Cant thank you enough messaged you about 2 year ago on your channel cos was watching a video on circle of fifths saw patterns and peeny dropped a bit and since my playing gone from strengths to strengths now playing solos live I f&%king love you man❤
Chris really just nails it. That lesson absolutely hits the mark on understanding how to use the scales properly. Especially in different octaves. Then it helps learn the entire neck faster.
Always love when you have Chris on the channel. Even if it’s something I’m already familiar with, it’s like I learn it all over again lol. Thanks Marty and Chris!
👏👏👏 wow great lesson. This helped me better understand great soloing. I used to play the entire scale when improvising but now I’m changing it up and will help me get by music school
The theory is really interesting and applicable, but it’s difficult to see exactly where you’re playing on the fretboard - a tab overlay showing fingers and fret positions would be really helpful to document those shapes, so we can apply the practice during the video.
I’m not trying to be rude but if you are a musician you should be able to see visually the fret board and hear the note he’s playing. Experienced guitarist is able to pick this up by listening and watching.
Love it! Marty's look is like, Dude, I don't understand the words that coming outta ur moffth! Not that's true, but funny none the less! Love both of these amazing teachers!!
Really awesome advice! Wish I'd heard it before memorizing the 5 positions... 🙄 But, I hope that lots of others will see this video early on in their guitar journey.
Great vid. I’m exactly at the stage of learning those shapes and can understand them intellectually. But if I pick up my guitar and there’s a beat going and I try to start using them, my brain aches and my fingers trip up. I think this will help.
Oh man, what a blast! Thanks @MartyMusic for having back. It's always a pleasure to get in front of your gang!

Oh man, that extra bend at the beginning... So simple but adds sooo much. Definitely tryin it when I practice today.

Thanks mate. I'll check this later. For those who don't know Chris is an exceptional teacher too. His YT channel is brilliant.
This video was pure gold! I've been learning some scales/modes but wasn't sure what to do with them, this video is awesome!

Amazing how you follow the octave to octave and all of a sudden you know where all the A's are to the point where it is intuitive. Awesome lesson.
Two of my favorite teachers in the same video? Yes, please!!😁🎸🎶🤘🤘
And Sonic Gravity would be a cool band name!
This is great. I know the 5 pentatonic shapes and now I’m working on the root locations. Great lesson.

@@Matt-ry2zk not to be rude but not everyone trying to learn is an experienced player.
@@ryancleland7179hahahaha . Listen, the beginners level is about developing your knowledge of the fretboard.
