time here was just as amazing! ☺️
Another great episode.....Great to see the Britten bike, kiwi's have an awesome history of ingenuity...eg; Burt Munro "The Fastest Indian" etc (another garden shed build) I have been on a ride with 2000-2500 riders in NZ (fundraiser)... and not one incident! 😎✌
Thanks Bill 😁 there's actually 16 of them all up and a few big bikes too, it's an addiction. The orange one is a Honda Cub with Honda CT suspension, high bars and no leg shield. It's called Dickhead 😂
saw the Britton race at Laguna Seca when it came out here back in the day...I knew about it , and and it was cool...I don't think it could compete with the big $$ factory teams. But huge props to Mr Britton for an amazing effort !
After the earthquake I have visited Christchurch a couple of times on my way to the Marlborough Sounds. Nothing had been done to rebuild the area. Each time more shops had moved to containers. The locals seem to prefer shopping in the container shops in the earthquake area. The last time there was a bit of wind - not much more than 12 m/s - and unsecured signs were flying all over the place. I'm afraid many more accidents happens in Christchurch.
Hi Kinga...So the full story about the Britton bike is on UA-cam. Its quite an amazing story actually...The bike was built in John Brittons Garage and cost around 140k NZD...with the purpose of racing and winning at Daytona...World BEARS race meet (British, European,AmericanRacing)...and as your friend said...Andrew Stroud passed Factory Ducati bikes worth 300k Pound on his back wheel... The world was blown away that a bike built in a humble mans garage could absolutly ablerate factory bikes. John Britton is a total Legend

The unforgettable John Britten was born in Christchurch.
I was there last year in summer ( Europe summer).
