In the 90s, my job transfered me to Puerto Rico. I knew that I needed reliable transportation, so I had a Toyota Celica shipped there. Living there.... the Island's beauty, the beautiful people and women, and yes... my travels in my Toyota Celica... will forever be etched in my mind as some of the best years of my life.
My obsession is Toyota, this video is my actual DREAM GARAGE! My husband is from Puerto Rico and told me he has never heard of this place. If I can visit, I will go next year!
Love this video Proud to be Puerto Riccan... The tradition is also big in Chgo ,New york , Boston , Connecticut , and Miami...and more Puerto Riccans loves our Toyotas
I worked at a Toyota dealership in the late 70s and we sometimes saw some of these old classics. I owned a 1970 Corona RT43 (4 door version of the red 2-door at 8:27). It had automatic and factory A/C. My wife loved that car.
I love Toyotas. I own an ‘87 MR2 and it’s just a wonderful little sports car. I kept seeing them in the background of this video lol but I love the 60s and 70s Toyota’s too. I’d love to own an FJ40 one day.
What a collection in Bayamon.. Next time i go i gotta stop there.. I had a 70 sprint and a 85 Corrolla SR5 LIFTBACK..THE ONLY 2 I OWNED..I WISH I HAD THEM NOW..MINE HAD THE SLANT 1200 BUT I PUT IN A 1.8 LITER FROM A LATER CORROLLA..
I have a 1969 Toyota Corona Deluxe RT52L (2 door hardtop). 3RC motor with Toyoglide automatic transmission. I bought it from a retired school teacher in California for $65.00!!! It is cool little car!
I love these cars. I grew up during the 70s 80s. My dad had a 1965 Corona pickup we later converted the 1500 engine and geargox to a 18R Hilux. Wonderful build quality. I drove that until 1994. I bought a 2.2 4Y Hilux that same year and is still driving it today. Toyota does not build the most beautiful cars but boy do they last.
What an out there collection. Surely there is nothing comparable anywhere. Hope you would do more of these, Dennis. Japan has so many unique classics to offer and real heads know it.
Thanks Dennis for the tore love it seeing Toyota's I've never seen my father used to buy many of these small car's and fixed them and sold them he bought them for $50-100 dollars in the 70s and 80's I even own a1968 Toyota Corona 4 door still habe 2 of them 68 and 69
Wow.. Amazing collection! All super clean - bone stock - the way I like it! If I ever go to PR I will def stop by... probably for a few hours at least!
1971/72 Corona mark II used to have a sticker in the back stating power steering, first for the coronas. 1971 toyota Crown (top of the line, including 8 track) also came with power steering for the first time, and in addtion with dual air plus the refrigerator in the back. 1 cube feet. enough for 4 bears and some cheese. highway cruising made the refrigerator work perfect.
All Toyotas' name such as tiara celica, Crown, Corolla, Corona, cressida is something you put in your head such as a crown. the Toyota corona mark ii wear a sticker in the back window stating power steering. mark ii and Crown were the first for 1971 with power steering. Crown's option was a dual a/c with a refrigerator in the back. only for about 4 beers and some cheese. highway driving the refrigerator works just fine. beautiful design. another option was 8 track.
We made the 2017's World Guiness Record with the largest classic car parade. I took my Herbie replica and my 1970 ford falcon. Maybe Dennis should come back and get to see the VW collection.
I remember all the models - having been in one or seen them on the roads - except the very early "Crown"at 2.05 and the last "Sprinter" at 14.05. Toyota engines are one of the best. The straight 6 in the Land Cruiser is also the same powerplant used in the Toyota 6 tonne truck, yes they even make or made trucks. Love Toyota, as the world's people mover and this museum is doing a great work.
Out here in Waianae, I had a chance at a '58 Toyopet Crown. According to the paper, three Toyopets showed up in Dec. 1957. I used to see Mark IIs on the road in the 1980s. I drove a Nov.'68 Corona, sold new in Vegas. The yellow RT-46 was only sold in Hawaii I'm told, by people who had one in California. The Tiara was sold in the States, but the Land Cruisers outsold the cars until the later Coronas and Corollas. I have seen some mint condition '60s Crowns in Kailua before.
Had a 1980 Toyota Corona deluxe model beautiful interior maroon and silver pàint. Great, dependable car. When I went to buy another one, they were discontinued. Later models weren't half as nice so I got a Pontiac. If they put them out again I'd buy one. It was a class car. I also had a1980 mini van, my children called it my spaceship. Another great vehicle. Over 300,000 miles no problems it was a 1987 mid engine van passenger model.

A lot of Corollas sold in the states end up in Puerto Rico as second hand cars. That's where most of the running and driving AE86s are.
PUERTO RICAN WOMEN SO BEAUTIFUL.
