It's been a certainly controversial time since this videos upload, and I need to give you all some updates and words from myself. Firstly, many of you have seen and shared Craptastic Jack's rebuttal to this video, we have both been in touch since and had some good conversation hearing each other out. I've had my perspective changed, he understands mine, and we've come to a conclusion wherein we both have vastly different preferences in games, which of course fueled each of our videos respectively. We have no hard feelings, heard each other out, and we're vibin man! So to everyone calling him out, or fueling flames of war, relax, we're grown adults who sorted our problems responsibly. To finish off though, I myself to have to apologize for the overall tone and message of this video, I should have kept things far more obvious that this was my own personal thoughts, instead of attempting to change others minds about Unbound, I admit responsibility there. Of course I still stand by my thoughts on the game, but I realize the message that this video may give off and I apologize for that. I am ashamed though, that this singular take has resulted in death threats to myself, alongside aggressive DMs and comments to all parties involved. We can do better, I can do better, and I will take this as a learning experience and move forwards. Thank you all for reading, and huge shoutout to Craptastic Jack again for being a real one and handling this well. - Moses
@@dr.sivavignesh664 Honestly some bits felt unnecessary to really flame on within the video to the extent that they had. There is also the fact that people do like or even love this game over some past games such as heat. The video almost at least to me felt like people can be told to just flame the devs no matter what they do and possibly the people who like the game too because that's what people on the Internet do anyway. That being said people sending death threats over some of this is unexceptionable no matter what the case. I only hope stuff is learned from this and for them to not be at yourself up too badly for this. It might be too late to really save this game but at least criterion are trying their best to make the game (at least online since there's nothing to do in single player once you beat the story) a better experience for most.
@@racerlord2329 I have to disagree with you on unbound being anything better than any previous nfs titles. Except for the 4k 60 fps on console and good performance on pc there is nothing praise worthy of the game. The car list is 90% heat's car list. As you pointed out singleplayer is barebones to say the least. Online is as cheap as nfs no limits. As a consumer I strictly cannot agree this is a good purchase. It's a fully priced game and the dlc is being sold for even more with even less content. Crew Motorfest is updating singleplayer and multiplayer, with new cars every month , a new map this year all for free. Meanwhile unbound is offering a F2P multiplayer with basic modes 2 years after release. Those defending this should take a look at EA s track record. They never cared about their consumers ever! It's time the consumers stop viewing them as their friend and treat them as a seller of goods/ products.
@@dr.sivavignesh664 It's fair to not be able to see unbound as better than any previous games. Imo there's great stuff about unbound but they also took so many steps backwards to the point I do prefer heat in more ways than one over unbound. Same goes for many others when it comes to which nfs is worth your time and of course money. Fair enough as well where looking at the competition they give out more content than unbound for little to nothing from your pockets EA has lost their respect years ago in the gaming sphere yet people still defend their actions it's almost sad. While EA do EA things Criterion are at least trying to make the game better but unfortunately because they are pretty much under EA's thumb videos such as these can make people pretty much wish for both of them to go burn in a flame even tho it's only because of one of them not both. Gameplay wise once more there stuff Unbound do better than Heat did but there also stuff too Heat and other nfs titles did better than Unbound has done and ever will do to the point many people rather Mod Unbound to have some enjoyment while some others you don't need to mod them to enjoy them (same can be said about unbound so at that point it just comes to preference). Even with all of these updates and community support they get even from a bunch of UA-camrs compared to the competition Unbound is Imo hanging on because of the mostly caring fans in the community rather than people that stare the flaws in the face and spread their thoughts such as this. There's parts of the video people can agree on but others will not or even find unnecessary to point out. The cars being mostly from heat with some new faces (some returning cars from past nfs games) is something I personally don't see a huge reason to flame Unbound for yeah it's disappointing but plenty of other racing games let alone nfs games done similar stuff in the past yet don't get flamed for it either at all or nearly as much as Unbound has (from what I seen anyway). At the end people should spend their money and invest in what they chose Imo but stuff like this can often send a message for better or for worse and in this case it's for the worst.
@@racerlord2329 you feel pity for the devs. Even I do. But you must understand there is nothing we can do to save them. Hifi rush was successful, yet the devs were closed down. Heat was praised , yet ghost was shut down. A bunch of UA-cam videos ain't going to save anyone from companies like EA. I love rocksteady, but should we be supporting suicide squad ktjl? Just because wb doesn't close them? Nope. Unbound has been released. People who like to mod it, will mod it and use it. It's not like they made one mistake and we are trying to burn them for it. Nope. 2 years of development, 2 years post launch. We have given them ample time to even correct it. Money don't grow on trees. Each person's money should be valued. Defending such practices just because we don't want the devs to suffer is pure blackmail. And NO. Unbound updates are only mp which is the worst. Try buying a Ferrari testarossa , the game won't let you. And will ask you to win 5 races with a Ferrari. A full priced game. ! It's as bad as no limits. ( which was atleast free to play ). Please do not defend such practices. If you give EA an inch they will demand an acre.
I believe it has something to do with modding and competitive fairness. They want people to have fun with mods in sp. but race fairly with others in mp, since not all players want to mod. I don't like their greed but I don't mind this split between sp and mp
@@brandonisburiedthat argument goes straight out of the window, considering the Unite devs were able to make the mod compatible with the online MP. (Which is the only reason why people are playing the game on PC lol).
I don't pirate games normally but thank God I'm on PC so I modded the game to get all the DLC for free. I feel zero guilt against anticonsumerist companies.
I just realized that it's cheaper to get the complete DLC Bundle for MW2012, than three body-kits *Edit* : I placed the money where my mouth was and bought the game when Vol.8 was recent. Admittedly, as painful the single-player story was it was decent. That was until I got the Evija during the end-game stages where it basically became a dust-production session for the AI cars. A.$.A.P Rocky's part in the story felt like a extract from an unused interview elsewhere and felt off. *But now, with the Ultimate Collection available, that bundle is now cheaper to get compared to the MW2012 equivalent (not including discounts)!* For what it's worth, when most of the content in that bundle is mainly for the multiplayer section of the game, I'd say it's alright? I'll say that the main lobbies online are a bit meh, with or without a ton of players. But the new mode, Lockdown is actually fun, even when the first few times were confusing! While there are times where I might get arrested, or successfully extract, there's just that pull that makes me want to go back and play, be it the contracts or the cars in the lockup. It's a good money-maker too. For that I would take my initial comment back.
I hold a grudge since they altered Most Wanted 2012 and killed EA Ghost RIGHT after they released Heat. Also, why in the blue hell is an M3 GTR & Bosozoku Fairlady Z locked behind EA Play?
EA games suck now. I hope Rockstar bring back Midnight Club. And JEM release Night Runners and Beamng Drive comes available. That will end Forza, NFS, Gran Turismo, Assetto Corsa, The Crew Motorfest, Test Drive for good. This will give a chance for other killed off and forgotten titles to be revived
BlackPanthaa was the one who requested for the premium speed pass iirc. So I think we know who is to blame for making Unbound a monetized mess.😅 Edit: Just read the replies and it seems like multiple NFS UA-camrs requested for the premium speedpass. This is why NFS shouldn't be run by UA-camrs.
You just described the problem I had with GTA V. The single-player didn't get any new content, and its side content was already lacking, compared to IV.
honestly, GTA online had much more than just a few cars added. Missions, guns, houses, garages, new locations... pretty substantial stuff. And YOU DID NOT HAVE TO PAY. Shark Cards are optional!!! It's different.
@@SatongiFilmswhile it absolutely pains me, I have to agree. The unlockable content is certainly no star wars battlefront 2 grind. Nonetheless the P2W is still rpetry absurd there. The amount of single player content that got scrapped makes me despise online so I have inherent bias here as a more casual player that loves single player offline stuff. I just miss the ps2 era man
Cry about it then. Game developers will always do what they think makes them the most money when it comes to deciding what content to focus on and what audience to target. GTA 5 was supposed to get offline expanded story mode content, but it was cut off very early on in favor of the online mode, as it was shown with the leaked source code of the game and how a bunch of the latter DLCs that we got for GTA Online, like the Doomsday update, the Heists update, the Auto Shop business etc. were all based off of discontinued story expansions. GTA Online was blowing up and Rockstar knew it would be profitable to invest in that instead, and they did. Same goes for Need for Speed Unbound. When Criterion came on board, they knew that much like the last couple of games, Unbound would soon enough be sidelined and forgotten in favor of other racing games like a new Forza Horizon or The Crew, and so they chose to make the online mode separate from story mode, and it was a good step in the direction they were going in, and just because salty people like you or UltraViolet don't like it, that's just you, but the vast majority of other players loved it and still do to this day. Not a day goes by when you'll come across dead online lobbies as you'll always find people to race with, there's something to do for everyone with all the new game modes being added and the rotational PVP mode events as well, so calling the game "dead" just makes you look stupid and hilariously misinformed.
Just a disclaimer for anyone about to comment about the differences on prices displayed on screen and what Moses is saying, this script was written with my storefront in mind (which is AUD) and the recorded footage was from Moses's storefront (which is in CAD). So before you comment, we're not attempting to balloon the prices verbally, they're spoken as the prices for my currency (since I'm the one who wrote this video). If you have a different currency, feel free to do your own conversion! (or just look up how much these cost on your own storefront).
Australian cost of living is also rough as guts right now. So requesting these prices for bugger all content when luxury living is getting a cart full of groceries is pathetic.
@@GameRangerReviews88 Couldn't have said it better, why must a parmesan cheese be $4 a packet at coles???? can't have a condiment on my dinner anymore without spending an arm or a leg!!!!
True though When he review NFS Heat campaign story It was awful in Moses opinion , in which I actually agree from his point of view But Heat was an apology to 2015 and Payback since they scrapped the speedcard system from Payback and god rid of the online only option in which they reversed their decision with Payback onwards
Would love ultraviolet to make a video on how the gaming industry desperately needs an arcade racer without licenced cars. With FH 4 being delisted ( crew 1 s plug pulled ) and so many bland racing games with real cars and no damage system for more than a decade and the significance of games like split second, ridge racer and burnout 's absence makes has created a void for an innovative arcade racer.
@@UltraViolet_Moses oh boy those days were golden even if we didn't know it back then. Scrounged steam to maybe find atleast an indie arcade racer and there are like just 2 games. Gas guzzlers, trail out that's it. After playing so many racing games with almost the same list of real cars it's beginning to become stale. I miss burnout , ridge racer , blur , split second, flat out , twisted metal. Nothing like those classics.
The difference is GTA Online DLCs are all free so you're not paying anything to get new content (other than having to grind in game for the money to get all the items). I still wish they didn't abandon story mode because it's absolutely fantastic already and deserved more but GTA Online is not the comparison you wanna make here.
@@ToaGresh300 im not glazing😭, the content what we got was literally free, the shop or the bp is entirely optional, who tf wants to buy a 20 dollars bodykit😭😭
@@lockelol1916 What? You have to pay for the dlcs like the video shows unlike GTA Online dlc that release for absolutely no charge. All the "battle passes" and "volumes" in Unbound cost money.
First I hated the game, the physics and the effects. Then few months later I tried Heat and it felt pretty blend without all those bells&whistles in Unbound. Yes, two years later I still mess up the burst turns 10% of the times, but so do others. It's pretty fun just to play new Legends PVP playlist, UG2 vibes.
As someone who paid for and pre ordered the ultimate edition of Need For Speed Heat in 2019 (like a idiot) it came with a total of 5 KS Edition cars. A BMW i8, Mercedes AMG C63, 2 Mitsubishi Evo Xs, and a Chevy Corvette C7. FREE cars that came with my pre order and edition of the game right out the gate. So imagine my absolute disgust when i loaded up Unbound and saw 3 of those cars (the i8, C63, and Corvette) was being sold for in the store! Those were my cars i already paid for in the previous game and yet they want me to buy them again. Not only that, Joe's Polestar 1 (the cover car for Heat) Eddie's Skyline from Underground, and Rachel's 350z from Underground 2 were all unlocks FOR FREE if you simple completed the substories in Heat! So basically, not only did they apit in my face the first time with NFS Heat not being supported, they doubled back just to spit in my face the second time After EA stopped supporting NFS Heat all of a sudden, shut down Ghost games, gave Criterion the ropes to NFS, then DELAYED NFS Unbound for Battlefield 2042, i promised myself i would never buy another EA game again. If i would i would get it on a third party PC key site for dirt cheap and go on about my life. Yes they may have cooked with the Underground update and is finally supporting NFS, but that gets negated because, as usual, EA wants to nickle and dime the playerbase for every little thing
The post that Criterion put out "That's right, we cooked" made me cringe out of embarrassment on their behalf... The underground update got praised when in fact it was once again, recycled stuff... The drifting was what Ghost managed to pull off way back in Payback, where it definitely had the feel of the classic Underground style drift handling. The drag events was also better in Payback... And not to forget...all of that was available in single player, offline.
Want every single penny? Have you ever heard of grinding? Cuz this game has it as alternative to BUYING THE CAR DLC'S!!! No really. They don't want every penny out of your pocket they want every penny out of your pocket if you're lazy as shit. That shows how ignorant people's like you are. BOOM BABY!!!
The only thing shocks me is that they still charge us for Joe's Polestar 1 , Rachel's 350Z and Eddie's Skyline GTR which appeared in NFS Heat , but got cut at launch of NFS unbound and reintroduced through paywall dlc Edit : to own the BMW M3 GTR , EA Play subscription
Note: the Bmw M3 GTR can actually be obtained without paying for EA Play, the EA Play subscription is only to obtain it online faster. Although there is a PC only bug that makes it impossible to get the M3 GTR in single player regardless of EA Play ownership
Can you buy the car in single player after the delivery mission If not I might as well sail the 7 seas and mod the damn game make it available in single player Instead of using it for nostalgia
@@Pri11-k7l nope, it only unlocks and gives you the car in Multiplayer mode, but only on the PC version and ironically not because of EA Play (it doesn't give the M3 in single player), but because they forgot to properly code the unlock into the PC version of the game. This works fine on console btw so if you're a console player ignore everything I just said and unlock it normally
That’s not the worst part. The 2 Audi’s in vol 6 were free when the speedpass was active. If you don’t played or get the free cars in the vol 6 speedpass, then you can only get them by buying a catch-up pack. The same will happen with the M3 Touring and onwards. That’s just how worse it gets.
What even IS their problem at releasing those cars for single player? What makes single player such a thorn in their side that they must sabotage at all costs? Who am I kidding... Mr. Krabs, mind to say the line? "MONEY!"
Honestly i blame blackpanthaa. Remember when nfs heat came out, he gave it the racing game of the year and then after 3 or 4 years later he said that the game is flawed and not the best etc. Thats is his problem. He sugarcoats it too much and is scared to talk bad about thw games because the ea money is too good
Exactly.... He even has a Ghost Games tattoo on his hand, which says enough... I loved that studio for what they accomplished but he's obviously using all that for profit.
I love this take, as a person that still plays Unbound, this could not be more true. The game, multiplayer wise is actually in a pretty alright state. However, if you play single player mode, you're out of luck. As a NFS fan, play NFS HP please.
I'll be honest, as someone who, for the most part, enjoys MP races, I do feel bad for all my SP people out there. Playing against other people is really the only reason why I come back to Unbound, but SP from day one never had anything to offer for me. So it sucks to say that I never expected much from them in regards to updating SP content, simply because it's foundation isn't all that good to begin with. However, for all of us playing online, it's been pretty fun. I do think the game itself needs a massive amount of work to really reach it's full potential, but other than that I have a good time just jumping in a lobby and playing against other people.
Some people in this community are far too emotionally triggered over someone not sharing the same personal perspective as them over a racing game. It’s okay to have different views and opinions, some objectively better than others, but sending death threats over a game about racing cars 99% of the time is beyond low.
Can people stop blaming blackpanthaa for this because I don't think it was his fault just because he was talking about it in a video or on stream 🤷 in my own opinion I get why they were doing it because they need some way for EA to make money but I thought Apex Legends was the cow to EA. I think that criterion didn't want to do any of this but EA just forced it all.
$75 for 3 body kits is WILD. There should be no single item in a game that costs 1/3 of the cost of the entire base game. There's not a single DLC item in ANY game right now that is worth that much real life money.
You can simply buy Mortal Kombat 1 premium edition with guest characters included with Jean Claude Van Dam skin with the same price if you didn't mind paying that much
I sure love a fanbase that is pretty much another good example of having stockholm syndrome, who pretty much fit the definition of insanity I remember when Raycevick made that video about roadblocks in gaming, praising NFS Heat's approach to monetization by just not doing what EA is doing nowadays with Unbound, but alas, I doubt the community financially backing this game up is cognizant of what the consumer has been effectively enabling over the past few years with gaming as far as predatory and straight up apalling de facto scams.
Criterion literally adds new playlists and/or gamemodes each update. It's not giving them money for nothing. Though I do agree that some microtransactions are ridiculous, but I didn't buy any of them until Vol. 7 because I like the new drag racing gamemode and new drift handling model for the drift races (plus there were some customization in the BP I like).
I have 2 questions @@Maximus0451 1 - Were the aforementioned game modes added to the single player too, or were they exclusive to multiplayer? 2 - Did you watch the video? If you can't answer neither of these then this case is pretty much closed
@@CameronKelly-bz6ht oh yeah of course, I was meaning. I myself, do not care about the customization they’ve put it the game that has taken resources from developing the gameplay itself. Hopefully this clears up my initial comment :)
Y'know, I'm gonna stand by my opinion just as you stood by yours. I hated Unbound's initial release just as much as the next person! But as of today, Unbound (at least for me) is looking pretty good. Yell at me all you want, I don't really care! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Speaking as someone who pre-ordered NFS Unbound (worst mistake of my life) after enjoying Heat and hoping Unbound would be the next step towards bringing us back to the classics, I gave up half way through because of rubber banding Ai, stupid cops that felt like annoying flies you just could get rid of, a boring bland map and just an all round unresponsive and slow feel. I recently decided to go back and try it again thinking maybe this time the game, that was the second worst mistake of my life.
I played Unbound using a Gamepass trial I had in the past month and got pretty bored really quickly. The physics were good, but the career mode was just tedious. Instead, based on this channel, I decided to play NFS Hot Pursuit remastered, since I skipped that as I dropped off NFS after the Black Box era, and I found myself having a blast. The main difference I found that made the difference was the amount of sheer padding in Unbound with it's lack of fast travel, grindy meta-progression and repetitive events, or lack of padding per say with Hot Pursuit, where you just drop in and drive when I want and what I want. Honestly a complete breath of fresh air compared to what's being produced now.
I got to try Unbounded Via steam for 10 hours when they offered it. Where I had to open the EA app. Which even if I already had an account cause EA was so adamant about everyone having Origin "Cause we can totally be like steam". So that was already strike one as I knew this would be the case if I had bought the game. And when I get to play it, the characters just do not interest me at all (at least points for making the genric rivals actually have a background, but TXR did that trick way better). And the story I couldn't care less about. And then I get to do the actual driving, and it's just heat with a new gimmick with yellow nos. Which I guess keeps up engagement but just still feels tacked on. Not to mention even on medium the rivals are weirdly tough for the start of the game (as in chapter 1, not the tutorial). I eventually put it down to easy to try and do a money glitch at the end of the first big race and had a better time. Sadly couldn't get the glitch to work so I could see more out the 10 hours. And eventually my time was up. And unlike when they did the same with Heat, I have no desire to go back to Unbound. There was not enough in 10 hours to keep me interested or go "Yeah I wanna see the end". Cause the story is a worse telling of Most Wanted, the shallow "Choose a starter before we take it away" is even more under cut when half the options can be gotten by the time you're ready for your first big race. And if you didn't just go with the body kit the game kinda pushed on you in the tutorial, it gets changed later anyways. So it's hard to even say it's YOUR car.
Let’s not forget that the same company also tried to argue that loot boxes provide a sense of pride and accomplishment when you get that one thing you wanted after opening 100 boxes. I am not surprised by these prices at all. In fact I was like “ahhhh yup, there’s the EA we all know and love”
That's why we maintain and support DLC unlockers, soon we'll have more DLCs than the Sims. Also, 5-10 years down the road, when the servers will be shut down, half of the cars won't be obtainable, "CoMpLeTe 20 SpEcIaL pLaYLiSts to unlock this car" (even for singleplayer). Thankfully, mods exist, but Frosty is barely hanging on for dear life. On the note of battle passes, even if you bought it, but couldn't finish it, guess what, you can buy everything through a catch up pack DLC, released 1 volume later, lmao. Next, they consulted with community members, who just can't stop yapping about handling, progression, easy cops, and the good old MW05 days, so now we have a nostalgia roadmap to satifsy the vocal minority.
If you think of it, this is something familiar that happened between GTA 5 and GTA online where in online we would get new content meanwhile on story mode, unless you do some modding, you wouldn't get new content via vehicles and weapons.
My biggest issue with Unbound is how you can no longer race against the computer racers like in every racing game ever. like why did they think this was a good change or a change that was necessary? You can only race other players to progress which means you will not win as often because gosh forbid you use your new stock car. the next nfs needs to go back to all of it connected. like i have no idea what they were smoking
That's why REMIX team is the MVP, they saved the game from its demise. And although Forza Horizon 5's new cars are mostly free, you still HAVE TO complete the playlist to a certain degree, and in the set time window (one week) in order to actually acquire those new cars, otherwise it's gone almost forever.
7:30 The fact that you're supporting Ubisoft's shady practices, should say it all. You call Unbound a scam and force everyone into hating on it, but you're completely shrugging off what Ubisoft did in March. Complaining because Unbound gets content (I admit, some should be in the game since day one) while praising TCM/Ubisoft is pathetic. You can like TCM, that I don't care, but you CAN'T say Unbound is a scam while Ubisoft did worse than that. I can still play Unbound whenever I want, but I can't do the same thing with TC1, why? Because Ubisoft removed it! They didn't even give it a offline patch as well!
Can't forget about the corrupted file issues that people are experiencing, makes you start all over from scratch and if it happens again you'll most likely have to make a new account just to continue playing. I've had my save get corrupt once and I had at least 800 hours put into it, the frustration and everything else that I felt when that happened I wanted to throw my controller. Love the videos and keep up the content 👍
NFS ended after Rivals to me anyway but Unbound used to be (USED TO) a great fresh air to me until Vol 5 which made me turn on it completely. Funny how Heat made a response to Payback backlash by removing microtransactions JUST for Unbound to be overloaded with paid items
$75 dollars for a body kit that should be free hell yeah ea that was totally the move that would make your fans play the game more and drop money on the game
I've bought Unbound most expensive edition last year. I have put in a good 100+ hours. I have enjoyed my time with it in singleplayer. My friend saw me playing and wanted us to play some multiplayer racing game together so he bought it as well only for us to find all this monetization BS. I was already not a big fan of buying anything from EA, but after this I don't think I'll even buy their games from key resellers.
Oh years ago cannot tell you enough how racing games used to be amazing. Now they all suck because of the companies being so greedy and rushing and not actually finishing the game properly without bugs or whatnot
The sad thing is.. that golden era was like.. 10 to 15 years ago. Theres a whole generation of gamers not even hearing a thing about these masterpieces. (The blackbox era of nfs, FM4, FH1, MC3 and LA, burnout trilogy, gt2 to gt6)
Racing games at their core today are quite good. But they don't have the same creativity or boldness of the golden era 10+ years ago due to these greedy publishers. Unbound online is a blast and is dripping with style but EA is very obviously holding it back. The Crew Motorfest has the foundation but barely any real dev support, and deleting TC1 just made all of the fans angrier. FH4 is getting thrown off the market in 6 months even though it's their second best selling installment. FM8 is hot GARBAGE. GT7 is more or less a joke. Wreckfest is great but is on its way out. And Test Drive Solar Crown is in and out of development hell.
Like many others, I got baited into re-visiting this game after a couple updates and just like you, ended up finding out that the content was only for the entirely separate multiplayer that I was barely interested in enough at launch to even finish a single race. These updates should have instead focused on addressing core issues the entire experience has, improving the elements of the game that already made it significantly weaker than its own predecessor, but no, nothing, singleplayer remains unchanged, the same shallow, lifeless husk it always was. NFS Heat was better than Unbound at launch and it still is. Significantly better...
5 months later: they relased 3 versions of the BMW M3 GT-R and alluded to the nostalgia factor of Most Wanted. These guys will never improve. Just leave Unbound and never go back if you have that game.
Honestly thought Criterion took good steps forwards for this game sadly EA made it neutral but regardless of difference opinion I would still buy it was is not the triple A industry monetization
I had quit playing unbound a while ago, did not realize that they took a similar path OW did with "OW2", another game I enjoyed playing when it was good. How did we go from just paying $60 for a full game to $60 for cosmetics they release every month? Truly baffles me
@@CameronKelly-bz6htlol its the same kids who only played one fucking hour on unbound and straight up quit and never tried ut again theres now so much to do new content too. Why shitting on it everytime if you never tried it before??
Time for a bunch of why's: Why is the single player abandoned despite the fact that a lot of players don't care and don't wanna play online (me included)? Why are none of the new Vol 7 features like drag racing and drift pro tyres in single player, despite the fact that both are proven to be perfectly fine working in a solo environment? Why, if you fully split single and multi progression, am I still forced to go to the online mode to unlock some BASE cars that cannot be obtained in any other way, outside of game modding - Porsche Taycan and the Delorean? If the servers get shut down (because they will), how are players on consoles supposed to get those cars, if they cannot mod the game? Why in order to unlock even the most basic cars online, I have to grind the same events/playlists over and over again, sometimes for multiple hours - good example being the Lancer Evo IX, for which to unlock I had to do 20 playlists in any other Mitsubishi.... which I had to grind for first for like 3 hours to unlock that other car? Why is the entirety of free roam online races build around playlists, of which barely any are just a single one race? Why are a bunch of races and events online exclusive? Why was the single player build around meetups, which force the player to constantky keep on going to the same locations, just to do races that are doable only once per session, and are often worth 2-3k $? Why are the cops inconsistent to the level where they just rubberband to you on highways and faster road portions, yet in the city they are so bad and confused on where to go and how to follow you, you could lose them while driving a wheelchair? Why is all of the volume content dropped in a way that requires you to grind for 20 hours to unlock a FUCKING CHARACTER FOR ONLINE MODE, a character that you see for an entire nanosecond every like 58 days? Why was there no single player story DLC/update? Despite the previous games receiving one? I could keep on going on, but here is my point: I did mostly enjoy Unbound for the time I was going through the story. But the moment I went online, it became nothing else than a chore to play. The fact that you have to unlock everything again is only a part of the problem - how you have to unlock it is the core of the issue. And honestly? I cannot be bothered. I cannot be bothered to play for 4 hours to unlock a single car. I cannot be bothered to do playlists to progress through some seasonal ladder against AI, just to unlock a car version I don't give crap about. I cannot be bothered to go through an entire speedpass to unlock a car + a bodykit that I won't use, because I have no reason to do so, because there is nothing for me, as a single player focused person, to do anymore. I know that there might be people who will disagree, some will agree, some might even shit on me. But I don't care anymore. Just as I don't care about this game anymore.
"I did mostly enjoy Unbound for the time I was going through the story. But the moment I went online, it became nothing else than a chore to play." is a perfect articulation of my experience with it tbh thanks
They said on a Q & A that it's really hard to modify the game's original source code so it's hard to implement the new content into single player without possibly corrupting anything (I am not an expert and I don't know that else can be done) Regarding everything else: yeah that's just stupid
@@RaWStuFFzand then there's a group of modders called Team Unite who literally unlocked all the multiplier content for single player without source code knowledge
I guess I might be in the minority here, but I have actually had a lot of fun with unbound. The main reason is that I didn't purchase the game until the Audi update came out. When the devs, who didn't get sent to work on battlefield, said that they are going to fix this broken game with a kaizen model. So, I was able to pick up the game for $15, played through the singleplayer to get used to the game, see the cringey story that desperately needed some form of story arc that wasn't paperthin, and then get online. I was disappointed with losing my f50 that was maxed out with an Arecus wrap, but with how quickly you earn money in the game, I was able to get my bank up to where the only thing stopping me from purchasing a car is unlocking it. I spent the extra money for the Audi and Underground premium pass because the handling you actually want in the game is on the Audis and the underground pass gave you two more cars that have that handling model (as well as some great cosmetics that match the Underground vibe). I am consistently going back to the game once a week because the gameplay loop is so fun. I play multiplayer like a single-player game, do some challenges, smash some billboards, make money on the linkups, buy a new car, and do it all over again. Now that the multiplayer races can start with just 1 person, you can play all the events without worrying about someone joining you. Drift is fun, a little flawed with traffic and a terrible dual drift mechanic. Drag is old school need for speed fun and with unbound's customization you really can suprise people with cars that aren't meta. I will say that so far, I got my moneys worth, but for the people that paid full price and bought the editions that should have included all the DLC, I can understand the terrible taste in their mouths for this game.
Its ok bro, it's not minority, just seeing all the lobbies of the game fill is ok for me,i'm enjoying the game too, this people want everything in one day😂
Played unbound once, completed the campaign and i returned it to my friend because unlike heat i HAVE to pay for some cars that are unironically more expensive than some games
Which is sad cause Unbound and Heat had potential but EA keeps fumbling with a half assed story, battle passes that have rewards that arent even worth the purchase, lack of private lobbies and only having 3 players max (i feel like free roam should allow a squad a 6 imo). The Vol. 9 Update was the last "gasp of air" this game had.
Well that’s a shame, was hoping by the end of the year you’d let us know your thoughts on what has changed/been added. I’ll mention this as well since you’re demanding for this game to just die (kinda ironic since you know, NFS Heat), the whole point was not to save Unbound for years to come, they’d rather take the game that they have ready to use to experiment and collect feedback from its player base than to start working on the next one. It’s all hopium but it’s better than taking another shot in the dark and then releasing another NFS title that fails to meet fan’s expectations, again.
When did we ask for a live service battlepass, dripfeeding already made cars for a year and a half, making bodykits dlcs, locking out new cars behind a paywall and paywalling the hero cars from the last game as a dlc
@@Plate_Productions When did we ask for them to drop gamemodes and other forms of content that have actual weight to them *for free* instead of just putting it all behind a paywall?

This is one of the reasons why I don't like #Wewantnfs like DustinEden. series is doing well, but they say it's dead because there's no new game, and they say it's dead because they don't like the new game. What on earth do you want? Are you trying to give game developers PTSD? If people can retire, franchise should be able to retire too. It was pathetic that the fandom was doxxing UltraViolet because they didn't like the review.
Doxxers are annoying and should be treated as criminals, but yeah I'm also annoyed with the state of the NFS Fandom and basically every Fandom I'm a part of because it's like everyone is spreading negativity instead enjoying their things like cars and games, rather just finding something to hate on

It staggers me how so many people foam at the mouth because I said "I didn't enjoying playing MW2005 that much."
@haaxxx9 giving it a "fair shot" is not what UltraViolet has done whatsoever. He complains that there's no new content when he's literally choosing not to play it, and while it sucks it's online only, it exists and it isn't pay to win like UltraViolet seems to believe.
What’s worse is that the only car you only get online free in the base game on NFS unbound you get the mclearen F1 but it’s no match for the crew motorfest
To be completely honest I see why they are focusing on online and not the single player part of the game. As a P.C. player, the first thing I've done was to mod me some cash. Around 1b. Why did I do that? I feel like grinding for money in any game should not be something you should focus on. Especially in a racing game. I loved when I needed to grind for parts in Need for Speed Heat, that at least gave me a sense of achievement greater than the one of finishing the game. Especially because it feels so forced on the player, and the writing of that game is not the best, to say the least. Other than that, my biggest frustration when it comes to Unbound, is the amount of microtransactions that I'm kind of forced to pay for, if I really want the full experience, which is why I modded the game to get every dlc for free. And to this day, the game feels kind of unfinished. But I guess this leaves room for other dlc's and updates, just to keep the community hooked.
I swear youre the only one talking about these major issues with this game. Content creators like blackpanthaa sugar coat this game for having a half ass drag race mode or the new quote on quote cars in the game.
He condemned the recycling of free content available in NFS Heat for a premium (K.S. Edition cars, Hero cars) at least watch his videos before you criticize him
That’s the beauty of live service, gotta keep the lights on somehow. Or we could just go back to releasing games as is and never touch them afterwards to work on the next one. It’s a business.

Yep, I'm not even considering starting Unbound without the Unite mod, that adds all the stuff from multiplayer to singleplayer and more... Buying Unbound on release was my biggest mistake

I play multiplayer & don’t spend real money on anything but the PlayStation thingy that allows me to play multiplayer The new modes like drift & drag have been a revolution but I get how it can rub career mode players the wrong way. Honestly the last time I played career mode was the day I completed it then went on to multiplayer only to discover I gotta start again Having to start over sucked yes, definitely, but at 59 cars and $+70,000,000 later I think it’s grown on me to become one of the best nfs games I’ve ever played [just multiplayer] because there’s quite a lot to do in both the PVP mode & the free roam mode, the link ups ; racing league & challenges, have made it quite a gem. The only thing it’s missing is a cops and robbers mode cause I want to play cop & ruin a lot of peoples time online 😂, if they add that then need for speed unbound would become incomparable to anything even remotely relating to arcade racing games The one thing that I do absolutely still hate them for is not including proximity chat because the career mode hinted at that so badly with racers talking out of pocket during a race. Till they get that one right it’ll still feel unfinished Ps. Been a die hard nfs fan for all my life so it’s extremely possible that there’s a bias over how I feel about every nfs game but I will say on release I hated it (literally owned it but played HEAT kinda hate) it wasn’t until these volumes started dropping that I gave it another shot & I’m surprised at how much I now enjoy it - I will say again, I enjoy it but do not spend any real money on any pass or whatever . Really to me. The concept is hilarious on both that creators think it works and someone out there actually regularly spends real money on animated anything💀💀💀💀💀💀
This kind of issues made me quit the crew 2, paying for a game pass when i already bought the deluxe edition... I even tried this game on game pass when it was free to test for a few hours and i am not going back to it now that it's obviously full of microtransactions

Finally, someone has spoken about this! I'm so sick of the current focus on multiplayer games. I also prefer single-player games where I can do everything at my own pace in peace, but we're always forgotten. I understand why they focus on multiplayer, but I wish they would apply the same changes to single-player games, AT LEAST. Edit: I just wanted to mention how excited I was for the new TDU game and had been waiting for it for a decade. I lost all of my hope when I saw that it's multiplayer-focused and missing so many features. This online focus is ruining and dumbing down games.

Stay strong. It's the society that's deranged if they are making threats over stating facts about a game. 👍🏻
*Edit* : I placed the money where my mouth was and bought the game when Vol.8 was recent.

First I hated the game, the physics and the effects. Then few months later I tried Heat and it felt pretty blend without all those bells&whistles in Unbound.
So basically, not only did they apit in my face the first time with NFS Heat not being supported, they doubled back just to spit in my face the second time
After EA stopped supporting NFS Heat all of a sudden, shut down Ghost games, gave Criterion the ropes to NFS, then DELAYED NFS Unbound for Battlefield 2042, i promised myself i would never buy another EA game again.
The only thing shocks me is that they still charge us for Joe's Polestar 1 , Rachel's 350Z and Eddie's Skyline GTR which appeared in NFS Heat , but got cut at launch of NFS unbound and reintroduced through paywall dlc
Edit : to own the BMW M3 GTR , EA Play subscription

I remember when Raycevick made that video about roadblocks in gaming, praising NFS Heat's approach to monetization by just not doing what EA is doing nowadays with Unbound, but alas, I doubt the community financially backing this game up is cognizant of what the consumer has been effectively enabling over the past few years with gaming as far as predatory and straight up apalling de facto scams.
Criterion literally adds new playlists and/or gamemodes each update. It's not giving them money for nothing. Y'know, I'm gonna stand by my opinion just as you stood by yours. I hated Unbound's initial release just as much as the next person! But as of today, Unbound (at least for me) is looking pretty good.
Yell at me all you want, I don't really care! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Man share your thoughts, it’s the internet lol. Don’t worry too much on what other people think.
Agree with you word for word.
Also, it's funny that you seem to be praising Horizon 5 in this video, while you took a dump on it not once but TWICE last year...

The fact that you're supporting Ubisoft's shady practices, should say it all.
I praised one minigame, that’s it. Never justified anything Ubisofts done, just said one, minigame was fun
And lets not forget you have to pay actual money for a wholly seperate currency and at some point actual cars.
That didn't age well. TC2 and Motorfest are getting an offline patch at EOL.
Still sucks that Ubisoft killed TC1.

Oh years ago cannot tell you enough how racing games used to be amazing. Now they all suck because of the companies being so greedy and rushing and not actually finishing the game properly without bugs or whatnot

Time for a bunch of why's:
Why is the single player abandoned despite the fact that a lot of players don't care and don't wanna play online (me included)?

@@CameronKelly-bz6ht Yeah, that's true. ProStreet & Shift series have grown on me, but I grew up with UG2 as my first NFS game.
Edition cars, Hero cars) at least watch his videos before you criticize him
Lol half of you kids have not watched a single video of him yet you act like you've been a sub of him since he made a channel here💀

I remember when they paywalled the audi r8 decal from carbon. I found it in the community decals😂
Same with the Deluxe E46 in 2015 lol
I fxcking hate car packs it just shows the devs are desperate for bucks and ain’t listening to us, it should be all free ffs
That’s the beauty of live service, gotta keep the lights on somehow. Or we could just go back to releasing games as is and never touch them afterwards to work on the next one. It’s a business.
@@ToaGresh300Better if games returned to that and released full polished games instead of the garbage we see now in the industry as a whole.

Unbound is just a crashbag bullzhit
The video ending up with a somber tone and high energy action music blasting right after it
Everyone else: complaints of the monetizations for extra content and still need to grind for em
Me: aye linkup, free money lets go~ new car modifications to get to
BlackPanthaa has done irrefutable damage to racing games.
The most annoying UA-camr in the racing game sphere...
After he got the R34, everything went downhill about him in my opinion when it comes to content...
I don't he has that much influence over racing games. Maybe the people that buy them but not the actual content.
@@GavinGalix that's not true at all😂 he is literally the biggest advocate for racing games come on now...😒
@@CameronKelly-bz6ht his m3 build will never be finished rip
@@CameronKelly-bz6ht yeah so? I just said my opinion about his m3. i havent been on touch for a while on his car
atleast i have fun collecting things i can enjoy with unlike some collector who keeps them away in a warehouse collecting dust.
I do understand this point of view. Although recently I have really enjoyed playing through and doing the playlist and playing with my friend and getting new stuff but I never pay for the pass because it's just not worth the cost
I’m stuck on last gen consoles so I couldn’t play it even if I wanted to and I wouldn’t play unbound Because of how bad people have told me it is.
Just get gamepass Ultimate. No need to Buy these games if we don't Even own them
Yep, I'm not even considering starting Unbound without the Unite mod, that adds all the stuff from multiplayer to singleplayer and more... Buying Unbound on release was my biggest mistake
Lmao this is sad to watch
@@youssef1770you are, too
Agreed
In fact, for the current speed pass, you’re paying 10 USD (15 AUD) only for the Mustang you still have to grind for. (the BMW is free)
so in comparision, you can get only 1 new car without paying money? nice strategy EA
And Forza H5 got the 2023 GT for free, and now few weeks ago the dark horse for free if you played the list, and we even got the sick bodykit...... + Cruising in forza is well the best.
I play multiplayer & don’t spend real money on anything but the PlayStation thingy that allows me to play multiplayer
The new modes like drift & drag have been a revolution but I get how it can rub career mode players the wrong way. Honestly the last time I played career mode was the day I completed it then went on to multiplayer only to discover I gotta start again
Having to start over sucked yes, definitely, but at 59 cars and $+70,000,000 later I think it’s grown on me to become one of the best nfs games I’ve ever played [just multiplayer] because there’s quite a lot to do in both the PVP mode & the free roam mode, the link ups ; racing league & challenges, have made it quite a gem. The only thing it’s missing is a cops and robbers mode cause I want to play cop & ruin a lot of peoples time online 😂, if they add that then need for speed unbound would become incomparable to anything even remotely relating to arcade racing games
The one thing that I do absolutely still hate them for is not including proximity chat because the career mode hinted at that so badly with racers talking out of pocket during a race. Till they get that one right it’ll still feel unfinished
Ps.
I even tried this game on game pass when it was free to test for a few hours and i am not going back to it now that it's obviously full of microtransactions
pack it up everybody we goin back to mariokart wii
nfs unbound is too casual, i wish it was more aggressive with the story and for the gameplay, missed opportunity from criterion
They don't want to upset those 3yos with that hardcore cop chase of MW05 and to me, bullying cops in this game is ironically the most fun shit to do.
@@STRIDER_503heat and Rivals had more aggressive cops
There is so much unfair hatred for this game
Faxs 💯 its sad tbh..😔😞😞
what do you mean exactly by "unfair"?
@@diecastreviews11 Probably because OP didn’t really play Multiplayer, but instead decided to shank its monetization. But honestly, it probably wouldn’t have changed OP’s mind anyway even if he did play it.
@@diecastreviews11 well just in vol 6 they added the ability to remove the smoke effects and half the comments about that change is just people going "ok NOW I will buy it".
unbound has an awesome art direction, great AI, cool events and and a very good grip model yet people complain about a couple of cars being behind a paywall and the most insignificant of critiques, while actual downsided are being glossed over because of how dumb this fanbase is.
this vid has some good points, but damn, you guys suck.
yeah this game is very unfairly hated.
mate the cops in this game suck trash lmao. wasn't as fun as heat's one.
Makes me wonder, who the hell is paying for this stuff? It's insane what these companies do to games that already costs an arm and a leg
Id love to see you review this classic arcade racer from 2010 called Blur, a racing game with good physics, mariokart like gameplay, licensed cars and an amazing and creative singleplayer.
I cant even progress past the first week cause of how bs and unfair the difficulty is even on easy! They need to make earning money easier and faster for singleplayer!!!
I play on console, after have paid for all dlcs I'm now left with a very disappointing message "Inventory could not be loaded, error code F03". This renders the game useless as you can't get online and you can't purchase or sell anything within the game. EA customer support does absolutely nothing to help. This game is still very very very broken.
you could now buy the ultimate edition of the game which contains all dlc in the game including the speed pass and if you bought the ultimate edition during black Friday(which i did ) you could get all dlc saving you 80% if you didnt just buy each dlc separately
I agree EA is just straight up greedy and they make me cringe there's one thing you didn't mention on there that I would like to mention for everybody else I grinded and unlocked a body kit for one of my Porsches the minute I switched the body kits I lost my body kit and yet a month later saw you could buy the body kit back that you grinded for for $10 that's right $10 for something I grind it for for free I tried resetting the game reinstalling the game and my body kit was just gone all due to the fact that I wanted to switch out to the stock body kit went back for my hard grinded body kit and it was gone yes yay is greedy and rather than making new rims and new content they just sit there and make me stupid 3D design neon wheels that I don't even give a s*** about I'm well past my 40s and I've been on need for speed fan since before heat but you want to know why I really hate the game now it's because they have found ways like you were saying to just pull all the money that they can out of your wallet and not offering anything I think this thing for speed game can be well enjoyed by somebody who's in 5th grade maybe Middle School but it's not a game for anybody 18 and up it's very pathetic that there's people still making content for this game saying how excited they are about they're dropping this to that cops and robbers this new update coming out it's pretty pathetic because they get paid by the company to represent them that's what they do I'm not going to say any names but you know who you are and shame on you for continuing to support such a company who just cares nothing about taking your money then providing you with great content I have not touched single player because I can't use any other stuff I got on there because I'm broke in single player but I have money and multiplayer same stuff I like single player and I can't do anything because there's just no content at all to be playing on single player since they separated it well that's it is rest in peace ghost need for speed heat was the best and could have been the best automotive arcade style racing game I wonder why EA fired goes after the first month of the release maybe because they didn't set their game up like this one huh yeah I think that's it body kits one at a time for $10 a piece. Yeah NFS is at bottom of the toilet , good luck getting out , best thing to do is flush it ,and let it die along with it stupid meets for cash , that absolutely suck I might add .
Criterion / EA trying a GTA online without being good at it
I’m no fan of the monetization and I’m sure EA isn’t giving the devs much of a choice either. I think we can at get hype for what they can do with the next game. If EA lets Criterion cook, I can see the next NFS being an absolute banger.
Criterions staff have a *Legally Protected Right* as UK Citizens to *Unionize and go on Strike* to get EA to stop bullying them around, if they do not take it, then they are Culpable along with EA!
@@pathetic_pal Criterion has it in them. They’ve been making steady improvements to the engine that Ghost have been working on with new modes, tweaks to the handling etc. If all of this can culminate into a game that’s inoffensive in its presentation, I think they have a decent shot. Why do you think it can’t happen?

Finally, someone has spoken about this! I'm so sick of the current focus on multiplayer games. I also prefer single-player games where I can do everything at my own pace in peace, but we're always forgotten. I understand why they focus on multiplayer, but I wish they would apply the same changes to single-player games, AT LEAST.
Edit: I just wanted to mention how excited I was for the new TDU game and had been waiting for it for a decade. I lost all of my hope when I saw that it's multiplayer-focused and missing so many features. This online focus is ruining and dumbing down games.
