Thank you for sharing a wonderful video. One question . Is there anything else we could use to replace yogurt if we want the soap to be vegan. Thanks in advance
Not really. What we are using in the yogurt is the lactic acid. If you add lactic acid directly to your soap, it will separate so the only option for now is Yogurt. You can also look in to adding sorbitol but it doesn't work well for hot process soap. It can work in CP soap.
From my experience, when I use plant based oils only, there's no need to include yogurt (there's a ratio for hard oils versus soft oils when formulating your recipe as well). I've also used sodium lactate as a vegan alternative (added to my lye water solution) to make the soap more fluid (that's a standard part of all of my recipes) and would be a sufficient substitute for your recipe. I also would use a pot that would allow my stick blender head to be fully submerged while stick blending the oils. Another benefit of high temp hot process soap making is that you can super fat post cook.
@@ruthreya2873 the oil is 102C, very hot. The lye was added right away. This process is for experienced soapmakers only. Be careful when making HP soap
The heat you are seeing is the reaction caused by hot lye and heated oil reaction . I'm not heating it with anything. If you watch the video well, I explained all the process. It is an exothermic reaction and not recommended for new soap makers
@Shanthi Nandkumar Cure time for CP and HP are the same. HP only accelerates saponification, not curing. There is more going on in the curing phase than just water evaporation, and needs more than 2 weeks.
If you are using botanical extract powder, use 0.5g per 100g so for 500g, you will use 0.5g x 5 Botanical extract are concentrated extract you don't want to overuse to prevent irritation

For anyone curious, this Process is called Stick Blender Hot Process (SBHP).
Pro Tip: I switch to a hand mixer when my hot process soap is too thick for the stick blender.
Thanks for sharing
Might sound like a silly question but what about using a stand mixer?
@@morpro4u stand mixer wouldn't be ideal because you need to be able to act fast when it volcanoes by stirring & beating it down fast.
thanks that's a good tip x
I would have loved to see the final results...color etc but thanks for sharing.
Ok next time. You are welcome

Hello! I wanna ask you something. Are you use stainless steel and mix it right on the stove? Or you use double boiler? Thankyou!
no stove whatsoever. i explained how to make it in d video.

What is the curing period?? thankyou
It is good to use right away but to fully harden, it takes about 2 weeks.

I thought lye reacts badly with steel?
Not with stainless steel. As long as it is stainless steel, you are good.
