Heather Hare, 38, pleaded guilty in an Arkansas court to federal charges of transporting a minor across state lines for unlawful sexual activity. She admitted to having sexual contact with a minor boy not only during a field trip, but also at her home, in her classroom, and in a parking lot. Law&Crime’s Jesse Weber discusses this latest heinous admission with litigation attorney and victims’ rights advocate Hillary Nappi.

When I was in 6th grade, the woman gym teacher called me into the gym girls locker room. Asked me to strip because someone had "stolen money" from the locker room. I was young, naive & believed her! Little did I know she did it for her own sick intentions. It didn't even hit me until another girl student ran to the principal because she had been touched! I hadn't. I remember the door opening & her saying now get your clothes on!" I found out their was no money taken. I was so embarrassed to say anything until after she got fired. This is just horrific. I'm 35 now! It's worse than ever!!!

Guys always say that SA male victims are lucky but it’s the ones who are actually SA’d as teens I rather listen to. These men don’t tend to feel the same after the initial excitement wears off. And when they have children who reach that age later on life It hits them like a train how their hormones and emotions were manipulated by an unstable adult.

Yep, I just watched a video about this female teacher back in the 80s who got with her 13yr old male student, she even had a baby with him, years later, he turned to drinking, and even in the interviews, you could tell he regretted it, there’s a whole video on it, it’s sad that society basically tells male students who have been touched by female teachers that they aren’t victims when in reality, yes they are manipulating their emotions is very much victimizing them, it’s disgusting.

I hope his parents get him in therapy. There is a stigma where guys should be fantasizing about doing that with their teacher that you’re so lucky kind of thing. When he is not lucky, he is a victim! Ruins future relationships ruins, his perception of what a relationship should be like all kinds of trauma that people do not think of or ever get helpful because they don’t understand it.

I am not strong enough to go through something like this. The closest thing I have (for now) to a child is a nephew. If someone took advantage of him that way, I would be beyond furious. I swear, I would show up to that classroom, and we'd both go to jail. This behavior is out of control and disgusting.

These kids need a lot of therapy. They need to know they are strong and they need to know it’s not okay so they do not become the next offender. Sadly it does happen. These kids are scarred and no one talks to them about real life. We have an associate who’s 12 year old was just violated by a great uncle, no one specifically has said what exactly it was but police were involved and people were forbidden to see the kids, but now that 12 year old has a boyfriend and her parents are very neglectful of these kids. Sad to think what influences this had on her and now her younger siblings will learn from her as well. Parents need to get serious about talk therapy for these children. They need to intervene and help them get back to normal.

There should definitely be some kind of psychological evaluation before people become apart of the ‘important job’ careers. Like teaching, police, government, etc. That’s just me though.
They do run police checks. Unfortunately these types of predators slip through the cracks sometimes. Yes, there needs to be better protection in place for kids.

I’m gonna have to disagree whole heartedly with her deserving a life sentence. I understand the power dynamic and the fact that he was her student and I agree it’s wrong because of that reason and also cuz he’s not 18 yet but to treat this like he’s a little boy who doesn’t know what’s happening to him, doesn’t know it’s wrong, and can’t defend himself is too much. If he were 18 and she was just a teacher not HIS teacher nobody would bat an eye. Should she be punished? Absolutely. A year or so in jail, being put on the offender registry, losing her teaching license, etc I think is fair.

Why do we never get the "victims" version of events in this lots videos . Not an American so not sure what age the guy is but i believe 17/18 is senior high school age . No way was it taking me 20 to 30 times to decide if i was enjoying doing something or not at that age .Would i have got involved with her if she had given me the come on. That would be no as even at that age i knew getting involved with a married woman the outcome would most likely be an irate husband on my tail and as this is America probably armed . when i was 12 yrs old my mom took me to the doctor for a physical exam. the female doctor told me to undress n told my mom to wait outside. she then told me to take my underwear off n she look on my private area n put a finger inside just a lil bit. she said she was checking me out . i came out shaking and confused . to this day i dont know if that part of a physical exam. im 38 now n never had a physical exam like that since then. i still dont know what that was about.
No... that's not normal. They have to explain everything they're doing & why... and if touching you down there I'm pretty sure they have to have someone else in the room. I had side pain in hs and my dr wanted to give me a pelvic AND rectal exam. I was getting undressed when the nurse told me to stop because I had a uti & couldn't be examined. I went to another dr and he told me I had kidney stones in about 30 seconds... w all my clothes staying on. Lol. They know we don't know better and will usually be too uncomfortable to mention it to anybody. Sorry that happened to you. So many sick people out here... all around us... and they look like everyone else.

They’re giving out these sentences probably to make examples out of them but I think it’s ridiculous a year or so, losing your ability to ever teach again, being put on the registry, and probably losing your entire family is punishment enough right?
