I have a 1972 Super Cheyenne. You can’t beat them. That Ford is really cool too. The C10 really does drive like a car. It’s a pleasure to drive and such a bulletproof drivetrain.
Nice I love that green truck I didn't know if it was green or another color I have 1971 ford f100 sport custom short bed with that green color and is nice color all original unrestored 302 engine found It In a barn 75661 miles and it's up to sale maybe this guy may be interested $12000 Like your videos Saludos amigos desde Baja California
I think modern day oil is much better than the Quaker State I grew up with.I bet these old trucks would go for a million miles with todays improved synthetic fluids.
Mr. Rick is one cool guy. Always good energy, makes you feel comfortable and welcome. Willing to share his beautiful collection with the world. I like how he lets you drive the vehicles as well. Most guys of his status usually have a stick up his butt and are arrogant jerks. Not him at all. Thank you Rick. 🤙💯
The f100 under 30 miles seems so crazy. I'm not a huge in the 70s f100 I just bought a 81. But the c10 oh yeah love that look I'm getting on soon my grandpa bought in the late 70s with less the 10,000 miles it was in a accident and my grandpa bought it replaced the front clip and only put a 1,000 miles on it then it got parked in a barn. Its almost prefect I'm so excited to get to drive it around.
When it came to hot rod cars dad was always a Chevrolet guy. BUT when it came to trucks he bought both Ford and Chevrolet 4x4's and we had similar trucks to both these..both great trucks.
Oh yes the golden days. I miss the Ford steering, which had you float all over the road. I had a Chevy Custom with a 350 (76) and I had a 78 Ford explorer, and a 79 Ford Explorer. The 78 had a 460 engine, the 79 the inline six tractor engine. All trucks had two fuel tanks because if you did more than a 160 miles you had to flip the switch. Great memories though
My old man’s first new vehicle was a highly optioned ‘72 C-20 that he purchased on the “cheap” since the new body style ‘73’s were already showing up on the dealer lots. It was the first truck I had ever seen that had a tilt steering wheel and factory air conditioning. The interior was very similar to the one in this video except the houndstooth fabric was replaced by a bright orange plaid to match the exterior of the truck. The “Grabber Orange” Mustang in my avatar was a nod to the orange on my dad’s C-20......🍊
There's a kid in Edinburgh, Indiana that has a '71 Chevy Custom 1/2 ton, long bed, 2 tone, with a 400, A/C, POWER WINDOWS, tilt steering wheel. Absolutely perfect truck. Yellow & white.
Great trucks. I had a '69 F100 Ranger, and a 1979 F350 Supercab, XLT, Ranger, Camper Special. Sold both of them years ago, and still regret it to this day!
Love the ‘73 F100. I had hoped to buy one from a family friend but he passed it to his nephew. I also love the ‘67-‘70 C-10 shortbeds, especially the stepside. I had hoped to restore one but never had the time and/or money at the same time.
Thanks! Interesting.. And, interestingly, I buying my first car in ** ,also, *1970( Dodge Coronet 500/loaded /383@ $3100, that F-150 WAS EXEPNSIVE!). Anyways, would,be interesting to see how Maintenance Schedules & Plans: ????? , & “are used “on these 30-60 **year OLD CLASSICS......Esp original, esp loaded options/ esp low miles/ esp trucks/ esp any Car !
A person can stand on main street sidewalk in any small town in any state in the USA and without exaggeration sooner or later a old Ford Bumpside will drive past. It may be in great shape or sound like a crop duster thanks to a fried plug wire creating a miss in the cylinder its s upposed to fire and that classic cracked exhaust manifold and it crisp " Frap Frap Frap " sound its making . But undoubtedly one will come motoring by. They are some very tough trucks that are very hard to kill. Mr Majestic as played by bronson showed their toughness. Not known for lots of power or ride comfort but they are proven work horses that have almost unmatched reliability even when getting beat on daily. C 10 rode nicer and had better power thanks to gm and chevrolets willingness to put a 4 barrel on damn near everything they produced while Ford 100 had a 2 barrel motorcraft on basically every V8 powered Ford pickup until the 70s and the 460 arrived .The 360 FE was a slug with the low compression . But the Ford was significantly tougher
The chevy is without a doubt a lot more popular you see a lot more of them, the ford never had a load in it probably couldn't handle it, not that many miles on it I'd be afraid it would break down.
Why wouldn't there be air conditioning in these old pickups? I wouldn't own one without that air conditioning. I live in a city that has hot summers. Air conditioning is necessary here.
Brandon Hagy every company has made good vehicles and shit vehicles no ones perfect buuuttt I'd have to say my f100 with a 300 6 is ones of the longest lasting engines of all time doesn't give us trouble
I have a 1996 Ford F150 with a 5.0L (302) Windsor V8 with 209,000 miles on it and still going strong. The only thing I replaced on my truck was the starter but other than that mostly was just simple maintenance, took out the transmission fluid just to get rid of the shuttering it was making and it hasn't had a problem ever since.I have a video of it on my channel if you want to come see it sometime. Here's the link belowua-cam.com/video/mWdlh5OCJEg/v-deo.html
How come no back story. I mean who buys a truck and never uses it, why did it not deteriorate over time. I call BS on this, I thin they are both recent restorations.
Well if that is true the back story is more important than the cars themselves, sure they make a nice presentation but it is absolutely fascinating that these cars have not suffered any materials degradation over time. For that to be the case there was total preservation going on from day dot. Who did that, why and how were they found what are they worth. Seeing you experience the cars was fun but there is too much missing from this. I will put this place on my agenda for next visit though.
Calling reputable people like this dishonest says a lot about you. My Grandfather bought a 1949 Ford F1, brand new. When he died in 1961, the truck had a whole 2,600 miles on it. Looked like new. Never was worked. Never Winter driven. He had another truck (Studebaker) for farm chores. Vehicles like this do exist. Just because this doesn't agree with your idea of reality doesn't mean it isn't real :~)
Ok I am prepared to be corrected!! I am genuinely in the market for a truck likes the ones above. If someone can help me find one I will eat humble pie. If no takers then I was right all along.
Guess what no takers. These are not what they seem, I'd say the are restos. There's always stories about unused trucks lurking in some barn until you want to buy one then they're like rocking horse shit!
I love 1970. Truck,s❤❤c🇵🇷
2 awesome trucks. Like out of a brochure.
I have a 1972 Super Cheyenne. You can’t beat them. That Ford is really cool too. The C10 really does drive like a car. It’s a pleasure to drive and such a bulletproof drivetrain.
Ford man here, I'll take both.
I would love to own either one of these! I miss the old pickups, learned to drive in a 1978 Ford Ranger XLT.
absolutely nothing like being a kid hanging out with granddad going anywhere in these trucks....golden memories for anyone....
a trick: watch series on flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching a lot of movies these days.
I would love to have that Chevy truck. Even an old beat up one. That's just an awesome body style
That explorer green 1970 is stunning. I love that color
Simply put, I’m impressed by both trucks! Really really nice!

If you ever get to central Nebraska, I think you'd like my unrestored original rust-free two-tone green 1970 F100 Ranger XLT.

Rick Schmidt seems like a really down to earth friendly car guy who loves his daughters.
Needs to get a Dodge D100 Adventurer to round out the pick up truck collection.
Two beautiful trucks! From a Chevy guy!
I love both of those pickups, they are beauties
Thank you for the video. Such rare opportunity to have low mileage unrestored pickup trucks in such good condition.
I love the c10s
@12:50, that's the difference between a twin-beam and a double-wishbone front suspension..
There's a kid in Edinburgh, Indiana that has a '71 Chevy Custom 1/2 ton, long bed, 2 tone, with a 400, A/C, POWER WINDOWS, tilt steering wheel. Absolutely perfect truck. Yellow & white.
I bet these two trucks out live any new trucks on the market today!
You got that right brother.
@@CJColvin I wish I had somehow been able to keep my dad's 1969 Chevy pickup.
These trucks will require engine rebuilds by 70K miles, unlike today's trucks that'll go 150K + easily.
Love the Chev 70-72s, drive a K20 of my dad’s in high school.
they are both sweet
Growing up my dad had the GMC version, the Sierra Grande. Holger orange and white, factory air, 350 short wheel base.
Funny how they are long boxes yet have all the options but they are really nice trucks

Man these beautiful old trucks from the 70s look beautiful, clean, and restored.
Both of these are unrestored originals. Amazing!
They are both great, but the Chevy is such a superior driving truck over the Ford n that era. And especially the Doge.
Stunning trucks!!!! I'll take the bowtie... beautiful ford tho..
Im not usually this generous and I know theyre used but I am willing to pay full original sticker price for both of them both.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That Ford pickup reminds me of the one on Dukes of Hazard though of course the one on the show was different but it's similar.
Man oh man do I ever want a double grille F-100!
Ford ♥️
One day my 72 c10 will look that good
I own a 1971 cheyenne its a bullet proof truck man its amazing
Wow! Real simulated woodgrain interior! Lol!
should have had some country on the radio .
The one thing the Chevrolet excelled at was the heater. Fords of that era had weak heat whereas the Chevy would melt you!!
Very cool!!!

Hello Rick i have a 1971 long bed 350 high perfotmancewith dismond
so cool trucks
Love these trucks Dennis
gimme dat red one!
ford f100 forever
I like the bow-tie on the hood better then in the grill.
Nice looking trucks and you have to be careful with the trucks
uncanny how NPD sells restoration parts but collects unrestored vehicles LOL

Did ya really need to drive it ...what ya never drove an old ford truck ? ....every mile is a ......ouch ! love this show.....
Chevy wins
I'm the 360 person who like the video 😁
The chevy is without a doubt a lot more popular you see a lot more of them, the ford never had a load in it probably couldn't handle it, not that many miles on it I'd be afraid it would break down.
Whats the story on the Ford truck, as why it has so little miles on it?
The Chevy cuz I have a 72 and a 68 C/20 !
FYI before 73 Ford 4X4s couldn't be had with power steering or brakes.
rick bears a passing resemblance to urban meyer...
i owned a 70 same color piss ass green ford short bed 390 factory holley 4 barrel 3 on the tree. fast truck
Those 390's were wicked for their time.
Let's see it
I had a 1982&1992 suburbans
The ford definitely is better overall
Chevy always
The sport custom wasnt top of the line even as a explorer. The Ranger was the Top
No explanation as to why the Ford only has 30 miles?
Because it was never driven.
@@MyClassicCarTV you don't say!
Yup.
The only explanation is the Ford was broke down all the time & nobody wanted to be caught in such an ugly truck.
Why wouldn't there be air conditioning in these old pickups? I wouldn't own one without that air conditioning. I live in a city that has hot summers. Air conditioning is necessary here.
Chevy any day, there's a reason the ford only had 20 something miles on it, and only two color options? Chevys always look better.
Gabriel Sandoval of course there is a reason the F100 only had 30 miles and the reason only the guy who bought it knows it lol
Random Uploader i don’t think you have an intelligent bone in your body Chevy trucks have always looked better than ford

How come no back story. I mean who buys a truck and never uses it, why did it not deteriorate over time. I call BS on this, I thin they are both recent restorations.
Nope. Totally unrestored ultra-low mileage originals. Most of the NPD colection is like this. It's amazing!
Well if that is true the back story is more important than the cars themselves, sure they make a nice presentation but it is absolutely fascinating that these cars have not suffered any materials degradation over time. I’ve owned both and Chevrolets are better.
